While I absolutely think the M4 Sherman was the perfect tank for the allies in the war for many reasons I still love the lore and fear of the Tiger even though we all know that thing was too expensive, too heavy, used improperly, and just not as reliable/serviceable as other vehicles at that time. However, I in no way am unhappy to hear the M4 is making a big appearance here. Lets keep history alive.
What breaks my brain is how the lend lease Shermans have different codes and it's so confusing trying to work out what American variant they correspond to. I bought a set of decals for lend lease Shermans, but finding the right kits for them is not easy!
Sounds great, finished an Asuka M4 Sherman V from the British army, and getting to know versions of Shermans takes a while and it gets confusing,so this project Sounds great, can’t wait to see it Hank!
Cool, the M4 and various modifications/upgrades is my favorite American tank. Im a little biased though, as my father drove one in the korean war. His tank had the 105mm gun, and it was mostly used as a mobile artillery platform until it took a hit on the engine deck, from a North Korean/Chinese artillery shell. He did survive but was in a hospital in Japan for many months.
That poster looks cool! Now if I can only convince Mrs. Chilly Billy to let me put one in a frame. (Sadly, I don't have a dedicated modeling room until my teenage daughter moves out.)
Hello from Liepaja! On Russian chenal UA-cam with the name Siberian scale, discuss all Shermans. All types, modifications, paintings, history a. c. Very interesting channel. Only one problem. It is in Russian.
