I'm Native American and I'm not Christian anymore. I always felt uncomfortable with discussing faith. Because I felt like my ancestors are rolling in their graves due to our religious preference of a White People's religion. When they literally killed in the name of God and indocumented to say their traditional teachings are wrong and satanic. Where was God when my ancestors were being walked to their deaths in the Long Walk of the Navajo ? Nowhere to be found.

The sad truth is white Europeans did use the name of Jesus in vain by doing the awful things they did "in the name of Jesus". Those are what the Bible calls hypocrites. We have to ignore who they proclaimed and go back to the start. We recognize that there is a God and we were created by Him. He sent His son Jesus (who was not even a white man) to reveal Himself to us. There is only one God who came down to earth to reveal Himself and who is still alive today. That is the Jesus I follow. The Jesus of the Bible. When you read Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John you see who Jesus is and you know His character. We were commanded to be imitators of Him. When you see people who say they are "christians" but do not imitate Him then you know where they stand. Actions speak louder than words. They are not true followers of Jesus Christ. They were imposters. But they do not discount the fact that Jesus is the son of God. The colonizers took a good thing and perverted it to benefit them. They answer to God for their actions and God is a righteous judge like the Bible says.

THANK YOU VERY MUCH, Mr. Charles! For sharing with an educated mind, and with great wisdom what I've believed in my entire life. You have given me hope where others thought i was ignorant, when i tried to shared the exact same idea to other. Others such as whites and even Hispanic Christians inherited their beautiful Indigenous appearance, would mock and get aggressive towards me by up holding the idea the God given right to conquer, the very people that he put there in the first place. How can they value the Ten Commandments, but violate three of them; lie, steal, and murder, all in the name of a loving God. I've prayed that the Creator would one day return these land back to the First Nations of the Americas, and rid the land of this colonial disease. I try me best to support and respect all the people of the land. The best way is to honor my grandmother's ancestors - DᏂᏴᏫᏯ or DᏂᏣᎳᎩ of North Carolina, bylearning the culture, history and current events while studying the language with the goal to master and have my first thoughts in. @@davids9422 I'm assuming there is a typo here? Mark Charles is not an overt racist. The word racist isn't a great word for expressing what what Mark is doing. Mark often says "we need to decenter the white male." That isn't racist because he is referring to our system of law and culture which, in fact, does center the white prosperous male. Mark also uses the phrase "white land-owning male", which is a obstacle to some modern day white-landowning males who can't see themselves past that identity. Perhaps they are offended to hear that from someone who does not look white. Perhaps they would like to retain that privilege and keep BIPOC marginalized or away from the center of power in the US. Or perhaps there is a fear that if we decenters white prosperous males, others will push the white prosperous males out of their privileged powerful positions. Perhaps white males worry that they will be oppressed or just lose out because others benefit. What do you think?
I have personally heard Mark say, more than once, that the intent of his vision is NOT to oppress anyone.
Thank you for your response. I do not know your particular reason for thinking he is overtly racist. The above reasons are just what I've encountered.

@@davids9422 Thank you for responding. It is great when people differentiate opinions and facts to facilitate communication. A simple statement, "I don't support overt racist" is a fact. Claiming something, and in specific, Mark's and my comments, to be "racist in the extreme" is an opinion. If you elaborate on why you have this opinion, it may hold more weight with me. But as it is so far, you haven't explained why you think they are racist. Racism is manifest in different ways and I don't view any of his comments racist, but I went into a lengthy explanation of how I heard people seem to be antagonized when he speaks about "white land-owning men". That is the closest to racism his comments get, yet that everything he says about "white land-owning men" is not directed to a path of oppression which is the basis of discrimination. You do not elaborate. When a person claims racism, it is usually pejorative and requires Explanation for any kind of communication conciliation. I tried. I am assuming you don't want to.

A great book that helps to reveal the Truth about the relationships between the indigenous peoples of North America & the colonists is "Founding Myths" by Ray Raphael. He does an amazing job explaining what REALLY occurred before, during & after the US Revolutionary War & how it affected the Native American tribes. He makes a point of talking about the US Continental Congress authorising Gen. John Sullivan to conduct a "scorched-earth campaign" against the pro-British Iroquois in July 1779. Gen. Sullivan & his 4500 soldiers totally wiped out 40 Iroquois villages - men, women, children, corn fields, vegetable gardens, fruit trees, EVERYTHING was destroyed. The Carolina army did the same with 8000 soldiers, to the Cherokee Nation. Horrific!

