@@SohailAmin Yeah I know that bit as I myself lived & worked in Melbourne for 8yrs legally, but here it's about ILLEGAL migration. These illegal migrants will not be able to work legally as they will not have the documents for it so as a result I am assuming majority of them would get hugely exploited and underpaid by their employers as they always will have a fear of getting deported if Govt finds out. There is a huge difference in migrating somewhere legally & illegally that's the whole point here.

The basic math is easy. They around earn 2 Lac per month there, even if you save 25% its still 50k per month. Which a salary these unskilled can never even dream of in India. And these houses they built for their parents back in the villages is what motivates the remaining youth to also take the trip.

That's not the problem with the movie. The problem is that Rajkumar Hirani did not show enough about the Dunki process. He rather put more emphasis on the love story of the hero and heroine, which was not needed. The whole 2nd half of the movie felt dragged.

I watched the movie last night and I was moved!!!😢 It's a must watch movie actually. I don't know why they found it a "1 time watch". I returned to my country,Mauritius after studying in Germany and my job seeker's visa ended. And somehow I want to go again, but not at the cost of my life. It's already difficult even if you're there legally and know the basic of the language, it must be harder for am illegal worker. I worked at a Italian restaurant, in the salad and dessert section, after having my master degree, while on the lookout for a professional job, which I didn't get. On the last day of my visa date, I got out of the country and went to France and visited my relatives before returning. I wouldn't recommend the Dunki/Donkey route to anyone.

It took him 2 to 3 months to reach US and he has no danger cause he will be able to live thr under some rule of US. Patehtic, I would say when young folks do not want to study and prefer spending thr parents money.

I can understand the desire for a better standard of living that encourage people to leave home. India is allegedly rich country so why can it not raise standards so its citizens and talents stay put. Soon we in UK will be looking for better life elsewhere as with millions and millions coming here taking up precious resources ,where can we go? England is the only home we have known since birth As England is becoming a 3rd world country too. We are 4th generations indians ,our grand parents were invited over after the 2nd world war and came with £1 in pocket worked hard for buy houses, done menial jobs.
Now their grand kids cant afford to buy homes due to housing crisis caused by immigrants ,NHS creaking, standard of living so low.
What use if we boast booming economy still unemployment is so high.
