- Hello viewers, welcome to my UA-cam video. In this video, we unbox a Casio fx-CG50 (definitely better than the TI-84 Plus CE). This is probably my favourite calculator so far.
This video was recorded on 6 Feb 2019, so you can tell how unproductive I am lol. - Наука та технологія
Am I the only one who wants a sick calculator as a present?
nope
hol up _I'm_ not the only one?
Not really
Nope
I'll sell them to buy Nintendo switch .
Awkward moment when the Ti-84 Plus CE costs almost $160, and yet an $80 Casio FX-CG50 completes the same calculations wildly faster, and even performs 3D color renderings of basic and complex geometric shapes.
And shows things in exact form a lot
Can it play mario kart tho
People buy a calculator for calculating, not for playing game. You should get a Nintendo Switch
Yes it can@@Red-ol9xg
CG50 is only 10MGhz faster
there is a Casio fx-CG50 sized hole in my soul
Mine too
Spotter and Gamer St Leonard ummm m8 don’t you have 1?
I take a Casio fx-CG50 and a Casio fx-991EX to my exams. Helps tremendously, note, they aren’t standardized tests, just tests in classes, but still.
Why both?
Anonymous I had the Classwiz for much longer than the CG50, so I took both until I fully got used to it. Now school’s closed so I have a while to get used to it.
@@phlogchamp do you know if the fx cg 50 has the same function as an ENG button on the classwiz? It converts to engineering notation fast which I find very useful. Thanks
Which one is better? The f(x)-CG50 one or the f(x)-991EX one?I ordered the f(x)-991EX one by the way on Amazon.
@@alexandrathearmy8464cg50 but harder to use
Why do I want this so bad. There is something satisfying when you get undefined after many tries and pump you to hand in the air shouting yes and realise you are so far apart from others you start to question your life choices. Yeah. That happened today when I was playing with graphs and some graphs are more interesting than others.
The Shopkeeper telling all the detail about the calculator........
Me: *Can it solve 2+2?*
As an aside, french cuffs are classy af :)
Am I the only one who collects scientific calculators
I have more than 10 of them, my mains are the fx-991 EX and the fx-9750G Plus. I really want the fx-CG50 and to put some games on it lol
I have a collection of over 50 calculators, mostly modern ones, some older/classic ones. I love them!
Does anyone know if there is a command for Laplace transform on this calculator?
nobody:
him: *lovely*
Lovely
I think it comes with micro-python programming language app from factory, right?
Yes
Hola, una consulta. En hojas de cálculo cuantas filas y columnas te permite ingresar?
I gotta love it where at 23:20 you use a Casio scientific calculator to calculate the values to enter into the variables in the Casio graphing calculator. 😂🤣
11:50
this 3d graphing calculator is really useful for shopping !
can buttons get washed out, like on fx991es plus
number pad is engraved but function buttons(upper) like sin, cos, tan are just printed on and can be rubbed off with time
How is this handled on cg50?
I can't say for sure. I haven't used it very often and the buttons are still there. It looks like they're all printed on
Can I open pdf in this calculation
is there a calculator where you can setup a form and then just enter the variables and also keep the form when you power it off?
They all have programs you can save.
Can’t lie the price is a bit peak 😭
cheaper then the ti 84 plus ce and better
How much?
£70 if u get a discount from Pearson
Can anyone please tell me it is used for Catholic binary octal hex and full adder...
Him: Quick Start Guide........