I very much appreciate Mr. Charles's perspectives but I must correct him on one important detail. He characterizes the Citizens United case as having initiated the notion that, as he puts it, "corporations now have the same rights to political free speech as individuals." The personhood of corporations in matters of adjudication is a long-standing doctrine. It was not invented by the 2010 Court.
In Grosjean v. American Press Co., Inc., 297 U.S. 233 (1936), the Court writes: "A corporation is a "person" within the meaning of the due process and equal protection clauses of the Fourteenth Amendment" P. 297 U. S. 244. In Citizens United this same definition also applies to labor unions.
Like many others I am very much alarmed by the presence and influence of money in government. I believe it has rendered virtually meaningless our democratic processes as faithful conduits of the public will, and as instruments for the public good. But badly aimed finger pointing and hyperbole are not the answer. There are other, more powerful, arguments.

*Matthew Haverkamp this is simply about 'right and wrong' here, that even babies understand when growing up?
The facts of this whole (continued) situation is that man invented these decrees (DOD's)... Not their God? If their God did create them, well then prove it? Let's see, feel and breathe this magic? These statements wiped-out millions of peaceful, beautiful human-beings that were created in (supposedly) their belief's Gods very own image? Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not kill? A bit contradictory of its own teachings?
I dare you or Ben Shapiro walk into any gathering (Schools/Uni/Workplaces/Courts etc) today and state: 'Anybody here, who isn't a Christian is a lesser person than those who are and we now claim what we wish from them?' ----> Let's see how far you get?
I believe Ben Shapiro wouldn't debate for or against if he is a 'know-it-all' for the establishment, simply because if he was a man of integrity all he could possibly do is only make assumptions for a justified outcome, and 'hear-say' still cannot justify murder? Meaning, I don't think he would save your cause, whatever it may be...
Now, why would it be so different today for you to discriminate so blatantly? Hhmm... Or... Why was it so perfectly fine to do this for centuries, but now the rules have been changed? Simply as Laws have evolved and unfairness/inequality is bullshit, that's why?
But this is just only on the surface... What about the foundations of these Laws?
The foundation Laws that created such (above) 'privileges' for some humans to justify control over other humans, suits the systems we have in place today. And nobody wants to give up those privileges.
Nor would the foundations of 'Civilized Laws' wish to be undermined as it would be catastrophic as it would undermine every Law on the planet and create a domino effect, thus the fall of empires. I personally think it's inevitable. It will unravel itself, and it has already started.
The foundations need to be changed to bring the totality of 'humanity/beauty/love/family/equality/fairness/honesty and respect'... Not to claim and use a God, or a belief to justify control, theft or murder?
No amount of money or materialistic hoarding will save such people, they do not even know where they are taking us ALL and our future generations, even their own children whom they say they love and care for...
This isn't a debate for Original Peoples, we already have our own Dreamings, anyway how does one debate mass psychosis?

Great talk. No conclusions. Why were their different tribes in American before 1492? What happen to the people before the Ancient people before the tribes? Hum. Reminds of the verses. Acts 17:26 From one man he created all the nations throughout the whole earth. He decided beforehand when they should rise and fall, and he determined their boundaries. Jeremiah 17:9 "The human heart is the most deceitful of all things, and desperately wicked. Who really knows how bad it is? Romans 3:3-4 What if some did not have faith? Will their lack of faith nullify God’s faithfulness? Absolutely not! Let God be TRUE and every man a liar. As it is written: “So that You may be justified in Your words, and prevail in Your judgments.” We can not undo past sin. Only Jesus saves. But we can give present opportunities based on God. We need God hungry leaders not Power hungry leaders. 1 John 4:20 Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen. If we are looking to government to help... Well.... The federal government owns about 640 million acres of land in the United States, about 28% of the total land area of 2.27 billion acres. Without breakup a city, or reservation, or someone personal property legally obtain, we can revisit the Homesteading idea. Thus let people once again, on a equal footing with God's help, establish a home with God boundary tax free for the amount of time wronged. Agree?

G_d specifically told them in no uncertain terms that neither they nor any of their descendents all through time are to never veer to the right nor left of the Torah/Tanach. Never!!! G_d also told them in no uncertain terms that neither they nor any of their descendents all through time are to never accept anybody else's religion. Never!!!! G_d warned us about Christianity thousands of years ago. The Jews don't accept "Jesus" because G_d told them not to. G_d gave specific details to the Hebrew prophets about when the real Messiach comes . No one especially "Jesus" has fulfilled any of them.

Danielle Salas - To top that off, what a lot of people do not know is that Benjamin Franklin got the 'idea' for the U.S. Constitution from the speech Onondaga leader Canassatego gave in 1744 to the colonies, to unite like the Five Nations (now Six Nations) had done. Franklin used the Iroquois Confederacy model to create his "Plan of Union" at the Albany Congress in 1754.
Canassatego used the metaphor "Many arrows cannot be broken as easily as one" which inspired the bundle of 13 arrows held by an eagle in the Great Seal of the United States. To this day, the Iroquois Confederacy still lives under its own constitution & democracy. The USA would not have its constitution & democratic ideals if not for the Iroquois Confederacy. The USA should be grateful & not treat the indigenous people like subhumans.
