- Something unique here on the channel, where I may be producing more military-related content. Here, we're at Columbus Air Force Base in Columbus, MS, part of the AETC (Air Education Training Command), training the next generation of pilots for the U.S. Air Force.
As evening operations settle here at Columbus, T-6 sorties return from the training area and practice some touch and goes on runway 31L. Columbus AFB offers the T-38 Talon fighter/bomber training aircraft, as well as the T-1 Jayhawk for those pursuing the "heavies" route. Unfortunately, those aircraft tend to use the center and outside runways, thus, I wasn't able to capture any up close.
I wonder if they still have my old FPN-16 out in the middle of the Center runway? I got chased several times going out to perform maintenance.
I have 600,000 hours in the T-6A. I may actually be able to retire before I graduate from UPT.
68 years flying the T-6? Not sure if that’s possible.
@@DeltaAirtran I know, right? Learning to fly formation is killing me, but I appreciate the Air Force's patience. I'll be eligible for Social Security by the time I make it to an active duty squadron someplace.
The T-6 one or two..? The T-6 II is only like 25 years old.
