  • Another set of vintage carbs going through my special three part cleaning process, first the outsides are de gunged and then the contents of the float bowls/jets and all are removed, the bowls replaced to act as a swirl chamber to force out the debris that collects.
This allows the strong red hot detergent mix to gradually soften the years of built up fuel varnish and or residues.
I have found no other way as good as this system that will get rid of every trace of dirt inside the carb fuel channels etc.
Red hot water and fairly liquid is the best stuff for the job, if things cool down you simply replace with new fluid and continue.

Thanks for sharing this mate; 'tis much appreciated. You got any more details of the pump you use, such as flow rate e.t.c?

@@daviddanielstephenson2833 It's a 125 Agility City and I am going to adjust the carb needle on the carburetor to give it a bit more fuel as it would be good to have a bit more power for overtaking?
