I would advise you to never think of microstock as something you could do full time. There is so much outside of our control such as rising competition and agencies deciding to lower our commissions to improve their own bottom line. But if you have an extra hour or two a day and want to practice your skills, it could be a good exercise for you. Not only for your artistic skills, but to learn marketing as well -- determining what a customer's needs are and trying to meet them in ways that are unique. Building that marketing mindset should help you in whatever you decide to do in life. Best of luck!

How much can a person who has just started uploading 200 photos earn per month?
Hi and thanks for the question. It all depends on how in-demand your content is. If there's no demand you will make $0, and if there's high demand you could earn hundreds of dollars. (I almost wrote thousands but even extremely high demand content sometimes has a hard time breaking through the immense competition these days.) I have about 22,000 images online and I averaged between 5 to 8 thousand a month this year (that's Adobe plus all the other agencies). Best of luck to you!

Would you recommend I use my "Fine Art" collection to stock? I'm unsure and honestly scared it would just devalue the fine art shots I got from any fine art sales from any buyer if its plastered all over.
Hi, thanks for the question. This is a tough one. I think it would depend on the amount of existing revenue you're risking. Ultimately, I think the customers for fine art are totally different than the customers for stock. There's certainly a chance that potential fine art customers may notice they can get the same image for $1 on a stock site and get it there instead. But if that's the case, it must mean you're getting significant visibility on the stock sites and the amount you're earning from stock customers might eclipse the fine art revenue. Without knowing the numbers, I couldn't give a more definitive answer. I hope this helps! Best of luck to you!
Hello brother, I have about 1,300 images in my portfolio on the Adobe Stock website. I started on this site a month ago, but with all of these images I only got five downloads. Should I continue on this site because I spend a lot of time and I don’t see any benefit from it yet? .
I’m curious if you’re creating a lot of these in AI or canva. Example. The check or the time clock. They look like animation
The sales I get each month are based on 16 years of output so the vast majority are not ai. I don't submit anything created in canva. I do have a portfolio of pngs at canva though. Most my sales overall are illustrations and animations created in rendering sorftware. AI images are a very small percentage of my portfolio.

Hi. Thank you for watching. Abstract backgrounds are tough because there is so much competition. You should focus on specific topics that people search. For example, diversity. Could you create a pattern background of people with different skin colors? Then your background is very specific to a high selling topic and should see more downloads. Best of luck!

You can do photography, vector or 3d illustration, video footage or generative ai. Have you tried any of these?
I used generative AI but it didn't work.

Hi, I have a question. I recently moved to Canada and would like to know if I need to report my photo stock income somewhere? How? Next year in the tax return? how to specify it?
Hello, I would never pretend to be a tax expert, especially one in Canada (I live in the US). I know in the US, I must report my microstock earnings as taxable income. The first year I reported, I had to pay a sizable amount on my tax return I filed in April, and then I had to pay estimated taxes on earnings every quarter after that (due April 15, June 15, Sept 15, and Jan 15 -- or the Monday after the 15th if it falls on a weekend). It's calculated on how much you had to pay the prior year in taxes, so if you know your earnings will grow significantly, you should increase your estimated tax payments accordingly. Not sure if Canada has this type of system or not, so my best advice would be to seek the advice of a good accountant to be safe. Best of luck!

Yes, volume. They have too many to review, and it seems they require more attention than the typical image. We have all seen examples of too many fingers, brand logos sneaking into the background, and established artists' styles being copied either intentionally or not (and sometimes specified in the keywords or title which is a big no no). It sounds like a nightmare that will get worse before it gets better.

Scenery photos are typically not big sellers on the stock websites, because there is a high volume of them and lower demand than other hot business-related topics. However, there can be exceptions, especially if the photos are from an area of the world where there hasn't been much photography, and if it is an up-and-coming destination for travel. Hi, I use a range of methods to create my images. I think the isolated brain and ear you saw in the video were from other contributors -- I was displaying pages from Adobe's general search results. For my images I use a combination of photos I have taken, 3d renderings, and Photoshop work. Best of luck!

Hi. The bonus we received on Sept 13 was the Firefly AI training bonus. My understanding is that the Free Collection payouts may come on or around Sept 23.
My adobe stock can’t approved any type of pictures or vectors…It claimed me that my pictures are too of 4 megapixel…What I do..???
Your pictures are too small in terms of megapixels? Are you using generative AI? You must upscale them using a tool like Gigapixel by Topaz Labs or one of many other free upscalers available free on the Internet.

It depends on how much you can create and upload in hugh commercial value niches. It is harder to start today than it was when I started (about 100x more competiton) but with time I do thin its possible to build a money making portfolio of vectors or other file types. Best of luck!

Hi, thanks for watching and for the comment. I understand it can be frustrating to wait for Adobe to review your account and your work. When Adobe began allowing AI, this opened the floodgates and all its normal processes were impacted. As for the upload limits, those are based by contributor and I don't know if and when Adobe will adjust your upload limit. I hear the limits are more strictly imposed when the review queues are very long. Hoping for it to improve for you soon. Best of luck!

Hi. I upload between two and four images and two and four videos a day. Some of my UA-cam videos describe the topics that I have found to be high commercial value, and much of my course focuses on how I research those topics. It really is all about finding the topics that customers want, creating unique content on those topics, and making it easy for customers to find your images and videos. I hope this helps!

Hi. I have gone through steps in some of my other videos on UA-cam, as well as in my course I offer. Some of the key steps include: doing searches on Adobe and sorting by downloads, watching your own download activity and tracking what sells and what doesn't, watching the list of artist spotlights in the Insights section on Adobe, and checking the sections on each agency in which they tell you what they need -- what is selling or they expect to sell well and what they don't have enough of. Can I sell the photo by using AI generative?
It MAY be OK, assuming a few things... This is what Adobe says: Firefly-generated assets from the commercially released version can be submitted to Adobe Stock as long as they meet our generative AI submission guidelines and don’t contain a watermark.
In general, outputs from generative AI features may be used commercially. However, if Adobe designates in the product or elsewhere that a beta version of a generative AI feature cannot be used commercially, then the generated outputs from that beta feature are for personal use only and cannot be used commercially.

How many assest do you have in your portfolio?

My aim for 15 years has been to upload 2 to 6 assets a day (a mix of images and video) and maintaining this pace I've reached about 26,000 assets at the agencies where I regularly upload. I've found that having the discipline to create daily output has been one of the key factors of success. Best of luck with your microstock journey!

How to find the theme?
Hi, there are a number of ways I find and test themes to see if they are in demand with customers. I do searches at Adobe and filter results by most downloaded, I stay updated on new trends and technologies by reading online sources, and I carefully track my data to see what is performing the best and then gradually expand on those topics to find subtopics that also perform well. Hi, I earn around $2,000 per month at Adobe Stock, and around $5,000 overall at all the agencies. I was earning more than $10,000 per month, until Storyblocks changed how its commission structure worked and I'm making WAY less there now. Very frustrating.
