The Fender Stratocaster and Gibson Les Paul are arguably one of the biggest rivals in the guitar world but when they are played at the same time. They just sound phenomenal!
nah, they might have been a few decades ago (and still probably are in terms of rivaling for them sweet dentist in midlife crisis bucks) but fender is up and away by a factor of three to five times the instruments being played by actual musicians. Gibsons are near exstinct with musicians under 40 in most genres. I work the FOH in a club and do two to three shows a week. In every band there is at least one fender. Maybe I run across one single gibson every 6 months or so.
@darillio you are fully entitled to your opinion, but to call "Gibsons for under 40s extinct" is a bit much. In the local bands where I am, I see just as many Gibsons as Fenders. But I fully respect your opinion.
@@ithemba I have to Agree you see fenders everywhere, Gibby's are nowhere to be seen. You might see some Epiphones but not many full fat Gibsons. I also watched the Glastonbury highlights last year and there wasn't many Gibson's even there.

Love it when Digital John goes analogue. Some amazing jams with my 2 favourite presenters. Firmly in the belief that in a Rock band, nothing pairs as well in the mix as an LP and a Strat. The combination of deep chunk and spanky highs is amazing.

Bro, I knew Rabea was a killer guitar player, but this is John surprised me with his playing. I never really watched any of his playing in the other videos, but imma have to go back and watch them now. I’m definitely stealing some of those licks tho
I'm a huge LP fan but I thought CS sounded really thin and tinny when playing lead. I wouldn't swap any of mine for it. The Strat on the other hand sounded really nice

I also consider the Gibson Les Paul SG Custom ‘63 Reissue (3-pickup, Maestro Lyre Vibrola, all gold hardware), in whichever variation of white, the co-Holy Grail… a Fender Strat ‘55-‘59 custom finished in sunburst has also got to be up there, too… it’s simply IMPOSSIBLE to award this designation to just ONE guitar, singularly. TRIFECTA!
@@HSTRTGMS three pickup gibsons are less versatile with factory wiring than 2 pickup ones, middle pickup position is useless and on top of that the middle pickup gets in the way of picking, cool to look at but impractical.

Played that strat a few weeks ago when a friend was shopping for a new guitar. It was amazing, but ended up coming second to a master built ultra relic tele
You two rascals literally picked the best instruments on display there. I would have gone for exactly these two guitars, unbelievable as it may seem. Nothing says style more than a Black Beauty and nothing says SRV more then Bea. Excellent choice there. Please, thank Lee as soon as he finishes crying in the backstage.
They're actually a really good duo. I'd watch them do a sound like with modelers.

That Murphy Lab Black Beauty is to die for, she sings like a songbird
