Is Rassie risking it with inexperienced Springboks like Salmaan and Jan-Hendrik? What's the plan?

- Once again, Springbok coach Rassie Erasmus surprised all and sundry with a relatively inexperienced Springbok team, with the backline and bench being the more experienced. Did he structure this team to exploit the Springboks' well-known scoring sprees after half time or does he have something else in mind?
MW and Harry do a proper deep dive into what Rassie might be thinking and how he might intend to attack a high-riding Pumas side.

Thanks for an interesting discussion. Listening to you, I just feel Argentina will throw the 'wild dog' at the Boks early. What I would like to see is who the Boks enforcers will be. That used to be our locks, so Nortje and Moerat will most likely be hugely tested.
Totally
Harry you will knock it out the park. You are intelligent and king.
Thanks Trev
From what I have seen of Moerat in a Springbok jersey is someone who lacks that dog in him, the real fight you see in Siya.
Great analysis - well done Guys!!
Thanks
If this group, with a relatively inexperienced pack as against the Argies, can pull it off, it will be huge for them individually and the wider team.
I think you under-estimate the Argies’ ability to switch on the magic attack in the 2nd 1/2 to 3/4 of the game. We may have the bomb-squad but they have the blitz attack a la French rugby of old; ask the Wallabies & ABs if you doubt this. Their hard field will suit this.
I had to come to the youtube channel just to find out how to spell "Citton Cars". Honestly the actual spelling was not on my bingo card. Maybe spell it out for your audio podcast stans? Love the pod guys, keep it up!
Well, at least we got you watching the podcast too now! 🤣 I didn't think of the spelling, will see what I can do.
Harry is most intelligent analyser of the game of Rugby across all International Rugby shows currently. Some coaches wont know whats coming but Harry does. Side note : The timestamps helps alot for the show pls.
Marco - thanks for that. Harry
The point Harry makes about the experience of the Argentinian team is scary…this game could go either way hope the Boks can pull off a win !
You mean Salman Moerat needs to show Honey Badger ! ( a Wolf cannot overcome an Wolverine )
😂
Joe is definitely the more decorated Coach !
Ratther interesting chat with the knowledge of the announced Argintina team. Lavanini out and Gonzles on the bench Lots of new faces
You are born with the heart to climb in and destroy your opposition, and play to doninate physically and mentally. Don't become a Bok to learn that or even to pass, kick and catch. All you learn at professional level is how to channel the aggression and passion and how to outsmart opposition and learn to box clever to after the final whistle has gone.
Our starting #4 18:27 -7 forwards not street wise yet and might get overshadowed in the breakdowns.
Good at URC level not good enough to be a great Springbok.
Fullback and wing/s defence weakness.
Could be
It would be interesting to compare the last 10 mins of the SA/AUS game with Manie and Handre both on to this SA/ARG game to see how it matches up and what decision-making happens on field when they both on. Looking forward to a great game.
Very good point! Imagine Manie being free to play and not worrying about kicking!
An AB supporter put it well. You pick the team to beat the opponents on the day. The Dr has the luxury of being able to think ahead. And to see how people perform under stress. And we are talking beyond 2027. The Dr will not, repeat not win every game. That's a given. But unless he knows his squad , he's just like other coaches. Hoping. And hope is not a strategy.
Ons Sal Maan moet sien... 🏉
Hoping to see some aggressive scrumming from du Toit show why he is valued in Premier Leaque.Same of Moerat we need to see spark, not disappearing performance be in fight so to say.Nortje have showen glimses,we need to see Matfield like performance around defense, show he is mobile lock, future heavy in lineouts.Feel very talented team, can be put in can by agressive Puma pack.
I am hoping the Wallabies win at least one against the All Blacks! Now is the time to spring a surprise !
Are u mad brother, the no 9 team in the world, spring a surprise on the no 2 team in the world, abs?😬😬👎👎👎💀💀💀👀👀👀🤔🇬🇧🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦🇿🇦
@craigmorgan4676 anything is possible... never forget Brighton
I'm rooting for wallabies to perform a miracle I mean the springboks have neutralize the all blacks they are limping now they are in paralysis mode can't move that fast they are still confused can't think straight heart broken time for wallabies to deliver the final blow🎉
Hope is not a strategy
Marnie can play fullback and center and fassie can cover wing so the back line is covered....
MW.... JHW line out throws might surprise you Saturday. I think the Rassie coaching environment differs a lot from Jake, and that may suit his confidence.
I think you make a very good point, and I alluded to it as well. Will be fascinating to see if this is indeed the case.
@@megafoonsport BUT it can go from bad to worse like in CT because the Boks is over complicating the line out plays and even our best hookers don't get it right.
IF he can do a Cheslin Kolbe we will be allright.
Nice show. Statistically, Boks have the worst scrum in the 2024 Rugby Championship. Interesting is that Argentina is the next worst. Who would've thunk it?
rassie has to have a darker skinned quota and in general has less options in the scrum than the back line. So one has to credit him for his balancing act. He may even have to lose games to get the mix right. Luckily we have ,many good players of colour in the back line. Genetically though people of English and Dutch origins can be larger, so they should provide the bulk of South Africas forward pack
Like this comment if you're watching the press conference just to hear Harry's question 😂😂😂
Well, I will certainly be listening!
I dont think Rassie has a choice with Salman, I think he is forced to play this player from SARB.
What utter BS.
Definitely not the case.
Ok, we have our different opinions.
@@Karma-qt4ji I have my view you have yours, he is no great shakes and to be capped captain with so few caps is BS.
@@ErrolWeidemann-xn4zv Yes, you have your opinion, but your opinion is that Rassie is lying to us when he says he likes the guy so therefore there must be some politics at hand? This is a guy who has been captain at the Stormers, captain at age group level, and when he most likely replaced by Eben later in the game, Eben will take over - that just makes sense! There is literally no better player in the starting lineup with captaining experience who can step into the role AND allow Eben to take over later, but let's not let fact get in the way of bigotry, boet.
world cup the big trophy for a good cause can pick a weaker team
This was most stimulating, thank you stacks
Great going by reaching 250k views
That is excellent…
So now we see both with Razor and Rassie
Joe and Phlippe taking flack from all sides…❓❗️Loyalties are at stake here, of course
This rugby show is beginning to rise above the rest with powerful effect…Thanks
We follow and get to the nitty gritty in a really fun setup
Baie dankie Manne
Geniet die Toets Games terdeë…ENIGIETS kan gebeur, dis die lekkerte vd huidige ‘dices which roll’‼️
Komplimente with the way you addressed the obvious ‘Salmaan issue’ : You hit it spot on Harry
And your questions tonight MW were ‘regtig uit die boeke uit’…we live and learn
Most fascinating

