too bad that era sold better than what you are on about. Most Wanted 2005 alone sold 16 million copies while Nfs3 sold 1.7 million. most wanted sold more than the entire classic NFS series combined.
Personally I loved both. Hot Pursuit was an incredible arcade racer, but Most Wanted and all that were incredible games for exploration, street racing, car customisation, game progression etc. There is room for both.

Yeah, 1998 teenage kid here, we were blown away by NFS3 as it was, it was state of the art tech and it showed... reflections, Raindrops, whirling leaves.... of course this looks stunning but it was a beast back in the days... not even mentioning the artwork and the music... @@automation7295 This would fix some engine bugs from EA's engine, it allows custom tracks more comfortable, it even would allow to use VR. Maybe he should make an entire new game instead, but totally in the classic nfs era style. Because EA wont do.

Pre underground was the real golden era , showcases , supercars with 1m € of value , beautiful circuits and amazing soundtrack. In 2010 the unique NFS With classic style and my favorite NFS.
The music from that specific game has stuck with me since my childhood, I still haven't found anything else like it. It will be awesome to see how far this project goes!
Honestly... if they just updated that game to run on wide screens, high resolution, and just turned the lighting into this... it would be incredible as that game still slaps (if you can get it to run)
i wanna see nfs 4 hs get this kind of treatment...mr radical original nfs 5 works pretty much perfectly, you'll have to play a little with patches and fixes and stuff, after that runs flawlessly

Had the original in 1998, played it on a Voodoo 2 card and CRT display. Back then the graphics of NFS3 were beyond anything I've seen before. I would love to see this project turning out in a complete game.

Porsche Unleashed was way different than the other ones, but i agree. If they unified the physics, tracks and cars of all of the first four games then i would be really happy.

Amazing! I was raised playing games like this! I'm fact, my entry on need for speed was the nfs2se. I remember how cool it was racing the Ford gt90, mclaren f1, Ferrari f50 and other cars on the same track! Thanks for bringing back good memories! Love your work!
While the novelty of a big city hyped people with the tuner era, what was lost was the personality of each map, that IMHO were as much as one of the "characters" in the game, much like the cars. Each map with a distinctive look, feel and atmosphere to the point where you knew them like the back of your hand as mastering them like the cars was part of the gameplay and each felt different from the other. I miss those touches.

Thank you for restoring one of my favorite PC games of my childhood. I remember the days of playing Hot Pursuit on my Dad's PC with the Logitech Wingman Precision Gamepad. My favorite Tracks were Atlantic and Hometown. Hope you will succeed on your Journey
I love NFS III ! Still play it today using modern patch by Veg (Evgeny). I hope you'll consider open sourcing this project. This has inspired me to dive into development with Unreal Engine in hopes of contributing pull request to port this fan remake for android.
Perfect way to inject some life back into these classic games! Keeping that original retro aesthetic by design, but making it look modern with that lighting etc. Perfection
I've been playing NFS III HP since I was 8 yrs old in 2003 , I have played both the PS1 and PC versions extensively and still fire up the PC version every two months or so .IMO this is how a remaster should be done . You have not messed with the models or the textures but simply made everything look smoother and overhauled the lighting and made everything modernish and I don't think you messed with the original physics system as well because the cars do spin in the air like that when you crash into walls at certain angles and speed like in 1:29. Hometown and Atlantica both look amazing. . Good on you and this really made my day as I know that there are many people out there who love this game .

DUDE. If one (mighty) developer like yourself were given the fiscal resources from EA to do a steam / PS4 / PS5 port for this game, you could seriously sell the crap out of this! You've just proven that their overhead would be so low since you can do all this amazing work as an individual.. imagine that scaled with EA's budget! On top of the outstanding camerawork and lighting you have done thus far, imagine a few new voiceovers for the cops, enhanced car and environment models (Could literally borrow a lot of them from NFS HP 2010) and perhaps revive the online servers, it'd be amazing! If you do finish this and put it on sale, I'll be sure to buy it! Thank you for the trip down memory lane :)

The Nostalgia hits me so hard with this game lol NFS3 hot pursuit is what got me started in the NFS franchise and i did not care for the undergrounds lol i miss the pre underground nfs games so much they were amazing 😭 NFS3,High Stakes, Porsche Unleashed, and both ps2 version and Microsoft version of NFS Hot Pursuit 2 that was my fav nfs game of all time played the hell out of both versions lol

The Nostalgia hits me so hard with this game lol NFS3 hot pursuit is what got me started in the NFS franchise and i did not care for the undergrounds lol i miss the pre underground nfs games so much they were amazing 😭 NFS3,High Stakes, Porsche Unleashed, and both ps2 version and Microsoft version of NFS Hot Pursuit 2 that was my fav nfs game of all time played the hell out of both versions lol

The best NFS game and the best track, atlantica. This series is dead but this brings back memories.
The section around 40-50 seconds in, driving towards the sunset reminds me a lot of the game Motorhead, it came out around the same time as NFS3.

Wow! I really played the original game A LOT (more so on PC than on the PS1 though but I have both) and it was great. Seeing it now in UE5 is pretty awesome!
I hope you can release this someday. Favorite NFS from my childhood. Gameplay-wise it still holds up well.