Me: Oh Yeah let's Gooo.
***We don't need that***
Me: *Audible Confusion*
i bought one for further maths a level getting it tomorrow super excited!
Getting mine on Wednesday!
Very informative and useful by the way do you take a calculator with you when you shop?
I tried it a few times but I don't do it anymore lol.
By the way, is it (on the fx-CG50) possible the use of units in the "equation solver" app like on the HP 48G series calculator from Hewlett Packard?
On the HP 48G series, when using the "equation solver" you can use units even in different system and get the solution of the variable you want. For example:
Volume of cylinder (I work with diameters rather than radius):
π × (d/2)^2 × h = V
d = 6_in
h = 1500_m
V = (solve)_bbl
With the HP 48G series, you can add units (even in different system) to each parameter. For instance you enter 6 inches (6_in) for the diameter, 1500 meters (1500_m) for the height and you want to get the volume in barrels, so you write whatever value in barrels (1_bbl). Then you press "SOLVE" on the volume and the calculator gives you the volume of the cylinder in barrels. Should you want for instance the diameter in meters instead of inches, then you write it in meters (6_m), or the volume in cubic meters or cubic feet then write the unit accordingly (1_m3 or 1_ft3). And so on. You can use any type of unit.
Is it possible the use of units on the Casio fx-CG50 in the "equation solver" like you can do on the HP 48G series?
Ya figure it out
I got the same calculator but mine used to have the last 5 icons but it no longer has them. What can I do?
Have you reset your calculator or something? They may have been deleted. You can find them on Casio's website and install them from your computer. edu.casio.com/
My best flex is that I own this and yet never use it
give me it
That’s an easy package to open. In the US they use thick antitheft packaging which is no picnic to open.
Yeah. I can't get mine open. Any tips?
Heidi Trelz I used a heavy duty utility knife with a new blade. If you have one of those gloves that protect the holding hand against cuts it would be wise to wear it. Nonslip surface. Work small sections. Be very careful as the cut plastic is also dangerous.
Interesting to know. In the UK, in WHSmith (a stationery retail chain), they don't put it on display for the public. They hang cards on the shelf and you take it to checkout, then the staff will hand you the real thing. I suppose that's theft problem solved then. I'm not sure about other retailers.
Spotter and Gamer St Leonard Some items are either locked on the display rack and an employee has to unlock and hand you the item; other items are placed in a larger plastic box that has a magnetic lock and again an employee has to take the item out of the box at checkout. They do that with the more expensive calculators but I’ve bought two calculators that I suppose they didn’t have the plastic boxes for. I don’t blame the retailers as there is rampant theft in the US. I always see packages that have been opened and the item stolen. The stores have surveillance but their security personnel are not particularly efficient although every now and then somebody will be arrested for shoplifting.
how do you not know half the things on this calculator 😭 isn’t this mainly for A level further maths
Carbon fiber decal, most definitely a mathematical pattern! jokes aside nice review off the calc!
What joke?
@@free7903 He wasn't aware that the decal was meant to emulate carbon fiber and just called it a mathematical pattern, I was just poking a bit of fun at that, nothing too offensive. That was the joke.

