Brian Demers I turned off the volume and followed along replacing my battery at the same time. It was very easy to watch and follow. I can't imagine what you are not able to understand.
Seriously dude. Thank you do much for this video. I was having difficulty because the battery was slightly out of place. I was afraid I would have to purchase a new one even though I am still on a plan. All I needed to do was open it up and reconnect some things. Again thank you so much. You saved me money and time. Absolute hero.
vastly better than the totally crap printed and badly shot instructions that came with my replacement battery. if I had seen this video first, I would not have spent hours cracking the slate open and buggering up the seams in the process. and gotten the ribbon cables connected right, THE FIRST TIME. THANK YOU!
Thanks a lot for super clear no nonsense video.Fixed mine. Important, when taking cover off, do it as you do, slide the flat edge along and it will pop up avoiding cosmetic case gouges. I used fine flat screwdriver, and a thin kitchen knife to pop off the connecter cable connectors inside.
Worked a treat to replace my TAB 4's swollen battery. Only things to add from my experience is the back cover was harder to get off than it looked in the video and I had a couple of extra bits of tape holding the cables down which needed taking off before opening the cable clamps. Great helping video. Thankyou.
Great video! Took me about 20 mins.. Bought my battery kit and tools from A1 parts Quebec, Canada, but there was no instructions so this was very helpful
Very helpful! Stopped using my Galaxy Tab 4 because it doesn't hold a charge very well. And, I just ordered the batter for it that comes with a set of tools! Although I have a PC workstation I built and a MacBook Pro, getting the use of the Galaxy Tab 4 back into my tech quiver is something I've been needing for a while.
Great video. Well done, thanks! I'd add a note that, on mine at least, the back is pretty tough to get started separating - it's a tight precision fit! Had to be patient and keep working at it with a very thin tool. I also had to use a small tip tool (my little Philips tip) to press down the sides of the battery connector till they clipped into place. Just pressing the connector down with my thumb would not lock the edges. cheers jt 😎
thank you for the video tutorial...I would like to add 1 thing: it is a better idea to use a plastic safe tool or device other than a metal pry tool to unclip the battery plug. As I unclipped it from underneath as shown, I saw a very small spark. Thankfully no damage, but it doesn't take much to ruin electronics. Just a small tip... thanks again.
Fixing a screen on similar 7.0 thanks for the case crack video. Really wish you took it to glass repair as no one has yet. I'll be winging this thanks again for the important first step!!
I just did my daughter's... didn't even need to unplug those ribbon wires.. unplugged it, took screws out.. popped it loose and slid it out the side... 10 minutes done.. thanks for the video.. it gave me the courage to try
Will this help to reboot the system, to unplug the battery and the plug everything back in? I have a black screen and have already tried unpluging the LCD cable and plugged it back in. Just wondering if this process with help.
THE VERY FIRST THING TO DO.. is to remove sim &/or sd card. The outter edge of the sd card broke-off as I was snapping the back on afterwards. My bad- should´ve thought of it myself. Very good dyi video. -Cheers!
What are the dimensions of the battery? I may want to order on Batteries Plus. After you have taken the screws, there are those gray "snap" tabs; you seem to just run the tool under the tabs- it it that easy? Thanks for the confidence.
I'm having trouble finding the battery for model #CE0168 - galaxy tab 4 10 inch screen. If I let my battery get below 70%, it takes 2 days to charge it. It has always been like this, so I thought replacing the battery would be a good idea - I just can't find one. There's plenty for the tab 3 - would that work?
Thanks for the video mate. Simple enough to follow and enough good information to get the job done. For anyone wanting to have a creak at this, I'd previously never attempted anything like this before and have limited tech knowledge. A few things I noted. A bit of common sense, moving past the fear of wrecking your tablet, that is probably not working right anyway otherwise you wouldn't be here, and patience got me over the line. I struggled getting the piece of crap plastic tool in place to get the back off. I broke the end off it. I used my fingernail to open the case far enough to get what was left of the tool in place. I used a blade to get the edge of the green tape up, slowly, being careful not to damage the ribbons. I did not put the green tape back on. When I lifted the locking tab things on the ribbons, I thought I had to pull the ribbons up to get them out. Turns out they just slide out not up. Getting the battery out of the chassis, I found I moved around all the corners trying to get one to click loose because I didn't want to force anything. Maybe I could have used more force but I'm a noob and wasn't sure. Once I clicked one up the rest were easier. Removing the battery lead was as the video showed. I initially looked for another lock thing that I had to lift but couldn't find one so turned the battery over and pryed the plug out. Putting the new battery back in was easy. The power plug from the new battery just pressed on, the same way it came off. The ribbons slide back in to where they came from and the locking tab thing that I lifted to get them out just presses down, evenly and gently, to hold them in place. I used the plastic piece of crap too to make sure it went down evenly. Put the screws back in and it really is that simple. Before I put the back back on, I powered mine up to check it first. It was fine, no information or anything lost. I powered it down and fully charged it with the back off. I wanted to see if the new generic battery got overly hot or went bang or puffed up or something before putting the back on. It was all good and literally saved my tablet. Couldn't have,or rather, wouldn't have, done it without this video.
