I agree David, we get robbed of so many wonderful cars from other countries here in North America, because of our lust for fat suv's and trucks. Pretty soon that is all we will have since Ford has killed off most of their car line and now GM following suit. To think of things like the Polo GTi, Yaris GR or even the likes of Godzilla himself the R32 - R34 GTR Skylines, having been imported here!

Most people don't spend time on race tracks where costly tyre use is justified. Other mods can be enjoyed any time. Noise is half the fun. That polo sounded boring af regardless of the handling. A stripped out old school civic on street tyres and 150hp would be wayyyyyyy more fun.
@@papapetad It has an OPF which dampens the sound. This is the way with modern cars. But I can drive mine with a good conscience since the air that comes out the exaust is cleaner then the one sucked in (at least particulates)
I'm an older viewer shall we say and really get a kick out of the Polo GTI, had mine on 2 years now and still look forward to every drive.
Mine had it's first Birthday one month ago. I feel the same way. But I still wish it had a manual :D
It was like a dream. The car handled as if by mindcontrol. Still crazy curious how the fullslicks will handle.

@@clarkyclarke9817 it really was. Those fat fronts gladly absorb all the energy from high speed braking. I had yellow flags into schwedenkreuz twice, so couldn’t feel any there, but metzgesfeld or into wehrseifen was a dream to brake hard into.

I feel like Volkswagen should make a Polo R Misha as it would handle better than Golf R as it’s smaller plus a lot less expensive & affordable too.
as owning a polo gti 2019 in the twistys honestly it smokes majority of cars even golf rs which i have owned i find really heavy in the twistys same with the s3 and ive recently got the 2019 rs5 and that seems heavier too polo carries more speed in the small the medium bends the polo R would smoke the golf r so no one would buy it in my opinion
Im not sure if you're aware, but they made a verison called Polo R WRC back in 2014, Manual with 220hp. Limited edition.
They won't ever do that unfortunately, cos then they won't be able to sell Golf R's and GTI's due to in house competition.
Polo R is just an Audi S1 I guess 😂

Hallo Misha, i love the polo, i drove a normal 1.4 tsi and is amazing so i can imagine this GTI with JRZ or KW, Seats and a half cage
A really common mod for Golfs to eliminate most of the rubbing is to take out the fender liner screw that sits on the very top of the arch of the fender. Not sure if the Polo also has it but if it does try taking it out as the screw is protruding a lot. Just make sure to tuck the fender liner over the fender lip after or else you can say bye bye to it haha.

Nice video misha I use to own a 1.6 astra a long time ago had r888 on handled like on rails . Sold the wheels with tyres to a friend and the first time I went down my usual fast road I nearly understeered into a field on the first fast corner I usually took at a certain speed with the r888s 😂 this video just reminded me of my brown pants moment 💩👀

You can fix it 2 ways, first negative camber... Don't go more than -2,5°
And you can cut inside wheel arch, and you can roll the fenders as a last resort!

Ps wach for rear scraping... When you put that much of a negative camber on front(I presumed that what I saw on a video, front needs little bit of work, rear isn't probably that much of a problem!)

Shmee is in process of ordering a Lambro STO. I hope he gets one with LH steering so he can leave it at the Ring. I'm sure Misha would be happy being a caretaker which would involve taking it out for weekly drives.
Always control should be the priority, before power up the machine!
This is prove that I'm not crazy, my friends have tuned cars, turbos, intakes... Etc... And they can't keep up with me in the corners. My car is completely stock engine wise, but I invested in tyres, got oz ultraleggeras, suspension, brakes, strut bar and sway bar.... So, yeah!

Hi misha love from SA. If you’re interested in modifying the polo check out the oettinger polo cup here in SA on UA-cam. They’re build for the track polo 8 gtis very entertaining racing and very very fast and capable around the track. Here in SA we love polos and race them on different levels throughout the country. If you’re interested I have piccs and details of some crazy polos. We also run our own home made “tcr” style polo 8s that run golf 7r engines with wide body’s. They’re awesome. Hope to see some polo gti builds.

The latest Fiesta ST with semi slicks would be amazing. With the LSD would be substantially faster than the polo.

So the back also bounces hard on the GTI. Does this one have the adjustable dampers? Got them on my TDI with 17" wheels, even on the normal roads this jumping back is pretty annoying

Yes, as any semi slicks they need a bit of heat to fully deliver their max potential. So when cold, a normal « sport » tire such as the 4S or PS will give better grip.

@@snape1464 yup, not too far back Citroën made the DS3 Racing which still looks really good, and the DS3 in general looked really good, until DS discontinued it and replaced it with a crossover 🙄
