Well Race doesn’t actually exist and the line between Nationality and Ethnicity is pretty thin. Ethnicity really is just long term nationality when you back up and think about it. And Nationality is well.. whatever nation you are apart of. Race is just bs identification by color but it doesn’t even work. It only was useful when ppl were being reduced to their color as the predominant determining factor for someone’s place in the society. It never had any scientific backing, because it was never supposed to be scientific. We really should stop using race, it’s useless and can help drive destructive social forces. Hopefully one day we’ll get past it

The “naming white people by their race of origin” actually makes sense in cases where there is a variety of white people. I’m Puertorican born and raised, but my family immigrated from Spain a few gens ago. Since there are lots (way too many) North Americans on the island, the result is that since I’m European white I have to specify (that I’m Euro-Latin) so people don’t speak to me in English or think I’m from the States. An “average” looking Puertorican doesn’t have to specify where they’re from because we’re almost all “mestizos” (which is the blend of Native Latin American & European)
I find it crazy that our society is spending so much energy on race and other woke topics while we got way bigger issues. For example you went down that rabbit hole while you could spend you time on something more productive which would benefit you way more.
Alt Right Andy...made no sense, Europe is made up of countries like....Africa is made up of countries. I love that I wasn’t the only one thinking charla is jus so wrong but talks like he thinks he’s right and never agrees that he was wrong
Charlamagne’s stupidity between 26:00 and 33:00 is dangerous
I can't believe Cha doesn't know the difference between Nationality, Race and ethnicity
He's dumb
Well Race doesn’t actually exist and the line between Nationality and Ethnicity is pretty thin. Ethnicity really is just long term nationality when you back up and think about it. And Nationality is well.. whatever nation you are apart of.
Race is just bs identification by color but it doesn’t even work. It only was useful when ppl were being reduced to their color as the predominant determining factor for someone’s place in the society. It never had any scientific backing, because it was never supposed to be scientific.
We really should stop using race, it’s useless and can help drive destructive social forces. Hopefully one day we’ll get past it
That your opinion tho
@@bilalgarcia7685 If you are referring to race not existing then no that's not an opinion, it's actually a fact.
@@doctorkhumalo7730 you're right. But just to cover all bases - the idea of race exists in the fact that we are all the human race. Nationality and Ethnicity as Race though? No. Separate things. This is biology and science. Hell, the census itself says there is no biological or scientific basis for race and it's all based on social constructs...it then uses that race data to create laws, services and rights. Which is crazy.
During the discussion about whether people of other ethnicities can be called americans, it became clear that schulz has outgrown the capacity for discussion on this podcast. Charla not even trying tobe knowledgeable about the stuff he talks about
It annoyed me that the difference between ethnicity and nationality went over Charla's head. Also he kept saying things that are facts as theories. So annoying.
Charla is an idiot can’t even synthesize information ruins the convos on the pod tbh

@@Shortballa11 why are white Americans not organized in subcategories when minorities are
Alex saying “we a little confused.” He sounded so defeated 😂😂
You might as well just say your white 😂
mestizos are European and Indigenous not African.
Alt Right Andy...made no sense, Europe is made up of countries like....Africa is made up of countries. If you are White, we can trace you back to Europe because everywhere else, White people moved to....
Puerto Ricans are 65% White and for the most part are White (German)/Italian people who mixed with Black people to create ghetto White people...

