Thank you for posting this. I have fond memories of playing this game with my father. He is gone now but this video helps me remember our cherished times together.
I remember playing it as a kid and i wanted to play it again 2 decades later and couldn’t remember the name nor could i find any mention of this game. Thank you so much!
A really fun game I'm surprised they mentioned Hephaestus and Athena as Zeus' kids while that's true in the actual myths it was never mentioned in the film or series.
When I played this as a kid, I got stuck at Crete for a while wondering how to get the OK to get access to Daedalus. The merchant’s statues did nothing to please the guy in charge and I remember going to bed asking myself “How tf do I get to the labyrinth?” That night, I had a brief dream. From black my vision faded into the scene with the merchant and his shit-eating grin… and at his side, I noticed a golden statue off to the side shaped like a bull. The next morning, lo and behold, I turned on the game, and that gold bull statue was actually there. And it actually got me access to the labyrinth. I’ll never forget that experience. I’ve beaten hundreds of video games but this is the only one I remember where my subconscious mind actually showed me how to proceed.
The questionnaire I always hated because I thought "WOW I earned this medal wow I'm so smart" and then Hades comes in and shrinks my madel down for me being stupid!! It was the most frustrating thing ever!!
I actually used to play *this* when I was a kid, and it scared me the most that any other game I played then. The reason? Because of uncanny valley dub. See, I'm Russian. I played it with Russian dub. From the 90's to the beginning of 00's, Russia was, well, not a rich country. If we had any dubs, they were mostly churned out by amateur studios, and the dub for this game... I don't know. In my opinion, this game was dubbed in Russian by demon-possessed maniacs. All of the lines were mumbled so incoherently, out of context (picture Czechoslovakian episodes of Tom and Jerry), and sometimes with questionable translation, that, combined with barely-recognizable text and "pixels-sticking-out" art style, it felt incredibly outlandish and "not there". What an experience, I say. Unforgettable.
@@DangerousBoy Just found a Russian let's play, and, I'll have to say, it actually relates to about 70% of the lines, due to being recorded with lots of reverb and bad quality. The translation itself, in fact, was pretty spot-on.
@@Ajoura please link to the Russian let's play? Russian was my first language but I played this as a kid in English and I'm curious to hear how awful the dub is :)

I remember that the minigames may be replayed by clicking on the pedestals, with higher levels of difficulty. I wish you had covered those in your videos (particularly Charon's part - the ghosts' designs are interesting!)
32:26 Keith David The Voice of Goliath from Gargoyles, The voice of Apollo the God of Light from Hercules & later both The voice of Marmo from Kulipari & The Voice of King Andrias from Amphibia.
Anybody else notice that they changed Artemis' design for the Hercules TV show? Here and in the movie, she didn't have horns and her hair is in an updo. In the movie, she's green-skinned too. 32:14
Adding to this, Daedalus' design here is based on that of the painter from the first movie ("Keep your toga on, pal!"). The Daedalus from the series is at least three times bulkier and is bald.
I noticed some of the tunes are recycled (as MIDI remixes, possibly) from the platform game for PS1 and PC (e.g. Nessus' boss theme at 37:26, Vortex of Souls, Hades' final boss theme at 1:33:00).
Old games website should have it. You gotta pay for them to own them though. You may also need a virtual machine but sometimes they modify them to run on dosbox
Bless you for this upload, reminiscing on a core piece of my childhood 😍 😌

Glad you found it again! Enjoy!
1:35:10 This is probably the ONLY time we EVER get to hear Hades say Persephone's name ^^
Demeter in this game also mentions her daughter being with Hades.
My childhood!! 😍😍It was like a movie you can play 🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for this awesome video

"Well now you can see what I'm doing "

They did the same for Cupid.

How are you playing this?
Nostalgia
Enjoy!
Considering you play a lot of Disney games, might I recommend Kingdom Hearts since its debut on PC this late March?
I will definitely check it out! Thanks
May your heart be your guiding key, my friend! Now if you'll excuse me, I best be making tracks to great destinations!
This is some wisdom! I like it
