    I have been avoiding doing this job on my '04 for a month because all the tutorials were wack. I'm glad I was able to find this video, I think its gonna help me a lot. Thanks for posting.

    Just an FYI, I just did this job over the weekend, it takes roughly 25 minutes to get the compressor off, just take out the 2 bolts holding the right engine mount off and jack up the engine, no need to loosen the bolt on the subframe.

      How did you get the compressor itself out? From the top or bottom?

    Did you have to loosen the passenger motor mount before lifting the engine?

    • @passport_papii
      @passport_papii  Рік тому +1

      If in not mistaken I only worked on the passenger side. I only loosened the ones from the video in order to get to it. Hope that helps!

      @passport_papii in the video, he never mentioned anything about the motor mounts, but im sure youd have to loosen the motor mount to get clearance

    Did you pull it from the top or the bottom?

      Sarah Acquaire I pulled the compressor from the top. If u remove that left fan held in by 2 10mm bolts you can wiggle it easily from there. It's held in by 4 bolts and the plug

      You could have taken the top part of the intake off as well to give you more room.

    Did you happen to change your ac drier and expansion valve? Or dont really need too?

    • @passport_papii
      @passport_papii  4 роки тому +2

      good question! I bought the kit that came with all 3 on ebay and I did change out the ac drier since it was easy to get to (right below the battery). BUT I did NOT change the expansion valve after I saw all the screws I had to remove behind the glove box.. fk that. But luckily my stock expansion valve still worked so I didn't need to change it :) So i recommend trying your ac with the drier before going through hell for that expansion valve.

      almost any time you do repair work on the ac you want to replace the drier, especially in the case of a leak. prolonged exposure to air overloads the drier and makes it useless. getting to the drier is easy enough it's right under the battery tray, you can get it out/in just by pulling the battery.
      if your system will maintain a vacuum then you don't have to do the expansion valve, but if it won't hold a vacuum and there's not any leaks in the engine bay, you will probably have to change the expansion valve. found all this out the hard way over the last week 😅 if you pull the blower there's a bolt up in the top of the dash that you will need at least a 18 inch extension to be able to reach it. or at least that's how i got to it i couldn't figure out any other way to get a socket on it

    How do you pull the compressor out when it is completely unbolted? From the top and did you remove any other parts?
    Thanks

    • @passport_papii
      @passport_papii  Рік тому

      Nope that was about it. I only removed the hood latch, ac lines, left fan and the 4 bolts that hold in the compressor. Should be able to wiggle it out from the top

    Can you do the ac pully delete and run a smaller belt. My subframe with those two bolts is hitting my pully and screeching. I don’t wanna take the subframe off unless I have to. Thanks !

    • @passport_papii
      @passport_papii  3 роки тому +1

      Not sure to be honest. It's worth a shot but I would definitely recommend an oem option bc unless the subframe is nodded in some way, everything or should be flush when put together

    So my AC/Heater literally blows normally, from light to full blast, but it only blows whatever temperature it is outside. Can anyone point out what my issue is?

    • @passport_papii
      @passport_papii  4 роки тому +1

      Preston Burrell that's a tough one.. So if you know your compressor and clutch work, I would suggest replacing a few of the little things like the ac drier it sits right below the battery very easy to replace and cheap. Also replace the ac blower motor resistor it's found behind the glove box. Also easy to get to and cheap part. Both of those are big reasons your ac isn't blowing the temp that you set.

      Samuel Shaw thanks a man I’ll give it a shot. Anything else it could be just in case?

    • @passport_papii
      @passport_papii  4 роки тому

      Preston Burrell I'd say definitely check on the compressor clutch to make sure they are running and working. The last thing it could be is your ac expansion valve. This is attached on the ac condenser it's a pain to get to. But start on the first 2 because if your ac starts working properly after that, don't go chasing that thing it's not worth it.
