Greetings Mdeni, thank you for the conversation. I often hear PK's speaking about their experiences, challenges etc growing up in the church, but I'm yet to hear the conversation on the privileges, access to opportunities, network and status which they were exposed to that did work for them too. As believers or nje humans, let's learn to have a wholistic recollection of our journey. On other matter, this platform is important and the conversations we needed, let's keep pushing
I think we as Africans have always known who we are and what we have. It's just the world finally in some shape or form, allowing their oppressive hand to get off us so we can do what have always done
We do need to also note that just because you are trained as a musician, and you using your gift in the church, shouldn't automatically result to you needing to be paid for it, unless that's the original conversation or a conversation that you then have. It's okay to be a full time professional musician and not be in the worship team. The same is also true, you can be a full time professional musician serving in the church, but you are part of the team and not see it as employment. We need to teach what does it mean to be part of the family and what is expected from the different members of the family
This is so powerful
