I worked at a hotel, night shift, he came down at 2am because he couldn't sleep. Sat with the staff for an hour, and we were all starstruck. He was exactly what you'd think he would be. Charming, regal and talked to the staff . I met many celebrities working there, but he's always at the top. Just a classic.
Vincent Price always struck me as one of the kindest, sweetest and most gentle people who ever worked in Hollywood. It must’ve been an absolute pleasure to know him personally. I’m sorry I never got to meet him.
How to be a downer maybe when he got older I heard he was very nasty and not very nice to certain individuals I don't know how much that's true but I wouldn't want to know that he was nasty to people you seem like a pleasant guy
He was the only actor who had in his contract that he would perform once a year on the radio. He loved old time radio. Take a listen to his appearance on... Suspense!
Knowing Vincent, Christopher and and Peter were best friends is such an amazing joy. Christopher did such an amazing tribute to them which is available on his channel. I love Vincent and miss them one and all.
vincent was so awesome, pit and the pendulum, last man on earth, house of wax, dr. phibes , the list goes on and on , i grew up watching all his old scary movies
Vincent Price was loved here in Britain, and we were so lucky he worked here for many years. Theatre of Blood was filmed here A lot of great British stars appeared in that film with Vincent.
Indeed! His 3rd wife was acclaimed Brit actress Coral Browne & they stayed married until her passing. He said in interviews that he always loved being in the UK.
Met Vincent Price on St Louis’ walk of Fame years ago and got to know members of the Price family. Their father owned The Price Candy Company in st Louis. The nicest man.
2 Legends of the Entertainment World. I so enjoy Vincent in all his rolls. Had no clue he was so interested in American Art. I had heard he was quite the chef. Must be nice to be a man of so many talents. Rest in Peace Mr Price. Our eyes are raised & still watching U. Many Blessings All 🙏🇺🇸
Great interview, Vincent also told that story about being likened to Boris Karloff on the plane when he appeared on THIS IS YOUR LIFE for his friend, Sir Christopher Lee
What an amazing flashback. Vincent Price was a fantastic talent. My mom met him when he visited Movieland Wax Museum in Buena Park back in the 1980s. He adored and loved his fans and treated them with the utmost respect. So sad I never met him.
Very clever film. Love the beauty salon scene from Henry V..."Joan of Arc" gets her hair done in "flame red" with a hint of "ash" by "Butch" her hairdresser 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Hit 200k today. Thank you for all the knowledge and nuggets you had thrown my way over the last months. Started with 14k last year 2023, God bless America ❤️🇺🇲
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Angela Marie Brown) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her Brisbane Australia🇭🇲
Vincent Price was also a great dramatic actor. His role of Roper in "Master of The World" was right up there with James Mason's Capt. Nemo for "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".
Theatre of blood was superb, with an extraordinary British cast. It has the added extra of suggesting to horror fans the idea of acquainting themselves with Shakespeare. The film is full of memorable scenes brilliantly portrayed. They should have done a sequel where Lionheart or his daughter somehow survive and cone back to wreak further revenge. (Oh dear, spoiler).
In 1972 a friend of the family took me to the theater to see Charlie's Aunt starting Roddy Mcdowell and Vincent Price. After the show to the stage for for autographs and Vincent Price walked out the door wearing a cape with a walking stick and took the time to say hello and at 6 years old I thought that was the coolest thing ever.
Thanksfor sharing such a wonderfully heartwarming story! A lot of big stars don't take the time to interact with their fans. Great to know that the late great Mr. Price was so kind!
You always notice that all the classic horror stars have great voices and are so cultured such as Carradine, lugosi, lee , zooco and the true legends of horror
@lauramcelhiney I am from California, live in San Fernando, 70 years old, in the early 1960s, would watch shock theater on channel 5 in the LA market, they run old classic monster movies and also had famous monsters of film land magazines, the monster models from Aurora, I am old school. From lugosi , the first classic horror actor to the last in Lee., all those actors, Karloff, Carradine, price , Atwill, zooco, Chaney, Lorre and Lee, those are the horror greats, hope you are a fan of their horror movies. I have no social media, just a horror fan.
The late great Mr Price appeared in MANY films that were not horror pictures, going all the way back to the beginning of his career (Laura, Leave Her to Heaven, Dragonwyck, The Three Muskateers, The Bribe, His Kind of Woman, The Las Vegas Story, Champagne for Ceasar & many many more).
sir Vincent Price you will be missed a great well rounded actor of multiple genres i did see him paint in a few scenes of bikini beach the Frankie and Annette, movie in Big Drags place Price was like this speechless awesome Guru painting and observing everything and never spoke til the end, then after played in Dr. Goldfoot movie series he just rocks in anything he stars in
friend of mine, bought a windowed "66 caddy hearse, she was a teacher, and she brought it to school one day, with a caskett in the back. One kid asked, "why do you have a caskett in the back"? she said, "where would you keep it?
Vincent did a brilliant film here in England, about the activities of Matthew Hopkins, it was called ''Witchfinder General'' a monster selling himself to catch so called witches amongst simple village folk. Well worth a look.
Listen to Vincent in real life, being so soft spoken and eloquent, it's almost hard to imagine he's one of the greatest ever horror stars, if you hadn't seen one of his films you wouldn't correlate him with the genre.
My late father who was a very highly successful business man and a gourmet chef earlier even when he was in the military (long story) was fascinated by how much of a gourmet cook Price was until our mother told him about his horror movies then he was shocked and repulsed. I have understood by watching some of the outtakes it's all acting but haven't watched a horror movie in many years.
His manners were impeccable & he had a wide variety of interests. And he seemed to really like people. Therefore I personally think he'd have been a wonderful talk show host.
House of Wax with a young Charles Bronson was a scary ass movie for a nine year old to watch late at night on a sleepover. Greatly entertaining gentleman.
All Vincent Price fans should listen to the new Vincent Price tribute podcast "Deadliest Meal" about the deadliest TV show ever produced. It's part food, part travel and part murder!
Johnny was the best because he was "interested." All the hosts now are constantly trying to be "interesting." Sanity is INTERESTED and insanity is INTERESTING. Interested is an "outflow" of attention. Interesting is an "inflow" of attention. Ever met some girl that needs attention all the time or a guy? Now you know.
@chrisross-fd3fo. There were time periods when Cass lost substantial amounts of weight. It was up and down I think. Her daughter looked nothing like her but hr Granddaughter looks exactly Iike her in the face.
We long the passing of the master. Price is and was a class act and will long live in our hearts :)
I heartily concur !
Cultured,gentleman,brilliant!
Theatre of Blood is such a fun movie. Highly recommend it to anyone who has not seen it.
"A remarkable performance. He was overacting as usual, but he knew how to make an exit."
I worked at a hotel, night shift, he came down at 2am because he couldn't sleep. Sat with the staff for an hour, and we were all starstruck. He was exactly what you'd think he would be. Two legends in casual conversation is its own work of art.
I have a notion to second THAT emotion !
Vincent Price was such a great actor. Him, Peter Lorre and Boris Karloff were so good together!
You speak the truth, Kemo Sabe !
Vincent Price always struck me as one of the kindest, sweetest and most gentle people who ever worked in Hollywood. It must’ve been an absolute pleasure to know him personally. I’m sorry I never got to meet him.
Very sophisticated man. Great gourmet chef, too.
How to be a downer maybe when he got older I heard he was very nasty and not very nice to certain individuals I don't know how much that's true but I wouldn't want to know that he was nasty to people you seem like a pleasant guy

