Good times! My trans am factory control arm bushings were mushroomed so I had to cut them. On my Formula I used all the Afco low friction ones with Delrin greasable Bushings and ball joints
I'm really pleased with these poly units. Doesn't try to shake my fillings out, but the car is way more planted and smooth. Anyone could do this rebuild for a few hundred bucks and basically have it all brand new. The cheap control arms I found are like $900 after tax, I think the bushings and ball joints I used cost a shade over $120 total.
Mad Scientist Garage ya, I looked at a bunch of control arms, and they were mostly junk and didn’t offer any better performance than what I had, then when you need new parts for them the company is closed or changed products so you’re screwed into buying all new control arms again
Thanks! Sure hope you'll stick around and share with some friends, I've got some good stuff cooking again and a few piles of junk about to hit the streets again.
Hard to say- the springs were so clapped out before it was worlds of difference in response. The car goes wherever I point the wheels now without marshmallowing like it did.
3 pound sledge not do it for ya? Haha. It's about finesse on this one. I've bent enough stuff to know what to really beat on. Arms went together buttery smooth!
@@MadScientistGarage Nah you have to Have a hammer that makes you feel like you're getting an arm workout. And yes I believe that gentle finesse is needed in some applications.

Cool! Gotta do the same on mine. How much did the added camber help the handling.

Looks like you needed to update to a BFH for this job

@@ACCGarage back before I did anything on UA-cam I used the 8 pound monster to get rotors off my brother's Mustang. It worked!
Good video but the back ground music was unnecessary and extremely annoying…
