Nice catch! I was surprised when you landed this fish though, because in the USA a jewfish ( Goliath Grouper) is really quite large, and old. It would be quite a feat to land from a kayak!? I assume that this is a popular and good to eat food fish in Australia?
Thanks Les! Yeah jew are a very sought-after fish here. They are great to eat and pull hard on their first run. They are called different things all around Australia and the world. We get some massive Groupers here aswell but I've never heard of them being called a jewfish.. Catching big fish off of a kayak is seriously so much fun! Check out my Wahoo videos!
