I think part of was do to the fact that klaus was still in fear of himself because of mikeals abuse as well as the indirect connection between the pack that killed henrick. And learning about the relationship between klaus and the pack caused klaus shame and fear because of Hendricks death.

She was with Jackson because she was supposed to be with him until her pack was killed by Klaus. She felt that she needed to help the werewolves, and it paid off because the werewolves would always choose Hayley’s and the Mikaelsons’ sides on disputes. Elijah lost his memories, so Hayley decided to move on with another person, but she never stopped loving Elijah. Hayley and Elijah were the perfect couple, but with everything that happened to them, the timing was never right.

I know damn well that if there was a situation of sacrificing a stranger vs someone you confide in you wouldn’t hesitate with sacrificing the stranger.

It's nowhere as good. The plot is bad and everyone is so innocent. Vampires domt drink human blood, nobody kills anyone instead they have "monsters" for three seasons. I watched it for the characters not the plot
