Been playing the new RP skate update since it’s dropped, and it’s honestly really good. Yeah it’s kind of arcady, but when you get a good flow it’s so satisfyingly. The animations look so good and smooth even though it can be a bit floaty. Transition skating is sick too, you can do like every stall and get into grinds on the coping smoothly. I’m really digging the update. You can skate realistically or go extreme and do impossible things if you want. Really reminds me of the Skate games for sure.
Same here, another neat thing is if you get the golden board by beating the x games on elite difficulty by getting close to a 1mil score, the weight of the board is alot heavier than usual, it takes away the arcade feel of the game, def give it a try, just wish we could turn that on for other boards, if you want to skate realistic it has to be in a golden board lol.
@@COFRESIMUSIC Just approach the transition a little slower and as your approaching hold up on the right joystick and it automatically locks in. Then you can do grind combos and stuff too. One thing I wish they'd add tho is like a button to get out of grinds, cause right now the only way to exit a grind is to ollie out.
Hey guys, I just found a Tony Hawk's Pro Skater reference in this week's Shackdaddy challenges. One of the challenges are called "So Here I Am" and "Pick It Up". They are from the lyrics of Superman by Goldfinger which was one of the songs from the first THPS.
So much good with this update. The mo-cap and sound design are great, and I love the ability to switch up grinds. Controls are a little hard to get used to, but that's okay since there's no way I'm going back to one flickit stick. The only thing that would make it even better are flatground and freestyle tricks. Perhaps they could just work as an emote. Definitely got my anti American Wasteland vibes with The Deck, such a chill and relaxing area. I can only hope this game never goes away.
Def intrigued by the notion of skateboarding in a game like riders republic. Although the entrance into the grinds looks really floaty and gamey. They need to tighten that up a bit. But overall this is intriguing.
Can't wait to get this whole game for $40 in a few months when sales dry up. Ain't no way I'm paying for each individual sport 😂 Especially for a games-as-a-service game that dies once servers go offline.
Yea the skateboarding is pretty fun but I'm not paying $25 for a DLC. Especially when it should have been in the base game from the start. like that's seriously the only reason why I didnt play the game because it didnt have skateboarding and now it does but its behind a paywall like wtf.

Transition physics in XL is the most realistic there is in any game. It gets a bad wrap because most people suck at it. Also people are used to doing 900 christ airs off of a 6ft qtr, which is never going to happen in a realistic game
ye this one is pretty much shit and will be rudimental on skate4 release. skate4 has similar flowy playstyle, but just with so much more into it edit: okay, hate-aside, if they let you edit stats and keep making updates to this, it could actually compete with skate4, especially considering skate4 release date is a mystery

Any advice on gettin into coping grinds? Usually fly out even when inputs & timing feel right 🤔

For an simcade skating experience, they nailed it. Wish I could stop trying to do Session inputs and I’ve played a lot of Riders

You should turn off auto landings because then you can get the sketchy landing animations which look sick

It's goofy that you can't select your actual stance. Regular skateboarding game give you the option to do so. 😅
Only thing that really bugs me about this game is that they don’t have goofy as a stance.
you can switch stance with the left bumper but yeah i think it’s more switch than goofy if that makes sense

Skate 3 transition is better it gets a bad wrap for being unrealistic but you can play it realistically if u want
