Awww Dave, sorry I know you've got your reasons but i loved your basement that you built in your family home, I was completely inspired to build my own physical media library around my dining area, now all you have is a cluttered garage I'm so destroyed, didn't you start in a spare bedroom, I remember those videos they seemed depressing then you were full of beans renovating your family basement, flood proofing it, installing the lights in the rafters, now in your spare bedroom it's just like anyone else's, regards Sharrel
Okay….. 😒
Thank you @sharriwright is speaking how I'm thinking it ain't about collecting different media formats now it's about Disney world and going to different places I'll just go watch Adam the woo for that
Having a family changes everything. Focus on your own collection and enjoy his evolution if you want
At this point is it even still considered a library? It would seem you just have a movie room now.
It’s always been a room full of movies 🤷♂️
Proud of you for downsizing and freeing up the garage! The new library is way more comfy and wholesome imo. Reminds me of your Bought and Watched days. Next step, digitize everything you're going to sell so you have it forever. :p
Wow - Your library looks to be 1/2 of what it used to be in your Pennsylvania residence.
Yup. Quality over quantity.
Not the world's biggest movie collection anymore then :(
@@filmparadiset7793 It is sad.....
I agree not the biggest
Next libary update will be a hard drive and a couple sd cards, haha! /lh
No
He is on a wave ride of moving and fast change that leaves little time for good self aware choices.
Looks very small and claustrophobic in there, way too much for a small room imo. Plus you’ve blocked out a window making a perfectly good room now dark and uninhabitable. Hard to think you’d give up a great guest room with bathroom and walk in closet for that. Each to their own though.
Nope. Plenty of room. Non of my previous libraries have ever had windows. And the guest room was just collecting dust. The garage is a room we will actually use and is way more functional.
You are correct, to each is their own. Can’t imagine having to downsize my collection that drastically. Wish you lots of luck, Dave.
@@sir.reelcinemahe needs to quit collecting, get a real job. His woman must be a saint to put up with that
@@davidpreziosi14 she's taken space with billions of Minnie ears
Very small and claustrophobic indeed he needs a house just for his collection
I like this.
A collection should be made up of things that speak to you the most. Not just random stuff bought on a whim.
Well done dave🤚
When i first discovered Cinema Sickness, I was drawn in by the huge library tour. Unfortunately, it's now gotten too far away from what i enjoy. Which is, massive physical collections.....
This isn’t Cinema Sickness. I think you have the wrong channel. 🤷♂️
@@RetroRestStop You're right....😞
We may know a channel with a “massive physical collection”… 😜
You're right that was the reason I got interested in watching his 1st channel you're speaking what I'm thinking😃
@Vamprye_Media I completely feel the same, I loved Dave's basement library now it's just a spare bedroom with some shelves just like anyone else's house, so sad
This is crazy divorce and remarried and moving her house installing new library. Well looks great.
What?
Right, everything’s perfect.
@RetroRestStop Is there a chance your garage will become an extension of your library? Maybe a cool hang-out zone that also has storage and family stuff? thanks for all of your videos!
If you’re getting rid of any Muppet titles we may know someone interested …. 🤔😜
I know that’s a good feeling not to have the clutter. A very mature decision by the way which I’m sure it was difficult, but smart.
I would never get rid of any of my movies . I am going to keep all my movies until the day I die
I concur, and my family children that is want to keep them together. They will not get rid of them either. Family heirloom.
Fantastic video and move! Great ideas for those of us with bigger collections and smaller spaces...... looks really good! We are in the middle of purging our (wwayyy smaller collection of ..... stuffs!) and are always looking for new ideas to fit more in a smaller space!!!
New library looks good so far. Purging your collection probably is a good thing. I have nealy 1500 blu rays and recently purged myself, but only the ones i know wont be rewatched.
You need some Bates Motel hand towels for the bathroom!! I agree about removing the closet door. Maybe the door molding around it!
Thats awesome downsizing is a wise decision. As a big collector having a lot of stuff is exausting too
Should make the guest room a theater room and keep the garage as your library..
