Speedy is frickin hilarious man.... "If you're going to put yourself out there, you better have a thick rind" "I sold all those other barrels to the Prarie dog guys, they loved it" "That's when you pulled out the rosary beads..." In all seriousness, cool interrogation. I always learn from these, sometimes confirm what I learned myself, but this was especially enjoyable.
This is by far my favorite interview. The closeness and able to joke because of speedy is great. You have so much info that I was wondering about. It was obvious that speedy twisted your arm to give up what you worked so hard to obtained. Erik you gained so much respect from this video. I wish the guy who is the wild catter gave up even 1/4 of what you did. I watch Hornady and vortex and have gained a lot of info, buy by far this was the best. Thank You
What a joy to see so much of you two guys. I’ve known about Speedy from early 90s when a newfound buddy told me about a wildcat pistol he had, and I understood what he was saying. He gave me his collection of precision shooting magazines that was around two feet high, which I devoured cover to cover to gain the latest in development of benchrest. Life, commitments and jobs took over…..25+ years later and more time to research I stumbled upon EC and they are hammering 284s at a thousand yards! This video is like meeting old friends even though I have never shaken hands with either. Would be proud to if given the opportunity though. Wonderful episode from two world class shooters giving proven technical knowledge away freely. Class act here.
This was a great video. It is a privilege to listen to the wisdom of two minds this high of caliber speak to one another and pass the knowledge down. Thanks and hope you and your family’s have a happy new year.
Congratulations Erik on a fine win at SWN!! I haven't watched all three hours yet hopefully this weekend. Speedy's a riot! Ya gotta keep him right up on the mic for us deaf guys!
Ya, I have to use a volume booster app with Erik's podcast (most podcasts actually), especially when I'm listening while running next to the main road, or in the shower: listeners can always turn the volume down, but my phone only let's me go up so high. As long as you don't come in full blast, give the listener a couple seconds to adjust the volume, it's fine to favor the high side.
Sooo much valuable information, thanks guys. Mic audio was good, but louder is better than quieter. Your audience, made up of mostly old deaf guys, can always turn their sound down if it's too loud. It must be very hard making dies without knowing what chamber and brass guys are using. Looking forward to more nuggets of knowledge from Speedy.
Love the way you give 99.9% of the information needed to build a competitive rifle. The two of you are doing so much for the cumunity. Thanks for all the info.
I watched this all the way through guys! Very informative but it missed one point ! Not everyone has ability or money to get to the levels you guys go to. Competition for me is fun but not always ability to win. You guys are lucky with the freedom with firearms you have. There is no way you could do the things you do in the Uk. But it was an excellent watch and please don’t forget your f class friends in the Uk . Pat
This was amazing !!!! Plus I just love listening to Speedy he just cracks me up ! I love he was basically getting you to let some of his tricks outta bag.
It is great that you can give away so much information to your competitors and have the confidence in your abilities to do that. It shows that it is really how you apply that information and skill that counts.
Congratulations Eric! I have learned so much from you and Speedy. I love my EC tuner brakes I have an order in for my 3rd tuner brake. Just listening to you I have developed my own reloading technique where I can get to a great load very quickly. Thank you so much!!
Erik Cortina, I used your EC Tuner Brake in GA.It worked great. The weather was about 85 in TX wjen we left.In GA the next 3 days in was below 30 degrees,After shooting a string the camera man stopped and said , Mr. ORR you had about 2 to 2.5 inch group at 1803 yards. My load changed alot..It went from 2810 down to 2855. I turned the tuner brake to get my zero back .Thats proof it really works in more ways.Thank You ERIK Cortina
On the primer I found the same. I used a lee hand primer and wasn't getting them to the bottom and didnt know it.. Believe it or not I got the lee bench primer and I now have them seated all the way. If u can't see the 3 spots where the anvil makes contact with the bottom of the primer cup in the carbon after u de prime you are not getting the primer seated all the way.
Eric I get the load development goal of low ES & SD! But I'm finding that seating depth impacts those numbers. Do you re-do the powder load ladder for each potential seating depth?? A little procedure reveal would help -- Thanks Tom
I don’t think you are saying enough about the tuners. If you sell the tuners, you should explain in detail on how to get the most advantage out of the tuner.
For an old 73 yr. old guy that is just getting started in long range, I appreciate any information. I am on a very limited budget, so Any information that will help me cut the corner is awesome. I have purchased a Savage 6.5 Mdl. 10 hvy barrel that I intend to put in a MDT Oryx chassis. I will buy a tuner as money allows. I am not set up to reload, so I will have to rely on a factory load. Sure do appreciate these shows.
"I'll bring the corelok's over there" that cracked me up...shooting is a serious mental game that most ppl wont and dont understand...my enemy is getting mad...need to find my cortina cool as a cucumber mind set lol
Why not have a tuner that works with a suppressor? for example, my OSS (now HUXWRX) screws onto an OSS muzzle brake. I would really like to use the EC tuner while using my suppressor (esp. when hunting long-range 6.5PRC)
I would support Speedy doing a podcast, he has what it takes to do well at it. If youlisten to enough of Erik's podcasts, he gives away all his secrets anyway, just does it bit by bit, a word here, a sentence there, prhaps sometimes without even realizing it.
Hi Speedy and Eric. Great to hear the interview. Eric, I am Speedy's newest (and he says the BEST by far :) student. You guys are both class acts. I am a bit long in the tooth to ever compete with you two, but it is fun to see what you both have accomplished. Best in the future...
wasn’t sure what die to buy. Now I know i just need to wait until yours is released. Make them the way you think they should be. I want to learn a proven way before expirimenting.
Eric, can you recommend a decent Chrono for someone just starting off load development? I cant afford lab Radar. Would be very nice to be able to read from a smartphone as well. Your thoughts. Thanks brother Eric.
Hey guyz congrats on all your achievements including this live broadcast!!! I was wondering how loose or tight should i have my neck diameter reamed? Im trying to figure out if a tighter neck diameter would straighten out my bullets which may be seater slightly crooked.. i shoot 223 and notice the spec for my chamber is 0.254”. If i go with a 0.251” what issues may I encounter? Reloading issues? Chambering issues? Would like your input? Please?? Most of my loaded brass measures 0.248 - 0.250”. So it should work right?
Hello Eric, I know my new Model 70 .270 Feather-Weight is no match rifle. BUT IF it had a threaded muzzle, could a tuner potentially increase its accuracy? Or are your tuners only for super long match barrels that are threaded, “Not hunting 22” barreled rifles?” Thanks
I know this is a year old post, but let's talk 284. Say your load shoots good a 2800 fps 180 hybrids. close to pressure but not over pressure at 2000-3000 ft above sea level at 45 deg. F. The temp is going to go up during the day and by noon it's gonna be 80 deg. F. Even with temp stable powder your velocity is going to go up. Why not pre-load with a 1/2 grain in powder to off set the increase in temp as the morning warms up. Example: first string preloaded at 50.5 H4350, second string 50g H4350 and third string at 49.5g 4350. This would keep you in "tune" and consistent at 2800 fps as the day warms up... This is similar to what benchrest shooters do, they know humidity and temp changes that affect the powder they use. They adjust on the fly but it seems like you could do the same, just preload for it since we don't have time to reload between strings. As long as you can forecast the weather you can pre determine your loads.

