Its mainly because nearly every rapper outside of liverpool all try and copy the successful cockney rap artists. Liverpool definitely doesnt. We have are own style and flow and use of lyrics. Its mad as a city are artists are not getting the respect and airplay that they deserve. A bit of scouse history for you Americans and even some of the young ones from UK. Liverpool as a city has always looked across the Irish Sea and the Atlantic to USA and ireland. We never really relate to the rest of UK and do things very differently. Like are music, are clothes, are language with slang. Anyway if you asked most scousers if they would leave the UK if possible and more than half would say yes. We hate UK culture. Right due to are uniqueness and rebel city attitude and are historical deprivation, crime and drug culture which we spread out to other UK towns and cities, we are looked down upon and sometimes face stereotypical negative judgemental remarks and prejudice due to coming from this different city. No other city faces this like liverpool does. It can even affect are job and career options as sometimes due to were we live we will get rejected for jobs. It is not as bad now as it was in the 80s, 90,s and 2000,s but we still do face stereotypical negatives. One last thing which is quite funny as well is that outsiders give us verbal abuse and prejudices and look down at us but nearly all the time you will find that whatever clothing we are wearing gets copied about a year later, are language and slang also eventually gets copied and it seems a lot of these outsiders deep down are a bit jealous of are cockines and unique culture and tend to end up copying are cities unusual styles. Sorry for the essay but hope it sheds some understanding of are boss city.
