So impressive. The depth in your voice and ease with which you access it is eerily reminiscent to Eva, as is your beautifully-nuanced guitar work. I had the same feeling listening to this as when I heard Eva, Jeff Buckley, and Ella Fitzgerald for the first time (i.e. a general sense of awe at how someone can have that level of control/freedom in their voice). Brilliant performance.
Only 44 views, but already reached the Netherlands. Very surprised, how I like éverything about it: singing, playing, timing, performance, expression, sound, recording effects.. And nóthing annoys me.. Being 70, I've heard a lót, but this one is special.. Playing it over and over again.. Thanks!!..
Also glad, this version does not suffer from the same mistake, I've heared in so many covers.. After 'I know, I know, I know..', Bill Withers sings "I ought to leave the young thing alone, but ain''t no sunshine, when she's gone..'. But many artists, even famous ones, don't seem to know the words 'ought to' (= should), and just mumble something across the line.. It might be old fashion English. So every time after 'I know I know..' I sit tense in my chair, half terrified about what's coming this time.. But here it was a relief, Madison had a line, that perfectly fitted in this version. Thanks for that too!.. :-)
@@madisondeslandes Taking the time to watch?! :-) It may be hard to believe, but it is actually possible, that people LIKE what you do. :-) In half a day you already gathered 515 views. And likes from the Netherlands, Nigeria, and Colorado. In a week, you may need all your neighbors to manage your UA-cam account. (Joke) This 'old man' (70) hopes, you don't get distracted to much by attention from others. That usually doesn't bring much. Better live your own life, and watch your choices carefully. You're doing well. You produce quality your own way, and that's what people see.. this dedication.. Just keep on doing, what you believe in, and believe in what you are doing.. That's the way to go, I think. Good luck to you!
Great effect on the microphone! Nice and simple. Bringing the song back to its basics - but plenty of room for interpretation. Nice little improv section vocally - maybe it needs something (or nothing) from the guitar during that section? Such heart! This song means something definitely. I don't understand how UA-cam's algorithm made me found you, but I'm glad it did. Keep moving forward! Tell your friends! I hope this makes sense - let me know if you have questions. I really dug this version!