I met him in Greensboro, NC forty years ago. I’ll never forget it. He was a remarkable gentleman, kind and thoughtful.
Well said and well put. Vinnie, Boris & Peter were all known to be kind gentle souls offscreen.
What talent in that studio. I really miss Johnny.
Could not agree more !
RIP to all 4. Time goes by fast people. Enjoy life now, not tomorrow.
Facts. 🎭🧸
As I do when I take off my hat, you make a good point !!
Here here.
I LOVE this film! It's a wonderful ride. I highly recommend it.
Indeed! I went to see "Theater of Blood" when it first came out. One of Vinnie's best.
Just sitting here wishing the same thing. Love the days sitting up late on the weekends watching Johnny Carson
Knowing Vincent, Christopher and and Peter were best friends is such an amazing joy. Christopher did such an amazing tribute to them which is available on his channel. I love Vincent and miss them one and all.
Price even left a favorite old-fashioned hat to Lee when he died. Lee faithfully wore every Christmas Day until his own death.
@pendorran That's friendship beyond measure.
vincent was so awesome, pit and the pendulum, last man on earth, house of wax, dr. phibes , the list goes on and on , i grew up watching all his old scary movies
His voice and his acting are INIMITABLE. ❤❤❤
I agree 100 percent !!
Great intelligent discussion and dialogue; sorely missed in 2024
That's for sure !!
Vincent Price was loved here in Britain, and we were so lucky he worked here for many years. Theatre of Blood was filmed here A lot of great British stars appeared in that film with Vincent.
Loved this! ❤
British horror was the best. He was in quite a few of them. I utterly adore Vincent.
Indeed! His 3rd wife was acclaimed Brit actress Coral Browne & they stayed married until her passing. He said in interviews that he always loved being in the UK.
Quite true.
Years ago, I used to always think Vincent Price was British. Anyone else the same? maybe cos Christopher Lee & Peter Cushing were British.
Class act Vincent & Theatre of Blood is a good laugh.
I totally agree !!
Met Vincent Price on St Louis’ walk of Fame years ago and got to know members of the Price family. Their father owned The Price Candy Company in st Louis. The nicest man.

