It's not variable speed, which was also evident in this video. I purchased an AC Motor Speed Controller on Amazon, to regulate the speed of the tiller. I plugged it into the outlet then the extension cable to the tiller. I adjusted the speed I wanted for the application before tilling. Worked great.
Bought one of these years ago on Amazon was $80 but I had a $40 gift so it only cost me $40. I love it great machine. Only thing I don’t like really is switch doesn’t have a speed control. It is tuffer machine than one would think. Use it in my compost pile. Very happy.
I borrowed the model below this and it was excellent at top cleaning my beds. Only problem I have a lot of rocks & roots too and I doesn’t come apart. It’s stationary so it’s time consuming to get the rocks & roots out.
Growing up I had a grumpy old man as a neighbor. I swear he was 70 years old the day he moved in and when I moved away 25 years later. Anyhow, he was as dumb as he was stupid, and would do stupid things like planting young maple trees a foot from his house.

I have the 10amp tiller, it fears nothing.if you could add more weight above the blades it would be easier to handle, 🤓
Is the 13.5 amp earth wise a stronger tiller?
on sale at rural king for 99 dollars.
Why did you like the 8ampwhy did you prefer the 8amp over the 13
