      since he moved from msia to SG and played in our secondary school divisions, he has always been like this. at least i can appreciate him always being authentic to himself and not pretending to be someone else 🤣.
      but i agree, having over confidence can be a slippery slope. nonetheless, congrats on his first gold medal and we wish him further success. onwards!

    arrogance might be a good thing as it indicates the hunger and drive in him, something our singapore MS number 1 sorely lacks. While his lack of decorum might be slightly concerning, i much rather this than a lack of drive and hunger

      @@nev4044 eh not necessarily. It can help boost a person's confidence and make them less fearful of their opponent, which are key to win. Which is why lots of champions have this attitude. Besides, arrogance can add entertainment value to a sport.
      So I think some arrogance is healthy for the player and the sport.

    Why are yall saying he's arrogant? If it's because he threw a racquet, i don't think that is a good evidence. It could also mean he's just over relieved as he has finally won after losing all previous finals. He could've easily lost this one too.

      He has shown arrogance before this tournament, for example during his match against Cheam June Wei in the Syed Modi International last year, Cheam didnt even provoke him in any way but he stared Cheam down like at least 4 or 5 times for no reason at all when he scored a point