Great interview, Vincent also told that story about being likened to Boris Karloff on the plane when he appeared on THIS IS YOUR LIFE for his friend, Sir Christopher Lee
A good moment of human history on this night. Cultural lessons are always a blessing. Both Johnny & Vincent showed some good knowledge of the craft.
Vincent Price is an American treasure. ❤
Vincent price was a fine actor, consultant of fine art and a gourmet cook. His cookbook and recipes are amazing and delicious!
Hi Matt
Loved this clip -- thanks for posting! Hilarious 😂
I too really enjoyed watching this clip. Big fan of the late great Mr. Price !
Vincent was very underrated as an actor. He didn’t only do horror he was a good dramatic actor.
Indubitably !!
He was also a gourmet chef and author of cook books. His talents and personal interests made him amazing.
Not underrrated at all. Very successful. He received several lifetime achievement and special tribute awards. And other awards.
Laura!👍
I remember Vincent with his TV work. He hosted Mystery! on PBS and also did some Hollywood Squares. RIP.

Vincent was a Very universal actor. From "The Raven" to Alice Cooper's "Black Widow" to Edward Scissorhands. One of the best!
How right you are !!
I would have loved love to have heard Vincent do a long talk about art.
Theater of Blood...great picture
Yes! It's quite an entertaining film with and superb cast!
Nice to see two of my favourite Americans talking.
That's my favorite Price movie... love seeing him do Shakespeare
Very clever film. Love the beauty salon scene from Henry V..."Joan of Arc" gets her hair done in "flame red" with a hint of "ash" by "Butch" her hairdresser 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

I remember watching this live, I was 8 in 1973
You were up rather later that night, weren't you ??
Hey Mark
How I wish I was 8 again trying to sneak out of bed to watch Johnny Carson. Vincent Price, a wonderful actor in my favorite genre.
So very true !
Same here. Would stay up with my mom when I had a stomach ache and watch him with her.
My mom loved Johnny. She passed 6 months ago. I miss her.
@stevenmcwilliam6945 I'm so sorry. My parents are gone also. Imm wishing you peace and joy.
Michael Jackson's Thriller wouldn't have been the same without his voice.

I could not agree more !!
Very true.
Brilliant movie. Brilliant actor.
This was wonderful, and I love the movie "Theatre of Blood," but I wish we could have heard Cass sing a song!
Hello there Carol, how are you doing?
Price manages to smoke his cigarette without being obvious
I saw this movie when I was 10. I still sleep with the bed sheets over my neck, because of that bedroom scene. Still freaks me out. Great actor.
Hi 👋
Vincent Price was also a great dramatic actor. His role of Roper in "Master of The World" was right up there with James Mason's Capt. Nemo for "20,000 Leagues Under the Sea".
I believe Vincent Price played Robur, not Roper, in Master of the World.
As Snagglepuss would say, "Indubitably!"
Theatre of Blood is a great movie.
Great interview
It sure is !
He was wonderful in " The Song Of Bernadette."

Well said and well put, I must say! THANKS for sharing!
My favourite roles, of his, was "The Song of Bernadette" about, "Our Lady" appearing to St. Bernadette, at Lourdes. Mr. Price was a French Prosecutor
What a treasure wish he was still with us. That laugh! His love for art … the he fires up! 😭

I used to watch his cookery programme on ITV , i think it was on , on Wednesday nights in the London area.

I think the most terrifying part of this video is Carson’s jacket.
Ha Good one ! Strange to think that such patterns were popular at one time.
VP was a legend. Don't forget his voice was used on Michael Jackson's song (and video) Thriller!
He was such a good conversationalist.

Hello there Gleen, how are you doing
Got to see The Great Man onstage in Damn Yankees.
Love Vincent Price films campy, tongue in cheek, with a touch of sinister.
My dad passed recently. He was a big Carson fan. He would always say "its bedtime for Bonzo" as he got up from his chair.
Although Vincent Price is best remembered for starring in horror films, he also portrayed the ill-fated overseer Baka in THE TEN COMMANDMENTS.

He was dull and overrated...and his ego in his heyday made him a jerk to other people. It's alluded to in the current SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE Film.

Johnny Carson was a great late night host…unlike Colbert, Kimmel and the other leftist oddballs. Loved Vincent Price in Dr. Phibes.
Who else is here after the movie : the Late Night with the Devil?
