I want this sung while they carry me to the grave side. The statler brothers will always be Americas poets. No one can surpass their amazing harmonies.
this song is referenced by the Oak Ridge Boys in "Y'all Come Back Saloon." Just something that came to mind. part of the lyrics: Every night in the shadows thinking back on Amarillo He'd dream of better days and ask for Faded Love Lifting high his glass in honor of the lady and her song He paid his check then lonely walked the broken cowboy home
What a great way to pass these crazy 20 20 + 20 21 times listening to old Statler Brothers tunes🙏

Don starts this off with such a smooth sound. The music is also gorgeous. As always, a fresh approach. And Lew never sounded better!

The Statlers are grate. especially Lew Dewitt.
@@strawberry3143 I love all of them but my favorite is Don Reid. He is the reason I started listening to the Statler Brothers because of him.
This one and Patsy's of course.

I wonder why Statlers never sang Spiratuals. Lew has a good voice for them. Gospel and Spirituals are not the same.
