We had an 01 300m and absolutely loved it. That high output 3.5 v6 had some serious kick. Drove it to 250,000 miles with no major engine or tranny işsues. So comfortable and a joy to drive. Wish I could find another low mileage one.
I used to want both of these when I was young especially the LHS. I thought it was a great attempt by Chrysler to get into the luxury competition to compete with the Buick Park Ave, Lincoln Continental Lexus ES/GS, Olds Aurora and LSS. I do think Chrysler shot themselves in the foot by producing the Concorde since it was basically the same although I think it had the bench seating and 3.2 v6
I remember doing valet as a young kid in like 2000 and a brand new 300m would come and give me a $20 tip. The car felt very luxurious, didn’t think it was a Chrysler.
My neighbor bought one back in 2000 and I remember just how cool that car looked in person. Design was way ahead of time, specially that front end. Few years later he gave it to his son who I was friend with. Lots of good memories in that car.
My dad had a ‘94 LHS for work. Wasn’t bad by the semi-formal roofline ruined an otherwise pleasant silhouette. Interior plastics were okay…5 year old me remembered thinking the gauges were cheap looking - his personal car, a ‘96 LS 400 had the coolest looking gauges to date - absolutely futureistic
I had an 02 300M and an 01 Intrepid. Both were fantastic driving cars with exceptionally comfortable interiors. The 300M was a great driver, plenty of power but did seem a little hard on fuel. The Intrepid was a 2.7, which was so underpowered it could barely get out of its own way. Both were reliable though, I never had any major issues. It’s been about 4 years since I sold my 300 and I still see it driving around town.
@@garren588 it wasn’t chrysler. Mercedes chop the eagle brand. Actually Mercedes did many bad things for Chrysler products (jeep included) The interior soft materials you found in 300 m and grand Cherokee in 1999 models were replaced with cheap plastics and bad designs in their next generation
Wow, 1999 was quite a different year huh? 2 sedans from same brand and expectations were for them both to sell moderately well??! Such things could and would never take place in 2022...
@@dabnisbrickey6527 how so? Much more powerful, way more reliable, the 3.8L is one of the most reliable engines of all time, impossible to kill. plus, supercharger whine!
It turned out to be a double edged sword. Chrysler became such a hot company with a large profit margin making them prey for takeover and their subsequent partnership with Daimler-Benz almost destroyed them.
I thought the LHS looked so much better proportioned. I disliked the 300M's awkward rear. And I remember the hideous, tiny looking OPTIONAL handling package 16" wheels on the 300M. Then that weird tuner-inspired Special. They sure had some creativity back then, and 90s Chrysler let them display it.
My mom had a 1999 Concorde she bought new in 98. What a piece of crap that thing was. The 2.7 liter was such a lemon of an engine. It had a 100,000 warranty and the engine grenaded at random at 103k miles. And it was rebuilt. And blew again 500 miles later. Within a week. It drove nicely when it drove.
The only reason why the LHS has more rear legroom is because it doesn't have the split fold rear seat. Swap an LHS rear seat into a 300M and voila! You have magically gained 3 inches of extra legroom. It's all plug and play too. You're welcome.

Loved these cars, as long as it didn’t have the 2.7L.
Which thankfully wasn’t in the LHS or 300M
The 300M is my FAV of Chrysler’s late 90s and early 2000s cars.
Yes my God mom had one back in the early 2000's it was such a great looking car back then and powerful
My grandpa wanted a 300M, but could never find a used one in like new condition.
The 300M is beautiful and great car. I love this car
The 90s were a great decade for Chrysler 🥳🥳
Were they tho? Lol
90s was a great decade for A LOT of things! 🙌🏾🔥
Chrysler did an outstanding job with the 300M.
LOVE the 300M. I'd love to have a nice example. Love the LHS just as much
I saved a 2002 300M with 102k on it just recently. It's well worth it!
@@frazzledwizard3595 hard to believe it's 21 years old! They make junk now.
The 300M Special is unicorn. Would love to find one. I miss the old Chrysler.
I love my Chrysler 300m. Built in 2003. Bought 8 years ago with 39,500 km. Before that I had a 1998 300m

2002 Chrysler 300M Special is the one to get 👌👍
They also made the special in 2003 and 2004.
One the best Cars for Chrysler in the 90' was the 300M and LHS....
The New Yorker was pretty awesome too. Wish it sold better.
Had a 94 lhs and loved it.
It’s fascinating to see the next gen Eagle Vision rebadged as the 300M
I wonder how well it would have sold as an Eagle....
@@dontelindsey5846 me too. I always felt like Chrysler Corp didn’t give Eagle a fair shake

If I remember correctly the M was supposed to be an eagle but they killed off the eagle brand right around this time.
@@2steaksandwiches665 correct you are.
A really clean 300M would be nice to have.
Had a 99 Lhs. Wife loved that car
My boss had a dark blue-green with the nice, larger wheels. (16 spoke wheels maybe?). Great looking car.
This was supposed to become the Eagle Vision.
Imagine what this car would’ve looked like if Eagle continued.
I almost bought a 00-04' 300M in 2008, but went with a 00-04' Regal GS instead.
Bad choice
