- Today, I'm going over my Top 5 (6, really) Favorite 1911s that I personally own! I hope you enjoy the video! I have standalone videos out on the Nighthawk/Colt, the Classic Government, and Hack's Novak at the time of this recording!
Classic Government:
• Limited Edition Alchem...
Hack's Novak:
• Ken Hackathorn's Perso...
Nighthawk/Colt:
• Nighthawk Customized C...
Man, each of them all have a different vibe, that’s the problem with 1911’s, once you get one, you want more! Lol
FACTS!
It is definitely a sickness, I’ve needed several interventions lol.
@@georgebetor2943 I just can’t stop😂
dude i didnt think this would happen to me. the addiction is real
Yeah.. I have 8 now. Ranging from old series I Kimber officer, commanders, Springfields, Les Baers, and even a couple Tisas. I’m still always on the prowl for a wartime Colt, but I’m not sure that will ever happen. No harm in looking though, right? RIGHT?
My favorite 1911s are 2011s. I carried 1911s on duty for 16 years then made the swap for capacity after the fuckery in Ferguson in 14. When the chances of facing a mob increases to that extent, its time to make a change. Still love the 1911, classic two tone rocks, but use ability rail, rds compatible, etc. Is king. Evolution is a thing.
I remember watching Ken Hackathorn on VHS in the 90's. I still watch him on WC channel today. Amazing guns Eli
So happy to see guys your age be fans of 1911’s and older guns along with their history
Really, at this point I have the “tactical” guns I want. Now, it’s all about historic guns!
We all know who you work for and writes your paycheck. I appreciate your honesty and even handed approach to talking about other great guns and makers beside your employer. Keep up the great flow of information about old slab sides.
Loving the setup, and the 1911s. You’ve got me back into them, though admittedly you probably have 10x as many of them as I do
Goooooddd, this is what I like to hear!
Absolutely love your videos! Cheers bro!
Thank you!
Awesome video Eli i cant wait for my classic gov!
@@kaanyalim9086 I’m excited for you!!
Man drooling that’s all I can say I am freaking drooling , 🤤 you have some awesome guns and you’re a lucky person in my book . 👍
Very cool video. The fifth 1911 that you showed is awesome!
Yes, top five wish list next. Assuming you can near it down. Also maybe some railed guns if possible. Great video!
@@johnbuntin7188 I like the idea of a top 5 “wish list” guns. Screen recording this comment now (so I remember)!
That Classic Government looks exactly like a 1911 should. Gorgeous gun.
The heck with the guns I'd be happy with the ivory grips that was a huge score in itself !! Nice guns !!
Great video, great new setup, excellent pistols and knowledge as usual! Keep em coming!
Thank you! Looking to deep-dive on that Wilson LE Comp and the Swenson in upcoming videos.
Thank you!
I've never heard of a bobcat and I've been collecting Colts . I'm 61 I learned something new everyday...
Great new setup Duck 👍 No more basement 😎😂…. Mom! Meatloaf! 😂😂
I will miss meatloaf.
New studio/gun room looks awesome!
Thank you so much!
I think the only thing you could do better or improve upon is dropping videos daily lol. Love the channel Sir, no one blends the fun and entertaining 1911/Colt/John Moses Browning/gun content with history and information like you do. Most channels are just to silly on the comedy or to dry on the history, it's not easy but you're able to blend both seamless together
Love the set up. Where did you get the lit Colt sign at?
@@Drewallen86 it was a gift from Colt
Sacrifice for the algorithm. Love your channel
That Swenson is everything dreams are made of. ❤
Like the studio but a light on the desk would probably help. I've been working on my own 1911's and always interested in gunsmithing tips tricks or fitting of parts not sure what you can show or share on here but that would be awesome.
I’m no gunsmith, I am sorry!
@@1776_duck ha get started you’ll like it !
Salute 🫡 awesome video
There's something about two tone 1911's that just does it for me. It was good enough for the (T2) Terminator, its good enough for me.
