It would honestly really suck for those snares to want to do a corps because they are the only people that use matched
They do learn traditional outside of the ensemble. At this point after 20+ years, it's an identity thing. If Dartmouth suddenly went all traditional, it would be weird.

Dartmouth was the second ensemble to play thru Danse Macabre. The notes sounded so familiar when I remembered Surround Sound (S2) playing it back in 2009.

Match grip is better, it’s more versatile and traditional is kind of obsolete. I wish more DCI corps marched matched.
A high school snareline with matched grip usually means someone on the line had shit traditional grip and couldn't get it right so everyone must suffer. tsk tsk tsk.
IamDanielMax no, Dartmouth has been doing matched for years now, and also it’s generally up to the staff so if they want to have the students play matched grip, don’t blame it on the kids.
Nah Dartmouth has been using match since 98. At this point it's part of their identity. It's been working out so far. They placed in top 3 every year every up until 2013. Came back and dominated in 2014. Silver in 2015 and in 2018. Relatively speaking 2013, 2016, 2017, 2019 weren't their best years. But they still managed to never miss finals for over 20 years.
The shows that come out of dartmouth get more and more disturbing as the years go by. And the more I hate seeing them play matched grip

I admit i don't like seeing matched grip either. But i love the strange mood of their show.
And yet they finish no worse than 5th in PSW, and are more often in the top 3. Oh and that's for 20 years straight now. Yeah they really care about how much you hate their matched grip, LOL.
