I think it was two factors that ultimately took her life: the cancellation of Big Brother (reports said that she was supposed to have a production role on the show, but never came to fruition after Channel 5 dropped the programme) and (more impactful) the pandemic and lockdowns and isolation taking a grave toll on her mental health. If she had gotten the due help and support during those lockdowns, we'd have Nikki Grahame alive and kicking right now. But the UK government so beyond bungled the response, as we've seen thus far.
The girl went onto a show that would dictate your eating habits. Whipped cream, slop, slime ect. She probably should have done her research about the show before signing up.

I learned a little after this aired that she had an eating disorder but I didn’t realize how serious it was. Nikki was suffering from complex issues that manifested in food issues and an eating disorder and honestly this isn't okay. By the time she appeared on this show, that was well documented. For her, Big Brother houses were just like the institutions where she spent her childhood and teen years trying to get well. She needed something different to this. RIP Nikki.

Hilarious, self deprecating, unaware, self absorbed, but completely and utterly lovable. I'd say that she said more about Britain in the early 21st Century than any other television personality. She fell victim to the short sighted and irresponsible lockdowns that isolated those who were truly at risk and treated them as incidental causality numbers. She must have been so lonely and afraid.