Hmmm. All round tops, no optics. Eli, you just might be more traditional than even you’d care to let on. Keep bringin’ the good stuff, brother; your stuff is 🔥!
I feel like I’m pretty open about being traditional.🤣
What, no Rock Island??
I am not a "1911 guy". Historically I have overlooked them, called them outdated, and associated them with Fudds.
I had commented on another video of yours a while ago and I'll echo it again; Something clicked, and now all I care about is revolvers and 1911s. There is just something so fucking timeless and beautiful and absolutely patriotic about them that completely infatuates me.
I know next to nothing about 1911s, but it's cool to hear a 1911 guy talk about what makes one great.
Gonna need a breakdown on that snazzy gun leather you’ve been sporting lately!
Very cool room
Thank you!!!
Swensons...ahhhh. Do one of these for an Alchemy restomod, please. Bonus...and kinda deal breaker for me, if you can add a K-38 rear sight! I'd buy one like that. And add my Alchemy mammoth ivory grips I've been saving to it. :-)
Thanks Eli, that's a great selection you got there. I've got a video idea; Top Five most embaressing guns I've owned well God damn, how do you spell embarassing ??
Luckily, I haven’t had many embarrassing guns- and those I have had are long gone.
I'm a 24 year old that is finishing a cyber security degree but i honestly dont really enjoy it. I really enjoy the gun industry but have no clue how to get into it. Do you have any tips or info? I come from a family that half is anti gun, so I was never around guns and never got into them until I was 21 so just 3 years ago. I've crammed as much info in 3 years as i could but thats about it
Join the Army, become a small arms repair guy. Go to DS selection and the sky’s the limit .
@@bend6470 I have heard that before and I did try. I took that test and everything got placed very high said I could pick what I want chose an mos that was in the armory but when I went to MEPS I was denied because of prior surgeries and current medications unfortunately
Okay, you do NOT have to be in the military. Does it help you get a job in the gun industry? Maybe, but I know as many civilians in the industry as veterans. For **most** jobs in the military, nothing you’ll learn will help you in the business of working in the firearms industry. I have a video coming out on how I got into the industry, but my advice to you: let your passion for firearms show and do not be afraid to accept whatever job you can. I started out, right out of college, at an entry level position making LESS than I did working part time in a gun store during college.
@@1776_duck 100% you don’t have to be in the military. I’m only offering another route based on what I’ve seen a friend or two do, that’s all.
@@1776_duck okay thanks! I’m an EMT and pharmacy tech and worked police for a year before then. I’ll try applying around for entry level jobs at random gun places to see if I can get in the door anywhere. I appreciate your time!
Hey dude we used to kick it back in the day man back when you worked at academy , hope all is well dude , I recently got into long range man it’s a bunch of fun
Was he rocking the trucker hat 🧢 and porn stash back in the day?
Did he still have the trucker hat and 70s stash?
@@TheJoeComey not then no
If I have a standard 1911 and buy some Wilson Combat part would it be considered a Wilson or just a 1911 with aftermarket parts?
I sent a Colt Commander to Swenson and ut stayed for 2 1/2 years. I sold the pistol while it was still in Swenson's shop to Chappie Gennet at GENCO to help finance a Novak 1911. Love the Novak but really hate that I sold the Swenson
If you are looking down the barrel what difference does it matter what brand it is
Top 5 wishlist next
@@prairiepreparedness7370 you know what, yeah, I think I will do this.
Nice Brother 😎😎😎😎😎
Subscribed. GANGSTER in da house.
Thank you, sir!
Do you won any 38 super’s?
Nice
4:20 is what I'd choose. 🤤🤤
No clark customs?
I have a Clark Custom Meltdown- it’s awesome! Just not to the level these guns are as far as what I like.
I don’t like pistols you have to pay a drop of blood to each shot
That's why no one will remember your name.
@@1776_duck look I get the macho talk, I fight in a cage as a hobby, but a pistol that slits the web of your hand open regardless of grip technique is just a poorly built firearm. The frame was developed in 1911 when shooting technique was one handed with an extended arm. The only thing that makes 1911’s bearable is an extended beaver tail
