This is a very sensitive rendition of a well-known patriotic song, which was released on a 1968 7-inch Melodya EP. He recorded it again at the end of his career, with the Red Star group, and this is also on my channel. This recording is by far the better - Belyaev is at his peak and the high C at the end is as good as you'll ever hear anywhere.
Accompanied by the Russian Instrumental Ensemble under E Misailov.
The words describe the vast beauty and variety of Russia, the homeland. It is a proud love song to a country.
