Floating Fireplace Mantel Installation on a Rock Wall

I figured out how to install a floating fireplace mantel on a very uneven rock wall above the fireplace. I drilled into the cultured stone and used 1/2-inch threaded metal stock for the horizontal posts. We then matched the back of the Parota wood mantel to the posts and drilled holes into the wood. The friction fit makes the mantel very secure. I may use adhesive in the future to glue the posts into the rock and wood.