@@Knapp712 probably said by someone who doesn’t have a wife and kids in the same house. lol
@@MikeLightyear Just so you know before you judge people by a few words on a helpful point on his video which a movie guy like him would like.. I have a wife, 3 young kids which a set are twins, 2 big dogs, movie theater room in my basement with a bar and small arcade, and also a physical media collection about half his size with room to grow.. Anything else before you go a judge a person that you don’t know..
@@Knapp712 it was sarcasm. Relax.
@@MikeLightyear No it was stupidity judgment not sarcasm..
@@MikeLightyear Go piss off and stop wasting my time getting your little jolly’s off.. Stop trying to ruining comments by badmouthing people for your own pathetic joy..
You could look online for bookshelf doors and put one on the closet or maybe the bathroom or both to house more movies
Since your not gonna watch your movies in there.....why not go ahead and make the place where the tv is gonna go into more movie shevling?
And take the couch out and put more shelves there as well.....that way you can keep more movies.
I will be doing work in there. I still need a tv and couch. Also if im watching laserdiscs vhs or another old format it will be on that CRT.
It's liberating purging your collection, but it doesn't look like you left much room for expanding. Are you worried about running out of space again, or will you be limiting your collection to just what will fit on these shelves?
There is still plenty of room to grow
I have a small bedroom I put my collection in too, but I put an aisle in the middle with double sided shelves and it looks so good
They make a shower curtain that has a silhouette of Norman Bates that'd be great for a horror themed bathroom.
Yea. Ive seen it. But i kinda wanna keep a skull theme. 💀
All this for a woman you have made a big mistake
👆 Cellar Dweller Alert!
hes built moved around and changed the library so many times id be over making a new library too. it just becomes to much and since his life has changed majorly . he can always expand later if he wants to again.
I was a bit shocked at first but definitely warmed up to the idea as the video went on. I think it's going to be great honestly. Definitely need a Laserdisc solution for the ones you're keeping. Pam can probably open up another location with the stuff you're trading in lol. I predict about 25k in store credit lol. Looking forward to the progress videos to come.
Looking good bro! I'll be curious to see what's in this purge. McKay's is an option for you common purge titles. I purge my collection every year and get trade-in for stuff i really want.
I like it, i have an extra bedroom for my collection i did have to purge some stuff, mine is all horror but i like it, looks good can't wait for the finish product, awesome video
WOW! How much of a purge do you estimate? 50 percent of your collection? It's a tough thing to do as a collector, but VERY necessary. This is also applies to life. Too much stuff accumulated in general is definitely no good for anyone.
Have you checked your area for consignment antique/thrift stores? You have enough to just set up a big booth and have a hub for your collection that also brings income in!
Dave, I see a guy in transition the room is good but thinning out a collection you put lots of work into has to really be stressful. Go slow make the thinning process a well thoughtout process. Maybe it is time for a retail location of your own. Don't lose your total independence.
What? Im just getting rid of stuff ill never watch again. 🤷♂️
Ok, just go slow on getting rid of stuff you collected. I did that same thing when I moved and built a new house. Over the years I repurchased much of the stuff I dumped and sold off. So I guess you could buy it again.
Get rid of the doors (except for the bathroom) and put up a curtain if you want to keep those items separate. That will give you more room for shelves.
Wont the steam and moisture of the shower destroy the posters after some time?
Nobody is taking showers in here
Keep the doors and make some wooden decorations on it with some writing on it like "Dave Eisenhower's Cabinet of Curiosities perhaps in XPS Foam which is easily workable and lightweight.
Honestly its good you did this, having stuff you will never re-watch or maybe watch again in 10 years just isnt worth it mentally or space wise.
I have about 40 DVD's now but I no I will re-watch every single one of them, any films or music from now on will be listened to or bought digitally, I've got rid of/donated etc so much stuff recently, I realized I just don't need it to make my life fulfilled.
Which Atlantic shelving is that? Are they stable enough freestanding like that? I need something to house my collection too.
I forget where I saw it but there's a shower mat that's inspired by Psycho. It turns red when wet. Not sur the size of it but it might fit in your bathroom.