I have a doubt can graphic calculator does the same function as scientific calculator?
Mostly yes. Although some functions may be at a different place than what you may be used to on a non-graphing scientific calculator. One thing I noticed is that it won't display or allow you to type in recurring numbers in the form of dots on top, whereas the Casio fx-83GT X and fx-85GT X will.
Can I charge it using the cord or do I have to switch the batteries?
You have to replace batteries. The cord is only used for data transfer and cannot charge the device.
I Can understand math Formulas but i cant calculate This video Helps me Alot
Очень хороший обзор! Спасибо!
Always liked the fact that casios can use dry cells.
I'm studying in France. Here it's called GRAPH 90+E. It's sold in box and Feb 2024 I bought it for 99.99 euros. The color is also white.
does it support C programming?
Kak apakah tipe ini sudah lengkap banget?
Can I use the calculator for IGCSE‘s? Or is it forbidden?
It is permitted in GCSE, but I'm not sure about IGCSE. It probably is.

the calculator to calculator 2.5 mm jack can transfer audio to a speaker.
How to charge it?
Have you tried the Ti-84CE? I have it and I’m thinking of getting this one.
Are you referring to the TI-84 Plus CE? I got that one before this Casio one. I like the casio one better because I think the user interface is easier, and also it's faster. The TI-84 Plus CE has been around for longer so I think classrooms in the US and the UK are more used to it. Although being a good mathematician, I think it's better to get used to different types and brands of calculator.
@@lenmediastudio I have it and it’s pretty terrible in many regards and I am pretty proficient with it and calculators generally. I ordered the CG-50. In many ways even the good scientific calculators (like the Casio Classwiz FX-991EX) are better. My school recommended we get it so everyone has it (Ti-84CE T) and I feel scammed seeing what the CG-50 can do especially at a lower price.
where do you use the small cable for?
Most likely for transferring programs
Can it go on Google?
Congratulations! Screen size?
9:13 because rechargeable batteries have a lower voltage (1.2v) than non-rechargeable batteries (1.5v)
I'm terrible maths. But I want this tho lol
I got mine 2 years back and right now literally the buttons don't work so I can't navigate and I got my math test tomorrow so I am freaking out, I have resettled it multiple times too and it doesn't work
Sounds like a hardware problem. Mine is working well.
(Here cometh some stupid questions and statements)
Has the calculator been damages (you dropped it or something)? If you still have warranty or such, you can have a look into that. Alternatively, you can also take it apart, but only if you know what you're doing.
@@lenmediastudio thank you for the suggestion, I'll look up to if I have a warranty cuz I have been using it for about 2 years now, thanks again :)
Intro👌👌👌
The calculator gets me to qwerty keypad era of mobile phones which is not available wider like before or totally not available
I wonder how many Function this calculator has😅
does anyone know if you can recharge the batteries directly through the calculator
Yes you can
@@MrScarampiandres Cool!
Is this better than the TI-84 Plus CE.
In my opinion, it is. However, the TI-84 Plus has been around for longer, so I reckon people may have more experience with it. But if you are not familiar with either, I think the Casio fx-CG50 is easier to get the hang of.
Being Spanish together with English the two most important languages in the world, I wonder why the rear side of the package of this calculator (Casio fx-CG50) is written in several languages except in Spanish.
I don't see any languages other than English on the package for this specific unit in the video. However, I am aware that Casio's calculators are sometimes regional specific. That may affect what goes on the package as well even for the same model
Bias lol
Latinos are dummies they don't know how to use a calculator. It is a waste of space and ink to print Spanish.
@@sicee
1st. That's a racist comment.
2nd. I'm not latino, but Spaniard = European.
@@gcalvaro tbh I agree with you
It’s a great calculator, but I still like the TI better

what i have to do for %?
I'm not sure if there is such an option. I just put in their decimal values.
This man has some really long fingers. I have stubby little sausage fingers. Lol.
BTW - NiMH is nickel metal hydride.
Imagine if this calculator can connect to wifi. 😂😂😂
Heh, I like the warning.
Yes!!!! inject it in my veins!

I guess you still don't know about the Casio classpad fx-cp400 , it's expensive but it can do any thing hopfully.
Casio classpad fx-cp400 is like the ripoff. I know its have touch screen + also even pen / stylus and the sequence graph. Is sequence graph on the cg50? But I still hate that it uses E-CON3 instead of E-CON4. Which one’s better by the way ?
Are the batteries rechargable?
The ones that come with the box aren't. Although you can put in rechargeable batteries. Beware of the battery type you select in the menu.
@@lenmediastudio Thanks, man!
How do you change the battery type being used in the system after you change it?
Each time you put in new batteries, the device will automatically power on and the menu will automatically prompt. Aside from that, you can also go, from main menu ('MENU' button), then System (G), and scroll through to find 'Battery Settings' in which you can change battery type.
Good

Am i the only one who like scientific calculators??
Yes. No one else in this expansive world likes scientific calculators, you are the one and only, how bold of you to like something that literally nobody else likes. So brave.
Probably not. I quite like scientific calculators. In fact, I find it hard to use a non-scientific calculator lol. One thing I like about the CG50 is that you can see your previous calculations in the list, although the screen won't fit many. This feature is very useful when I'm organising things such as video editing. I like using a calculator more than a smartphone to calculate things because with a calculator, I can feel the buttons being pressed.
@@lenmediastudio Oh, i thought i'm the only one who does like scientific calculators.
Sadly you can't use this calculator for your GCSEs
But fortunately, you can use this calculator in your A Level. So perhaps consider doing A Level mathematics?
