Very informative thank you. My mechanic told me I will need to change my carb, but I think now I will order a rebuild kit from Aliexpress first and try to rebuild like you have shown. Will save so much money and pain in the ***. Thanks.
Hello, rebuild kit from Aliexpress is not good, poor quality, don't fit to the carb. You can buy original parts at a Suzuki dealer, or a good quality aftermarket kit, for example Tourmax. Have a good luck, and thank you for watching!
@@latzkoworks So this is what's wrong with my carb. After I had some seal work done in the cylinder head, suddenly the bike has weak acceleration in the low revs of first gear. Rest of the gears are fine. But I have to give it extra oomph now in first. And after riding for 10 minutes, it starts backfiring. Mechanic cleaned the carbs and checked everything, but says the carbs are shot. It's a 1997 GS500e. The thing is, the bike was working perfectly fine before he changed the cylinder head gasket. Mechanic tells me I have to change the carbs. But you've given me hope; I'll try and rebuilding it myself and see if that fixes it.
Hi i have the same engine, the carburettor fuel feed... is it both pipes? Or do you run 1 pipe into the top part of the carb? & the bottom hose is a over flow pipe? Then the little small hose think that goes onto the fuel switch?
Hello, only one fuel pipe goes to the bottom of carburetors, in the middle. From the fuel tank goes two fuel pipe to the petcock. One vacuum pipe from the carbs goes to the petcock too. Check my other GS500 video!
Hello, check my other GS500 carb video, that is your old type. Yes there should be a washer and O ring on the pilot screw, and turn out 2,5-3 turns. Thank you for watching!
Hello, 18:04 you have metal washer on a needle. I don't have one in my carb and according to diagrams there shouldn't be the metal one. Did you add it for better performance or am I missing something? Thanks for answer!
@@latzkoworks thanks for answer! I searched online for the washer on partzilla and local shops and couldn't find that washer to buy neither in diagrams. Fortunately I found the same one but not OEM. It definitely should be there then
Hello! Nice video, just one thing. According to the diagram you put one part on in the wrong order. @18:28 is that part suppose to be put on last? Looking at the diagram i looks as it should rest on the bottom of the hole .
Hello, thank you for watching and for the remark! I have checked the oem drawings and manual during the repair, GS500 is not easy but I think it was rhe right sequence.
What is the hose on the top T-fitting for? The hose didnt seem to attach to anything on the other end. My bike is missing the hose completely. Im trying to figure out where is goes and what its for. Thanks.
@latzkoworks what would be wrong if that breather was spilling fuel during running? I also found the floats wouldn't fill unless it was connected to the petcock, however mine is a 91
@latzkoworks I've disassembled the carbs fully, cleaning the carb base with a wire brush, and same for all of the needle pins, and jets, after soaking them thoroughly. referring to the service manual I found what would appear to show it leading to the last line on the petcock as a vacuum/return line, but not anywhere else. When I close off/ or leave that line unattached fuel doesn't seem to enter the float bowls. I've accidently closed that line entirely once and the carbs didn't fill at all, and even after a well clean I have yet to get that line to not leak or cause issues. Also if it doesn't connect to the petcock, at the rear most port, what does connect there?

Szia! Előre is köszönöm! 🙏
Szia, általában 2 dolog szokott lenni: 1. kevés szelephézag 2. kevés benzin alacsony gázállásnál / részterhelésen. Én ezt a két dolgot nézném meg első körben.
Szia, köszönöm, hogy megnézted! A porlasztókat vki részlegesen felújította előttem, a többi alkatrészt Suzuki kereskedésben rendeltem. Benzinálló O-gyűrűket tudsz venni csapágyboltban, de méretileg nyilván a gyári lesz a legpontosabb.
awesome video dude :D! Personally probably just leaving all connected and opening it to clean jets and try double check what I can without removing so much. But thats cause Im used to having the carb half connected😂 Will be fun to do, as I have done a few motorcycle and recently an atv. Carb kit on its way😁 Still recommend 2 turns out on pilot screw for best effect?
