Very good video with great tips for bikepacking. I also have a gravel bike I use everyday for my daily activities. In the 1980s e 1990s, I used to buy 10 speed bicyles and adapt them for daily use. Their frames allowed thicker tyres. I used to go bikepacking with friends to other towns around. Then, mountain bikes appeared and soon I adapted them for daily use too. One day, driving downtown a spotted what I thought was a road bike with thicker tyres and disk breaks. Some time after, I was passing by a bicycle shop and saw this gorgeous gravel bike. I bought it immediately. Thanks.
No way, only last week we did exactly the same with the same set up....shame we are across the water from each other my friend. Great to see you out and about. Thanks for another video and sharing all the best Andy
Old but not rusty! I fell in love with your videos a year ago, those giveaways for the children, you are such a good soul. The editing of this video and also the music were perfect, keep up the good work.
I am so glad that you doing this. I am planning on doing this soon but everyone in my family and friends think I have lost my mind. Thank you for this video inspiration! 🙏❤️
Great video! I love ASMR bikepacking videos. Listening to the sounds of nature and the bike is pretty nice. I just got a gravel bike this year. Once it cools down a little, I'm going to try to do some bikepacking myself.
A ton of work but totally worth it in the end. I like the scenes back to setting up the bike from being out in the field. Love Firebox stoves! Great content as usual, pure and unpretentious, keep up the good works mate! 👏👍
Great trip and very nice video. I like the editing with these ‚snippets‘ of preparation into the first minutes. And I like your whole approach with let‘s call it normal hiking clothes and an UL wild camp. That‘s what I‘d like to call bikepacking :-)
Ciao, Old Shovel. A really successful video, combining relevant workshop images with atmospheric bike packing and camping. The chat at the end was well-scripted and to the point, no pet dogs, cute daughters, beards or craft beers. Keep 'em coming.
I was missing your commentary along the way but the wind blowing was soothing as well. Good for you taking some personal time, I wish I was able to the same.
Dude...such a relaxing video! I am going to have to watch it a second time because I may have nodded off at some point! Just what I needed after the day that I had yesterday! LOL! Thanks. New subscriber!
What a nice ride and camping! It must be very relaxing indeed. As always, nice video, and is nice to see you enjoying the lovely nature that we can see. Big hug!
Did this last year, but with a cx bike. It was a lot of fun on the way up despite the dirt bikes, UTVs and jeeps, but it was amazing!! Too much tire pressure, but amazing on the way down!
Cool, that was fun to watch. It was helpful to see the logistics required to pull off a successful trip. Would love to attempt this one day in the near future.
Looks like a great overnighter gravel bikepacking trip! I'll have to come up and join you in the summer or fall as I imagine Francis Peak and the surrounding area is even more beautiful.
Another vote for Gravelking SKs, I run mine with tubes and have had zero punctures in 2 years, despite daily abuse, and low pressure, best tyres ever. Going to try an EXT on the front in the mud soon
Very cool, very impressive .... and very COLD! Not to mention the bears and mountain lions that are around somewhere... Nope, I better stay in the warm and watch UT videos! :) Seriously, I'd love to do this myself, except for sleeping outside.
Always fun to watch your adventures. I think there is a week long high adventure bike packing trip with the scouts in your future. Find a good rail trail and you will have a blast. Keep up the great content my friend.
2x drivetrain is for those who like to ride their bicycle and not walk up steeper hills. GRX crank is good. I love your set up thou. Do you know if you can mount fenters with 40 or 50C tyre?
Great video! I’ve also become an #absoluteBLACK oval convert this year! I like that you call it Skunk Tail, I’ve always called it The Mud Butts. Great video and it’s super cool to see you out on the bikes taking advantage of the stunning and sometimes difficult terrain you’re surrounded by! Sometimes it’s getting away just for the night that recharges us! Thank You!
Brilliant, thanks. Good to see such successful minimalist camping. Was that some kind of water purifying gel you wre squeezing into your bottles? Gravel bikes and tyres are all new to me. I just have a hybrid urban bike and quite like the idea of fitting gravel tyres for forest trails. A great video. Happy and safe cycling. Greetings from Scotland.
Looks like a load of fun. Got a few more months before my gravel bike is built. I'm more of a Kodiak tent kinda guy too, that's not going on a bike hahah
What did you do for food meals? I'm interested in trying to nail down this for my future tour. Simple, efficient and properly fuels the body to keep moving
Omg. Best video on YT by miles. No irritating music, no talk....kust 1 person and his bike. Heaven

Francis Peak, Utah - one of the most beautiful pieces of land on Earth! Breathtaking!
I have friends in utah
Oh this is going to be good. Look at that mud and snow, this is life.
Love how clean the frame bag looks without straps
make sure to grease your threads a stuck bolt in a bike bag can be a bit frustrating
No way, only last week we did exactly the same with the same set up....shame we are across the water from each other my friend. Great to see you out and about. Thanks for another video and sharing all the best Andy
It would be awesome to meet up and do some rides.

1:08 tip, gear to smallest cog when taking out the wheel
Love seeing you use the bike as it was intended to be used. Nothing like a S024 to decompress from life. Well done.
I am watching this meanwhile I just ordered my Niner RLT 9 steel frame… and I have to admit that was truly inspiring .
its awesome how a bike can make a person so happy and fullfiled
The sound of the beads seating was very satisfying.

Hi friend, what kind of tent is that ? It's a one skinner but seems to be very waterproof except for condensation maybe ?
You spent a lot of money according to my understanding and economical state dude, i hope you enjoyed it!!! Ride on 😊
At 7:50 does anyone recognize what kind of camping stove base that is?
