- Keeping students, children and ourselves has always been a matter of teaching them what's out there and how they can safely use technology. Now we have incredible advances in AI and thus that mean educating our students on the potential dangers. Ones such risk is sharing a location or sensitive data through the sharing of photos and videos.
With GeoSpy we now have next level image recognition which will look at a photo and try to locate the location that photo was taken based on street signs, monuments, and other identifiers visible in the photo.

@@goodgtps2750 if at unique landmarks then it will be, but not for non-descript buildings.
Using Google Image search also can detect the location of the image specifically. And this happen before everyone know about AI.
Good point. Don't forget about the facial recognition site! I can't remember the name but perhaps it's even more concerning.
Based on a few experimental try's, it has a long way to go. Misidentified a restaurant with the name clearly in view. It did get the city right. On another, it missed the state much less the city or the heritage house.
I agree. However, as every day brings with it improvements this is important to be aware of.
Thank you very much, I will inform my students immediately, thank you