Bryan, did you actually win something from the number posted to text him?
@@davidsalsedo8389 not sure that I ever received that. Just a like to my comment I think. If I did, I didn't call the number or anything

Sounds like a standard scam post to me. Most channels have them at the moment
He's absolutely awesome for sure!!
Already watching this again. Thank you both!

What a pleasant evening guys! Thanks so much for the content. But since I’m a greedy bastard, you need to make the next one longer!
Thank you Erik and Speedy! Even for a person that’s not competing the information you guys provide is so valuable.
Good discussion, thank you. Listened to this while I was reloading some "practice " ammo

Thanks to both of you....................... Excellent !!
Exceptional discussion gentlemen! Good ES/SD was mentioned throughout the segment....so what does good look like numerically? Thanks

Exellent interview
Congratulations on your win 🏆it would be nice to see podcast with speedy and you just talking guns
Great interview, informing and entertaining.
Beautiful stuff guys! Loved every minute of this :)
Great job Speedy! It’s good to see Erik in the hot seat.
I’m going to watch this live stream 7 more times! Boom! Mind blown 🤯
Best Interview so far.
Absolutely excellent, learning a lot.
Great Interview!
Thank you, amazing insight even for a seasoned shooter. 👍
Eric I get the load development goal of low ES & SD! But I'm finding that seating depth impacts those numbers. Do you re-do the powder load ladder for each potential seating depth?? A little procedure reveal would help -- Thanks Tom
When you get your PCP air rifle do the same to the hammer spring as you do to your firing pin spring.
Great podcast huge amount of information
I don’t think you are saying enough about the tuners. If you sell the tuners, you should explain in detail on how to get the most advantage out of the tuner.
Congrats Eric! Nice job!
These guys know so much it’s crazy.
I could watch for 3 more hours ! this was great !
Awesome interview! What made you go with kahles instead of nightforce or shmid n bender etc? Is it that they don't track well?
Great interview
Great interview Guys.
Lots of great info from two great shooters
Favorite interview yet. Tons of nuggets.
Great job Eric and Speedy
That was fantastic as usual
Great show
Congratulations Dr Cortina!!
You couldn’t have done it without my 14$ a month!!
Cheers!
Thank you both.
Congratulations Sir!
Great info! Comical! Lefties are always right! I do appreciate you both for giving up the secrets thanks to Speedy 😂

Love the interrogation. It all started with Speedy's impromptu interview. Look at this channel now.

I know that the factory savage actions are not bench rest action but have either of you ever done any firing pin clearance on a savage bolt
wasn’t sure what die to buy. Now I know i just need to wait until yours is released. Make them the way you think they should be. I want to learn a proven way before expirimenting.

Great info
Very impressive on so many levels
This was one of the best you have done yet. Now swap sides. We need speedy to do a tell all.
Eric, can you recommend a decent Chrono for someone just starting off load development? I cant afford lab Radar. Would be very nice to be able to read from a smartphone as well. Your thoughts. Thanks brother Eric.
watching for the second time and I really appreciate the wind tips

I doubt it. Runout is a sizing die issue. Fix it there. A humble lee collet die makes perfect straight necks.
Are these podcast available on Spotify or similar providers?