I recently moved and purged part of my collection. Didn't realize how many movies I had not watched or never will watch again, and those boxes got heavy so I know yours had to be crazy
#LibrarySix
For your posters in bathroom you probably know but you’re gonna wanna make they are sealed to keep moisture out.
Its not really gonna get used as a shower
I would not paint the shelves white, leave them alone, again you'll be making more work for yourself. The shelves look good as they are.
Why was it in the hot Florida garage to begin with?
The garage is air conditioned (as mentioned is previously videos)
@RetroRestStop just found the channel a week ago, so yeah, didn't know
Dude man up . Even with all the garbage in the garage, you should be able to build those shelves out in a week . Especially when you don’t have a job
I do have a job… 🤷♂️
Damn you definitely thinned out the collection haha because of you I started collecting about 3 years ago! What was the original name of the channel tho????
#LibraryNumber6 Indeed, Very Nice Library you Organized Dave 👍.
it's so tinyyy
Its perfect
Nevermind
For movies some could be placed in sleeves instead of shelf space
Someone previously commented that and he said that he was not going to do that he’ll just get rid of the ones he doesn’t want. I find that to be kind of a shame since they might be good titles for the boys to want to watch or possibly in the future grandchildren friends family it should be a place together, just because you own a movie doesn’t mean you personally have to watch it might be something that someone else might find amazing or fun. It’s the time you spend with family and friends. That’s not the movie you watch.
What will you do with your pile of movies you have not watched yet?
Watch them. 🤷♂️
I've seen the Flesh and the Fiends Peter Cushing 1959, and Frankenstein and the Monster from Hell 1974 both four times.
Dude i haven’t watched in a while, may i ask what happened? You got divorced? Moved? And documented the entire thing??
ua-cam.com/video/J3mWtCqGXzE/v-deo.htmlsi=NypvqdXayiV2U0BT
I used to watch every single day and now with all of these Disney trips and out and about it’s just not as fun as I used to enjoy in the past. He moved away to be with his new wife and her son. He also brought his ex-wife and son with him to Florida. They have a pretty good relationship. He says I say good on him if that’s the way he wants to live his life and sell his family home that has been there since he was a young child. It’s to do with it’s his life to live. We’re just here to observe. A lot of his viewers think it’s a train wreck however most of us are so intrigued to see what happens next that will stick around and watch. There’s no wreck at the end. I haven’t watched very many of his films recently, but I really enjoy his theater and movie library videos. That was the whole reason I started watching to begin with mini mini mini years ago, possibly even more than 10 you do you Dave
Wouldn’t it have been easier to paint the shelves before filling them up?
Yes. But i needed to make sure everything would fit and to get the stuff out of the garage.
You should try and find a shower curtain with the Psycho shadow on it. That would be awesome!
I would keep the door
I assume you've thought about putting some of your movies in plastic sleeves, like terifold? I'm planning on doing that for some of the titles I'll watch less often.
Nahhhh. Anything im not keeping i don’t need.
Absolutely fantastic idea for small spaces and large collections. That is exactly what I did and I have been able to triple the size of my collection in the same amount of space. I never know what I will or will not watch in the future. From time to time I go to a different mood like horror or westerns things. They never thought I would like and give a chance And then I also have a very large family that likes to come over and just browse and they will pull something off the shelf. I’ve never seen before and they enjoy it and that’s what it’s really about for me personally is about my family and spending time with them whether or not I personally like a movie or not is irrelevant. It’s having a good time with Friends and family in my theater watching something that they enjoy.
Which Disney Treasures sets are you missing? If any.
So that is also the reason you are buying those multiple movies boxsets again?
Yup
Wow! That's Awesome! #librarynumber6
#Library6 I saw your Walt Disney Treasures in your garage. I sure do hope that you’re going to be keeping all of them. I’m sure you are, they’re easily the best things anyone could ever own, IMO!
Watch the very end of the video. 😉 👍
@@RetroRestStop I didn’t notice them in your new library location the first time, thanks for letting me know!
