There's a really good reason so called "Mediocre" music thrives nowadays. Most albums considered truly great are the albums that lyricists themselves can sit down listen to and pick apart. These great albums usually have deep meaningful lyrics but the songs don't sound good as background music to do while getting other things done. What are most people doing while listening to music? Working, grinding, etc.
Hate it all you want most people listening to an album aren't focusing on critiquing each song, music that's catchy sells and I can't knock anyone that is making party music for the common person rather than making lyrical masterpieces for other lyricists.
Some people call it raunchy or ratchet but promiscuity is what rules today's female rap. I believe that females who show their assets are just catering to the consumers. The real problem is that the majority of the public co-sign talent like this. Sophistication has been lowered down in our society, and now we see it come full bloom.
My personal take that I know wasn't asked for...

Well unfortunately when women sexually exploit themselves society throws millions of dollars at them.
I don't mind sexual songs or sexual dancing in my media and enjoy a lot of dirty/sexual songs.
But when twerking becomes half your personality, or youre doing all these sexual songs that appeal to the male fantasy, queerbait, and talk about using men for sex or money, you aren't empowering anyone. You're just perpetuating cycles and enforcing stereotypes.

I don’t understand how she’s called the “Queen of Rap” if she feels pressured to hop on trends!! To be called the Queen of a genre you have to set trends and be the innovator not the follower!! The reason Nicki is placed in the same bar as these modern female rappers is because she’s just like them (trend hoppers, inauthentic and lack artistic development) but debuted earlier and was the only female rappers in the early 2010s (so she relied on the bubble gum pop edm sound to stay relevant)!!

The labels are more focused on finding female rappers that are attractive and not focused on finding female rappers with actual talent
You basically need to make a 10/10 generation defining album as a woman so you don’t get objectified and even then unless you pull off a Lauryn hill you won’t even get the same success financially since making the best album you can usually costs more than just selling your image and getting by with passable music
No you don’t. Artists like missy eliott don’t get objectified.

@@carltonbanks3363 I don’t think guys actively choose to objectify female rappers, female rappers objectify themselves. Cardi B, Meg, Sexy Redd, they all objectify themselves without the men doing it for them. As a woman, you need to drop music with substance to be taken seriously, which is what they don’t do.
@@shida5320 I think it’s multiple things for starters I think both genders actively play a part in the objectification women do it as you said like cardi B etc but also men but it’s probably more subconscious cause like men and the whole patriarchy thing. I think it makes sense that it is the way it is for female rappers. Think about it. Both female and male rappers rap about overly sexual things, it's a huge part of rap. However, the main things that are being sexualized in these video's are woman.
So, with the men rap, the woman are there as like a prop/extra to make them look good. This way they don't need to sexualize themselves to appear as sexy.
With female rappers, they are appealing to the same genre and work with what is popularized in the rap genre by taking the oversexualized girl from the mens song and turning her into the main focus by singing AS her.
I know that many different people listen to rap, but it is definitely pandered towards men. If it wasn't, I'm sure that the female rappers would just have a bunch of sexy men as side props. But, that won't happen for the same reason you wouldn't catch a male rapper sexualizing himself. It's hella gay. Because we are pandering to a male audience, and not assuming anyone else will listen to the rap.
Men are so rarely sexualized in these things, that I'm not sure if the media knows HOW to sexualize men and not have it come across as weird.
That is a REALLY good point that I haven't heard people talk about! :)

I definitely agree bro, their music isn't bad but it's mid af because they focus on sexualizing their body instead of having substance and talking about real shit as a rapper. It's getting really bad and I saw firsthand how it affects the younger generation because I worked at a summer camp. The younger girls I had in my care as a counselor were singing these songs and it doesn't represent the rap game very well especially in the female rapper scene. These kids are growing up on this bs music instead of real music and respectfully it's only going to turn them into thots when they grow up and the cycle repeats. I've seen it firsthand, the younger generation copies everything the older ones do, this is a real problem. Nicki gets a pass because she makes decent music (I'm talking early 2000s) and doesn't talk about her body in every song she has made everybody else is garbage.
Male rappers just rap about violence and drugs and sex and money most of the time. What's the difference?
@@shinypooka there is no difference the only thing the same is how they influence kids, they are making criminals and thots which is the worst possible outcome
@@_nuthegreat_ but if it's the same why are people only talking about "female rap"? men been doing the same shit for decades and decades and decades, but somehow it's okay because they're sexualizing women instead of women sexualizing women. make it make sense
@@crispyghosttoastt5216 We're only talking about female rappers nowadays because they sexualize their body and these kids are repeating the message. If wouldn't be such a problem if they didn't talk about anything but their private parts. There are many rappers who have some type of substance and don't talk about women in every song they have made (i.e. J Cole, JID, Kendrick Lamar). Female rappers have made their purpose plain in promoting and sexualizing their body in songs for a bag. There's no substance behind it. What do you get out of listening to Ice Spice and Sexy Redd, not much right?
You could say a lot of the same things about most pop singers, male and female. It's their looks and attractiveness that sells as much as anything else
Lol, its common for local cashier, bank teller, uber driver and %50 of the wmn you know to have an O.F
"fallen off the face of the earth"😅
It’s all about looks, a social media following, personality and gimmicks…the ability to actually walk in the studio and lay down an impressive body of work that’s gonna be talked about and played for years to come is not the mindset anymore
Looks, looks, looks, folks should be watching UglyDolls now.
@@Abigblueworld the human mind is programmed to like, pay attention and be nicer towards people they find attractive that's why pretty privilege exists and will always exist
this guy is straight up the BEST UNDERRATED UA-camR IN THE GAME.
his content is super high quality and entertaining and hes also talented af.
he really deserves all the love and support he gets.
“Definitely do do that” 👀
Facts man
Can't we say the same thing for male Rappers 💀
real
what male sexualizes himself bruh lolll and if they are some dudde which is rare there is more females like what u smoking dawg
Female rappers sexualize themselves way more than male rappers do let's not lie lmao. The men are more likely to rap about money and cars and basically just flex their wealth, which is corny, but they don't sell themselves the same way female rappers sell themselves.
@@Retsu664 they’re still negatively influencing people the exact same amount
thank u
