From our review:
Several months ago we got the Samyang AF 75mm F1.8 for review. This lens is part of Samyang's growing family of AF lenses and more specifically the small, light, and affordable line which they refer to as the "tiny but almighty".
The AF 75mm F1.8 is a focal length that used to be popular back in the film days before 85mm became more common. It is also worth mentioning that last year we looked at another member of this line - the AF 45mm f/1.8 FE which performed quite well.
As we typically do, we shall start with the design and build before we move over to performance and give you the final verdict.

What a thorough review. Well done!
Very useful review. Thank you.
Very good testing, thanks.
I bought this lens a couple of months ago. I've been very happy with it and with it's performance and with images produced with it. At it's price point, it's a winner.
Personally like the option of switching the focus ring to control aperture, considering that 99 out of 100 times I'm using autofocus anyways. Plus, I believe the updated version gives you the option to use the switch to select focus modes.
Sounds like quality control is still an issue for Samyang, given the difference between the first and second copy.
A bit confusing. At around 3:33 you say the lens isn't really that sharp until at F4. Then later on you say it's sharper than the 85mm 1.8 wide open in the corners and center. Which is it? Was the performance test at 4:06 with the second copy?
The test was with the second copy. As for your first question - it can be both - the Sony 85mm is not a super sharp lens (it's not a bad lens just not as sharp as you might think) you can also see our review of the Sony 85mm f/1.8 vs. the Sigma 85mm f/1.4 - we talk about issues with the sharpness of both lenses there in-depth:

@@IddoGenuth Thank you.
@@IddoGenuth it's one of the sharpest lenses from Sony. Not sure how you came to these results. Tested by me personally and several sources like DXO, DPR etc.
@@infrontofstrangers We test each lens the same way (go over our lens review list, we tested over 100 different lenses over the years). There might be copy variations and it's always possible that you got a very sharp copy and we got a particularly bad one - from my perspective, unless I see awful results I don't ask for a second copy. Regardless - I always urge people to read/watch several different reviews before buying a lens, it gives a better perspective of things.
What is the name of extension for a browser which allow you to track the price?
Not sure how it is specifically relevant to this video but there are all sorts of extensions. We use Keepa for Amazon but there are many many others.
Nice one. Keep it up.
Thanks! we have have several other lenses in different stages of testing - the rest of 2020 is going to be interesting in this respect.
P.S. we are just adding all the images to the article (the link will be in the box below the video later today).
@@LensVid Great! Looking forward for those videos.
Really weather sealing?
As noted in the video/article review: "The lens has no weather sealing so be mindful of using it in the rain".
