The huge mistake I find here in the beginning of the video is comparing the Native American Indians and the Saracens as being equal victims. The Pope and most of Europe were frightened by the Saracens, the Saracens controlled the Mediterranean and blocked commerce to the East. The huge mistake I find here in the beginning of the video is comparing the Native American Indians and the Saracens as being equal victims. The Pope and most of Europe were frightened by the Saracens, the Saracens controlled the Mediterranean and blocked commerce to the East. That's why Columbus was trying to find new routes to India and the East. The Saracens controlled Most of Spain, Italy and most of the countries around the Middle East, they had an army to be reckon with. The Pope at that time wanted to drive the Saracens back south.