Ugh. Library six? I think I would have just purged the entire thing before moving a collection that size more then once lol
Im moving it 3 feet. 🤷♂️
@@RetroRestStop You said it already taken you two weeks though. I’m not saying anything is wrong with it. Just I would personally take it as a sign that I should join the streaming world rather then go through that hassle. I only had like 500 DVDs when I moved and I got rid of a bunch before hand personally.
I’m obviously not as passionate about it as you though. Glad you have something that brings you so much joy.
I don't know if he mentioned it, but are you gonna soundproof the room so it's not too loud for everybody else in the house.
No. I won’t really be watching movies in there very often. I’ll watch them in the living room or bedroom with dani
Same with me my music room is not soundproofed hasn't been a problem yet.
I'm surprised, but I understand. When I was younger, I definitely bought lots of things not worrying about space, etc. I've stopped a lot of my impulse buying to things I actually want, which are just movies. I'll get a collectible every now and then, but it's gotta be something I want and can display.
#libraryno6 congrats Dave you're like me in the fact when something u know isn't done yet just gonna drive you nuts. We've all been there as collectors eventually you run into the space problem no matter what you collect. Take your time culling ive been there several times too. Don't get rid of stuff you will regret later I'm sure you know that. Hopefully u will have plenty of room for new finds too :)
I think things like CDs and collectable items could go in the garage and separate them from the actual movies. Perhaps TV shows could be separated too from movies, thats what I do. Which would make room for more movies in the actual collection room
DAVE the new library looks amazing less is more. Are you doing mood lighting in you library?
Yes. Will the puck lights. And I have a nice lamp in might put on a side table.
@@RetroRestStop looking forward to seeing that would you consider lava lamps
wow .... definitely take the door off.
#LibraryNumber6
Wow. Very impressive with what you've done with the Library. And your reasoning for doing this, and for purging again for a 3rd time makes a lot of sense, and is very understandable. And the fact that Dani was fully on board with you doing this is definitely a plus. Plus, let’s face it, it probably is just safer to have the library in a spare bedroom, as opposed to out in the garage, even if your plan originally was to have the garage "Weather Proofed". All in all, very impressed with what you've done with the library, and it definitely sounds like it'll be way less of a headache. Keep up the awesome work Dave!

#Library6 Scaling down the library is a great idea! It's amazing how much you have done in such a short time. The update was worth the wait.
Happy Dave. Different priorities. The Best of the Best only. Live long and prosper..... #librarynumber6 #purge2024
Glad to see Gilmore Girls made the cut.
Best drama tv show ever made (full house is the best comedy)
I noticed that too, great show!
@@RetroRestStopAgree 100 percent
Library is looking great so far Dave, for the pac man cabinet why not build a cabinet where you can store other things under it?#LIBRARYNUMBERSIX
Yea. I was thinking that. Perhaps something for the few laserdisc i wanna keep.
@@RetroRestStop that sounds like a great idea. If you have CED's too that would work too.

no planning headache Dave

Awesome set up
If you can manage it better, then so be it. However, if youre selling off that many titles. Do something like... Using that money to build a complete criterion collection. People love boutique physical media videos, and it would be something different. Whatever you do, if you can live with it better, thats all that matters.
About time you downsized you went overboard buying too many movies
Woah that looks amazing Dave!! I think I might purge my collection too. All my hallmarks are staying, just not too sure about the lame horrors I’ve seen hahah!
This is an amazing idea. I like how compact, yet full it looks! Amazing work! I like the idea of the horror themed bathroom too lmao
I hope you get paid for the movies you're gonna give to Videogame Movie Drome
Good plan to downsize, that's my next step too. A difficult one but a necessity. Not only is space an issue but understand in my old age that besides the fact that being covetous and idolatrous isn't accepted by God and is sinful its also just silly and immature and not attractive for an old man to be so obsessed with pieces of plastic and paper. Good on you, I'm not looking forward to it either but it must be done. Also, careful with the posters in the bathroom if they're originals. Even in frames sometimes they'll warp a little.
Will u be selling yr Warner archive collection if yes where
Yes. Some. On my Mercari store.
Can you show your spice girls collection
When i get it all set up I will 👍
i'd love watching you shower