I love how the episode started with an ULT RIGHT ANDY joke 😂 but we actually ended up seeing the old toxic trait of CHARLA actively misunderstanding Hezi.
God leeeeeee that was soooo frustrating cuz I understood him the first time he explained that qualifier shit. 🤦🏽♂️🤦🏽♂️
Man people really don't realize how dumb charla actually is, like he's really not smart at all.
Charlemagne isn't any kind of special in the brains department, he's a painfully below average thinker
@Ser Jack Burgundy a Knight of the Patriarchy lol yup, he hears someone say something and runs with it for the rest of his life with reading into it. He's the definition of ignorance.
@Ty M I don't understand why he actively tries to take it to the extreme side everytime. You can clearly hear Andrew saying "yo yo yo why you making it sound crazy" in the beginning when he was trying to keep it light and "jokes".
There was an episode of House MD where Dr. House wanted to upset Gypsy parents of his patient, and he yelled “I can’t believe they gypped me” in the hall way, and they came out of the room fussing at him. So it is a real thing and I’ve been aware of it since I saw that episode in 2006 or 2007.
That being said, it’s not a big deal and ppl make mountains out of mole hills too often.
Ok so when it's Charla's shit he gets offended but when it is someone else like gypsies he's cool with it. Got it.
That’s what got me! I bet if it was a white person who said it he’d probably be more inclined to keep that same energy. I thought he was playing a character but the shit he was saying was the exact arguments some make to justify their actions by playing dumb. He wasn’t playing!!!
Andrew is not playing. He is racist and tries to hide it behind his comedy. He always comes for Black folks.
That’s what we’re always saying but we get shouted down for calling out the disrespect in what they’re saying
Yo. When Andrew get on his Diplo, the comedy is top tier man! 💀💀💀💀
It's getting to the point that Charla doesn't listen to understand, he's just responding to Andrew.
Schulz carrying the podcast cause Charla gettin worse every week. Schulz was speaking facts about labeling different groups of Americans making them outsiders. Charla is just ignorant and only listens to try and argue. He doesn’t need to keep saying “I don’t know” cause we can tell 😂
Charla was right though because all black people arent just from Africa, they were everywhere
@@subtopewpewpie which makes the African American label even more inaccurate. Why are black people labeled with the qualifier and not white people was his initial point. It’s literally a form of othering blacks while whites just get to be Americans
Schulz is spot on with the “African” American argument
He really isn't. he changed his argument right in the middle. It went from "It doesnt make sense for Black People to be called African American because we all know where black people come from" to "Minorities in america shouldnt be labeled from where there ancestors are from" Which people have been saying for YEARS.

Tbh they were both wrong

It's baffling. Especially when it's a proven scientific fact and not just a theory. Everything is not a theory

Ayo Charlemagne actually has poor social comprehension. He’s not a dummy, but it took him forever to understand what Andrew meant by America inventing “Black people.” Andrew worded it in a humorous double entendre way but Charlemagne just kept talking about the caste system from slavery. Bro…

Charlemagne's commitment to refusing to understand Schulz is so painful to listen to 😂
I think it makes more sense that the first peoples were Middle Eastern, or “Indo-European”….like Iranians…they can have light colored eyes, but their skin is darker and hair is black…the Bible says that Humanity broke off into 12 Tribes after a cataclysm to repopulate the world. Makes sense that the ones who went north got lighter and the ones who went south got darker. The ones who went East got a yellow skin tone with slanted eyes and the ones who went West got redder skin tone and wider eyes.
Fun fact: 10,000 years ago a person was born with a “birth defect”…their eyes were blue. Apparently every blue eyed person is descended from this person. Can u imagine if u were the FIRST person born with blue eyes? I wonder how they were treated-if people thought they were a freak or if people thought they were special? Well

There’s lotsa white South Africans of different heritages (my great grandad was a SCOTSMAN who moved down there for coal mining). His daughter, her son, and then me, were 3 generations of “South Africans” until I moved to the US, though we’re all still Scottish by blood. South African refers to where we grew up, how we talk, what we know (proximity and culture), and FYI Afrikaners have their own specific culture (kinda more intense compared to other white South Africans)
Own specific intense culture = deep hatred for real South Africans and perpetuation of Apartheid mentality. Do try to clean it up @Jakob whatever
@@nc9922 You’re right about a good percentage of them, especially historically. The stereotypical Afrikaner jarhead is an scary image. But there’s plenty regular folks for example who’s parents believed in crazy things, who don’t hold that contempt and thought apartheid was cruel, some (though sadly not most) even fought against it.
