It would be good at spotting things in the night sky, amplifying the smallest amount of light but you may find the 720p sensor limits the amount of detail you get.
I was going to ask the same question as I bought my pro 8 months ago and now I'm thinking I wasted $1150 on the pro when I could get 2 sports. The vids seem to prove it.
I love doing comparison videos but you have to be a bit inventive with mounting different units together so they record the same shot! And I'd certainly recommend KF concept.
Why does the sport look better than the pro? Much more detail than on the sport. Could have bought 2.5 sports for what i paid on the explorer kit. I wouldnt make these comparisons. It prolly pisses off the owners of the pro having such a limited advantage on the base version. For the sport its highly impressive software for the price point. For the pro you are left with a bitter taste in your mouth and feel a bit deceived and ripped off. Ive always thought the website photos of the capabilties were extremely altered and this footage proves it so. Impressive technology for the 500 price range. Above that is nothing short of a let down. With a future firmware update we could be blown away with the features, but as of now, we have a camera with a shotty mobile application at best, with extremely limited AR capabilities which nobody has any idea how to use or set up. No instructions online nor in any tutorial video from sionyx or anyone who uses/owns the device. Almost feels scammy. Like what we were promised and what we recieved were two different things. The part that is hard to accept is the unwillingness of the company to update fhe firmware or make any improvements in low light conditions or making AR mode easily obtainable. I have downloaded the AR app but the camera fails to connect to the hotspot you have to set up prior. It feels like we pledged or sent in a donational pledge to a possible ground breaking future company which ended failing, ultimately going under.
Where to start! Let me reassure you the Pro is an excellent piece of kit - it's well built, reliable and really simple to use. It does have a better sensor than the Sport and the differences in detail in low and very low light conditions are noticeable, especially when looking through them (which is more noticeable compared to the video outputs). I've not had any problems connecting any Aurora's to my phone, so much so that I didn't think it needed a video. But that said - I'll take a look into this and see what I can do for the future. I appreciate this might not be your bag but here's something I recently filmed with an Aurora Pro. ua-cam.com/video/ZmgVkBrQorc/v-deo.htmlsi=7wALvh7fV5-8rtpa (No IR, cloud cover and ambient light only from a large built up area probably about 10km away) I hope that helps.
Excellent comparison of the sensor on the base Aurora and the Pro. Thank you.
You're welcome
A starry night comparison would be useful.
Would you say the sionyx sport would be good for watching the night sky? we do sky watching for ufo etc

Can you tell a difference in the 2 sionyx?
No difference

Is Sionyx only in 720p?
That's correct.
Hi Whats the music

Our videographer mixed 2 tracks:
There's Life Out There - Cooper Cannell
The New Order - Aaron Kenny
Thank u
Do you happen to know what firmware you had running on the Sport?
I'm afraid not, we use our samples for videos so they are updated all the time.
@@thomasjacksltd So would you say that it is highly probable that both cameras had the latest firmware available at the time?
KF concept tripod looks great!!!hahahha, i have one too!!!
