Service for Dorking - Timetable - Train Sim World 5
Вставка
- Опубліковано 24 гру 2024
- Starting off at Selhurst Depot at 07:34.00 with the task of assembling an 8-car Southern Unit to be put into Service for Dorking, with stops at Balham, Clapham Junction, and London Victoria then meeting up with 1R14 for Reigate, through a busy section of the Brighton Mainline.
Player placed toybox in Brighton Mainline. First section of an 8hr continuous Session which spans from Brighton Mainline and East Coastways doing various tasks during a Live Timetable while "roleplaying?" a Southern Worker.
The runs are planned and Scheduled, so there is no interrupting any of the AI Services in front or behind me. They are a mix of Player placed Loco's, and meeting up with proper Timetable Services.
I am essentially "roleplaying" a worker for Southern, so I'm not sprinting anywhere either, I'm walking... the entire time... However it helps you take in the scenery.
I tried to add Tags to every Service I saw, but there are a few around the start that I couldn't place their Start and Finish point, so I just left the Tags out.

What are your thoughts on TSW5?
Honestly, it's not worth another "new Game", and has been that way since TSW2. It's ok that it's currently "Free" to upgrade, however this Free upgrade should be permanent to show appreciation to the Community and their support over the years, just like TS20xx does. You don't know how many of their hardcore fans are currently unable to get this free upgrade due to life issues or what not, which means some people may miss this.
The new Features are nothing to rave about just like every other release. The only thing I've found that I enjoy, is to be able to do things like this in the Video, however I'm not sure if that was implemented in TSW4 or 5 as I refunded TSW4 on day one and uninstalled everything from DTG, however, even this feature can be very finicky in most circumstances.
I understand the Routes TSW5 come with can be somewhat "iconic", however as someone who isn't a Railfan, and just here for a fascination in Simulators in general, then I find the base Routes extremely boring and bland.
Performance is still no different. Bad stutters on some Routes, other seem fine. I've had no crashes.
So at the end of the day, it's kind of a hard Question to answer. I think TSW5 is not needed, as with every other yearly release after TSW2.
@@EmissionGaming thanks 😊
@@EmissionGaming I have Train simulator classic 2024 would you say this would be an upgrade or not to bother?
@@MrHYDRO84 Well depends on what you would find enjoyable, but as a new player coming into the Franchise, then I would say you would have potential to find enjoyment here that you can't in Train Simulator Classic. Don't get me wrong, Train Sim World in a nutshell is an ok Game but they both have their own Positives and Negatives.
I tend to personally find TSW more enjoyable simply because of the "freedom" factor of it. Instead of constantly worrying about playing the Scenario's or Timetable which can get pretty boring after awhile, I can now just kind of do what I want, and make my own Schedules and Scenario's on the fly.
However, despite this one thing that brings me to play it over TS Classic, TSW also lacks severely in the regards to it being for railfans which MAY be irrelevant to some. Being someone who doesn't follow the industry, or know much about it, I've even picked up on the fact that simply things like being able to number your Locomotives to be "correct" is a big deal, which you can't do.
The "Scenario Planner" is absolutely useless compared to TS Classic's Route builder, which may seem daunting at first, but is actually very simple to pick up. However in TSW's Scenario Planner, it is literally bare bones in Content, and has an enormous limitation to what we can actually set up. We do have access to the Route Builder for TSW now though, but it is much more complex and not general user friendly.
It also has a lot less to offer in the ways of DLC Content on all fronts of 3rd Party Developers, Modding, to Official releases, and it doesn't seem to be building up all that quickly.
Although TSW has a "24hr Timetable" 99% of Routes are just bare empty. The Route in this Video "London Commuter" is definitely my favorite purely because of how much AI there is, every other Route, you are lucky to see more than 3-4 Trains in a single run. They have "Layers" as well, but this just seems to be completely neglected. Once they release what they were initially planning on, the chances of extra Layers being added with new Services are extremely low, basically non-existent.
I tend to feel a lot of the times that TSW is more "Arcade" in the sense that it simply misses the mark in so many places for it to be a true "Rail Simulator", but again that just depends on your perspective on how you look at it.
When I say TSW5 isn't worth it, that is from the standpoint of an already existing owner, and my personal preference on the Route Bundle selection. However as a new player, I can probably say if you enjoy TS Classic and have many hours into that, then you would also enjoy TSW for what it's capable of offering you.
You don't actually have to buy "TSW5" though if you would agree that the Base Routes for that may not be what you are after, but you can just get the "Free Starter Pack", and then buy a completely different Bundle on top of that. The Game will work the same way, but you will need to keep in mind that "some features work with some DLC, and some DLC look better than other DLC" due to some slight adjustments they've done over the years.
Anyways, although I may have my honest opinion against DTG and the majority of what they do, however I don't regret my purchase, and I have enjoyed the times that it's worked well.
Hope any of that was helpful for you =]
EDIT: I think one of the most important things to note is, Dovetail Games did not create TS Classic, they simply ended up buying the platform and did a little bit of tweaking. TSW is actually DTG's first attempt at "building their own", so what I'm saying is, don't go into TSW thinking to have the same, or similar experience in regards to the depth between the two.