If Morat is there , he is there 100% because of Rassie , if you dont see the quality of why Morat is there just look at his Stormer games ...I remember a few games I thought he was impressive...
We agree: he’s shown it at club level
I agree. I think he may lack mongrel as they say but I think he’s okay. He may not be the he best in SA right now, but the boks don’t need him to be. They have broader aims and strategic objectives in mind.
@@robertjan002 Agree he is not the best in SA right now, but 3 of the 7th best are out injured, PSDT is resting, and the other two are Eben and Ruan.
@@HaribaldiJones-d6dClub level is not the same as playing International level! There is still a gap where Moerat is concerned.
If you don't defend like the Aussies did...then you look like unbeatable ...pumas will find out what defends is all about.
The Pumas will have to find an answer to the question: Why did the ABs score 42 points against us and they could not score a single try against the Boks in Cape Town. Hmmm...
Wessels verstaan ek maar Moerat is verseker nie op standaard Daars beter 4 slotte in die land
Salman was brought up by a guy that's 'try' make a springbok of and Russie put him to a test...so its show time for that player...so let's put him to the test...its to prove Rassie 👍👎
"Inside info"
He had two chances to showcase his skills in this championship.
If it was a "white guy", these people would say, "let's support out new captain", or any other such words, but now the captain is salmaan moerat, who were captain before, and this is your best headline..... Agh
No. Watch the video first and you will see the discussion is about his form at 4 lock.
Probably a Cape Crusader...
@@megafoonsport The video discussion aside, you should look at the comments on this and similar pages before dismissing the OP's statement. As an old white guy, I am shocked and appalled by how many people have jumped onto the race card "quota" bandwagon due to Moerat's selection and, with all respect, thumbnails titled "what is it that Rassie sees in Salman" do not help.
@@Karma-qt4ji I don't agree. The discussion (and the current talking point) is why Salmaan is being selected and actually made captain as well. It links to our video earlier this week wirh Tinus van Staden where he made the point that Rassie has been following Salmaan from his Elite Player Development days. Salmaan on current form being selected for the Springboks certainly points to Rassie seeing or knowing something that most supporters probably don't. Hence the question.
@@megafoonsport Yeah I get that. But unfortunately the question has been taken by some of our more embarrassing countrymen as a reason to throw the race card out there.
Hey there’s a very good coach available he just left The English coaching staff ! Joe will now him !
He moved back to Europe to be closer to home.
What does Rassie “see” in Moerat? I don’t know! Perhaps Rassie has quietly become a Muslim! MarshaAllah!
The same what Rassie saw in Willie and Jessie Kriel, Jessie was sitting on the bench the hole 2019 worldcup but Rassie stuck with him, and now his a great player even i saw it now
Playing Moerat and making him Captain hints at Political interference. It will destroy everything the Boks achieved over the last 5 years plus.
@@internationalconsultant1200 in your view, in your world, not in the real world, he Captain in all age groups, destroyed nothing, so i support him as Captain, lots of people said the same about Kolisi, and Peter de Villiers the Springbok coach, he went on and beat the All Blacks in New Zealand, they took him out in 2011 via Bryce Lawrence, so, ...
@@Mr.RB123 i sincerely hope you are right my friend. In case you imply that my comment has a racial undertone - you will be wrong , as I am White but married to a black woman. There are enough black players who on ability qualify to play for the Boks - affirmative action selection policies act destructively and are counter productive. Captaining age group teams is not the same as captaining the National team. Ypu first qualify as a PLAYER snd then as CAPTAIN. Moerat does not at this stage qualify a place as PLAYER.
@@internationalconsultant1200 u said that about racial undertone, don't know what's your motive, sounds not right, Moerat is a Muslim coulered guy, he's not black African, so, ...