So I have the same tablet and so part of the battery is like puffed up not much do and it’s not the one that has te trash picture is the one next to it/stuck to (the one with the little bar code)
While power is off holding power button + volume up + home button will bring device into recovery mode. Just make sure if you hard reset and wipe it, it will basicaly reset to factory default and remove any firmware updates meaning if you say have upgraded to 5.0 it will down grade it to what ever it was initaly installed with. Might fix some booting problems , never had to try this but might work Just a thought.
MY TABLET IS STUCK ON THE DEAD ANDROID PAGE - "NO COMMAND" WILL NOT RESPOND TO FACTORY RESET/WIPE OR SNYOTHER CHOICE. PUT IN FREEZER OVER NIGHT CUZ IT WOULD NOT TURN OFF. AM THAWING IT OUT SO I CAN GET BATTREY OUT. IF I TAKE BATTERT OUT & BACK IN SHOILD I CHAGE IT FIRST OR TURN IT ON TO SEE IF IT WILL NOT GO BSCK TO THE DEAD ANDROID SCREEN? IT STARTED WHEN I WAS RESTARTING MY TABLET & IT CAME TOTHE PAGE I NEVER SEEN BEFORE. PLEASE HELP IF POSSIBE... IF IT DOESNT WORK ITS DEAD RIGHT? SAMSUNG SAID TOO OLD TO HELP/ GET PARTS. THANKS!
I still use my metal iSeasemo Ultra Thin Steel Pry Tool! I'm just sure to get beneath the screen and pry up the entire LCD assembly. Metal Pry Tools can do alot of unnecessary damage if you do not proceed carefully. You are wise to mention this. I can't get nothing done with those elcheapo plastic safe pry tools. Waste of time. You want mine you can have them.
Great video, but you only covered 1/2 the job. There were a few hitches putting it back together, which would have made it nice if you had shown how you put the new battery in. Do you put the old tape on (mine wouldn't stick so I used some Scotch tape) and which way the 3 wire clamps are pushed down.
Is it important to put that green tape back on? I replaced the battery in my husband’s Tab 4 but forgot to tape the stuff back. Is it insulating or something? Thanks - great instructions and the Tab works great!
Looks easy to change the battery. I just bought one off ebay cheap and the battery dies within a couple of hours use and takes hours to charge. Just need to buy a genuine battery and not a fake.
In a world full of lame, poorly shot instructional videos that dont really show anything useful, this was PERFECT...thank you. Nicely done
Brian Demers I turned off the volume and followed along replacing my battery at the same time. It was very easy to watch and follow. I can't imagine what you are not able to understand.
Janet Gale he Just said that the vid was perfect
Finally a video without music so I can actually listen to what’s happening
Seriously dude. Thank you do much for this video. I was having difficulty because the battery was slightly out of place. Excellent tutorial. Exactly what I need to replace my battery. Thanks.
Perfect, right to the point. Thanks for your time for posting this. I wish all helpful videos could be as good.

Great video. I followed the instructions and for the first time ever trying something techie..... It worked perfectly. Much appreciated 👍👍👍
Thank you very much for sharing this ! I replaced my battery in no time (without breaking anything !)
Very generous of you !
Great video! Took me about 20 mins.. Bought my battery kit and tools from A1 parts Quebec, Canada, but there was no instructions so this was very helpful

Where can you get such prying tool ?
My tablet has been through hell hope this will work
Does the back cover pop back on or do you have to glue it?
The clicking sound when he disassembles it indicates tha it popson and of with no glue required
