Patria: Official Trailer | HBO
I've just watched the entire series. It's incredibly well done, excellent storytelling and acting.
This is probably my favourite TV show of all time. Everything about it is perfect. The characters, the story, the pacing, the realism, the acting..
Seriously, don't sleep on this one. This show alone is enough reasons to get HBO.
I am Basque, and lived that time just in that places, and all is so acurate, so realistic, I thoutght I was there again.
I have to watch this then. Because you are saying that this is better than The Wire and GOT
Plz tell me where can I find it this series I want to watch it ?

HBO: why in the world do you have this great trailer in spanish with English subtitles, yet the show is not in that format? I don't enjoy the english dubbed version. I want Spanish Audio with English Subtitles. How in the WORLD does HBO not do this?
They do. At least in Spain and France.
@@Ma-ttga try hbo latino bro
In Portugal we have both options - the Spanish audio or the english dubbed version.
I am in U.S. and have options to select to Spanish track. The main soundtrack is the dubbed English
In US, you can watch Spanish version, just click the button of English, then it switches to Spanish.
this show is the most perfect done TV show i've had ever seen
This was an amazing TV show. Superb writing, superb acting and a fantastic story. I didn't know much about ETA or the Basque Country until I watched it but I am so glad I did.
Parece mentira.
Extraordinaria serie. Es una obra de arte.
I enjoyed the book. This looks promising. Cagüen!
How come there is no English subtitles to the original Spanish audio?!? Please have the English subtitles to the Original Spanish voice over. Some of us want English subtitles in original audio version. Dubbed English is horrible.
Yes. I was looking for the same. How can HBO forget this? :( : (
@@sadijdhakal exactly right??
that also bothered me, try watching it on the WATCHED app...
It can't be watched in original versión with english subs? Strange...
Go to HBO Latino in the USA and audio and subtitles are in English.
Only Spain has daubed foreign films, the rest we like original language and subtitles, we can read.
Hello HBO! It never hurt to ask, hope someone from your team will have a TV adaptation of Julia Navarro's Tell Me Who I Am or Carlos Ruiz Zafon's The Labyrinth of The Spirits. Great Spanish writers.
@Ada Nb Oh no! When did he die? I read several of his novels. Great writer. I just discovered him 3 years ago.
@Ada Nb I see. Thanks. Gosh I waited for the Labyrinth of the Spirits to released in English. Apparently it's not automatically done. You need translators & publishing company. Example, I read the novel of Idelfonse Falcones - Cathedral of the Seas and it was a national best seller. Loved it so much. The sequel book is still not released in English and I've been waiting for ages. My Spanish is very limited. I'm still learning. :)
The streaming service Movistar has actually produced an adaptation of Tell me who I am! I don't know if it'll be picked up by any international company, though.
Really good series
Super super super !
I really like
AMAZING!
For those interested in watching this television series and are not familiar with the history and recent politics of Spain: Although the characters are fictional, the entire story is absolutely realistic and representative of the events that occurred in the Basque Country during the latest decades of the 20th century. I am impressed by the roles of the different actors and the courage it takes to play them, given that extremist nationalists are an important part of Basque society, and only very few of them have shown remorse, condemnation and have asked for forgiveness after all the criminal violence of ETA terrorism.
Yep, but the Spanish Nationalits felt offended as well, because they were described and shown as radical as the etarras ( the police and Arantxa's husband)
@@baronluigi2738 I won't disagree with your remark. It is the only character who at the end, to me didn't match in the story. Exageratedly extreme right, when in fact he was just a ppero totally fed up with the extreme left etarra killers.
@@piofernandezlopez7376 It was an extremist after all. The author is very conservative an partial in favor of the spanish nationalist. These hypocresy makes the story very hollow.
@@baronluigi2738 Real 'extremists' are those who have blood on their hands from innocent people, and those who support them without any remorse. In this case, ETA, Herri Batasuna, Bildu, etc..
I would like to know how citizents of any other country, who has fought a terrorist group in their own soil, would have respond if a Media Channel broadcasts a tv serie with the same point of view as HBO has made PATRIA. HBO equates the "pain" of the ETA terrorists, who murdered 858 people including innocent children, with the pain of their victims.
Is not equal. It shows the pain of two families that were good friends in the past. It's a reality that some people don't like to see but exists.
It’s not about equating the “pain”...it’s about covering the whole emotional range that has been freezed for decades in this country. It’s about humanizing a terrible historical episode of the recent history. It’s about telling the story from both perspectives
Spanish nationalism is the only terrorist group in real life, and the basques the only victims. No more lies. Both film and book are spanish propaganda.

After it started I was surprised that the Basque nation is now like Gibraltar, all speak perfect English and even the subtitles are in English.
I read the book in Castilian, expected the same for the serie or euskera, when it becomed an American colony?
You probably saw an English dubbed version. The series is in Spanish, and occasionally Basque.
I was wondering... What language is Castilian?
@@christianeduardo1 it's what commonly known as "spanish", a bit like "italian" is mostly "florentine" and "french" is "langue d'oil". European countries were linguistically heterogeneous before 19th century centralization.
@@MelkorPT Spain still is. There are 4 or 5 co-official languages in use, depending on the region...
You are very wrong. The Basque Country is not like Gibraltar. In the Basque Country the majority language is Castilian or Spanish -which is the same language and can be said in both ways-. Eusquera is also spoken in the Basque Country, although in a minority with the exception of some towns.
Gracias HBO Europe.
