I think PoE 2 has potential to be one of the best ARPGs of all time. The issue is just so many things feel tedious the more and more you progress. Souls games have their own form of "bullshit", but a lot of PoE 2 progression feels like a slog just for the sake of trying to make it difficult. I'm fine dying to bosses in games 20-30 times, but just dying even once in this game to some random one-shot mechanic you didn't see is very annoying.
I started playing diablo 4 again BECAUSE of how much I loved PoE 2. I hadn't played since launch but PoE reminded me why I love these kinds of games. I ended up quitting after getting to paragon 115 but I enjoyed my time with it.
i think the reason GGG went with premade characters is for character identity, like if you see a big muscly dude you know its a warrior, or a female character with short blonde hair you know its a ranger but then again with all your gear on or cosmetics you cant really tell anymore, especially since all classes can use any weapons and skills now
I think they did it to save time. Modern standard of character customization requires a lot of work which, I think most of their playerbase will agree, is better spent on gameplay.
Great review man. Loved listening to your take on PoE2, I haven’t played yet. I played alot of Diablo 2/3 and some of 4. I may have to give PoE2 a try after hearing your thoughts 😅
Love your review Kenny, your words resonate so well with me. I can totally relate to pick a different class from your buddies. Both games have a place to belong.
Ive skipped every cutscene in d2, d3, d4, poe1, poe2, and even last epoch if it had any. Im not playing arpgs for the story but the gameplay is just like refined crack sugar to the veins i love them!
As good as this game is there is so much things missing that the game will just get better over time. Each new class will bring a new weapon and skill gems to supplement the older charecters.
its early access, yeah more will come but be happy with the content now, its missing content so the GGG Team can fix issues easier instead of having everything out at once
And people are meeting blizzard with so much hate and all the disrespect because of all the years of being screwed over by the company for so long that honestly at this point it's deserved. I mean I get like you know everybody is working hard on the game and not everything is a total cash grab but it kind of is and unfortunately the higher ups and corporate greed ruin it for everybody nobody wins when it comes to corporate greed
Act 1 on normal was awesome but then it devolved into a frustrating slog. Skills and passives are too streamlined compared to PoE1. Trade is bad. No crafting and loot is bad. Kinda disappointed. Looking forward to how it evolves, but atm I'm enjoying what D4 has become. It's a lot better than it was on release.
I laugh to man. Ppl act as if POE2 is for everyone. I love the game but D4 has its place. I guarantee the average player will not want to invest in POE2 because of the time you have to put in. Another thing is you really need to trade to get ahead. I just feel like D4 is for casual ppl where as POE2 is for ppl who got time to spend on the game. Also all these streamers like to ride "the wave" so shitting on D4 is the wave for them. To be honest i still love Last Epoch to be honest. Ill be playing all 3 for the next atlest 5 to 6 years. I just think thr POE community toxic

Reviewingly honest brutality

Here's my brutally honest nonsense comment
I recommend Grim Dawn Kenny :)
Felt like a more natural progression from Diablo 2.
Grim Dawn is criminally overlooked.
Multiple choices is a good thing.

I enjoyed MTV Music Generator more than Guitar hero.

Oof! Waaay too brutal! You didn't have to go ALL THE WAY IN like that! 😂
