It is time for us to speak the truth once and for all. Hurley is a really good album. The fetishist 90's-WeezerMania must end. (The 90s albums by Weezer were iconic and proper to a cultural movement, but not recognizing their genius after that period is simply stupid).
They released 2 altermate edits as Weezer Webisodes, Bokkus (spanish words) and Balmasmic Reduction. I'm convinced this one used to be among them on the channel but it's at least not anymore. Also, a few people are confused so just know this is the single edit. It's relatively unknown because it got zero promotion besides these videos that weren't even released AS official music videos and only got a rare promo CD release. I feel like it was tie-in with RJ Berger too? I don't remember exactly besides knowing it was Hurley era and they appeared on it. I'm not sure where this thing about the label/band not being happy with the video comes from, because that's all just speculation. Realistically, it's probably because the single (and Hurley as a whole) flopped hard and Weezer had already stopped caring.
@@unitedunitedunited_ I honestly forgot about this song and Micheal Cera's contribution. And my comment. Thank you kind sir for commenting and reminding me.
You mean the mandolin? That's only the album version. They reworked the song and made it a single so they could play it live without a mandolin, but unfortunately that eliminated the uniqueness of the track.
Well pretty much they re-recorded the song for a potential single release and they filmed the video, which at the end it was never officially released, apparently the band felt dissatisfied with the final product.
Sometimes, also they make minor changes on the mix, usually to fit for radio play. Like an alternative mix or remove explicit lyrics or reduce the time.

It does now 😝😝

Weezer’s Black Album bring you here too? :)
Me neither Jon. What the hell?!
It wasn't released at the time, as the band wasn't happy with it.
@@runnersdialzero1244 Wait, what? The band wasn't happy with the song so they decided to... release a video? Makes no sense at all.
@@juanitojaime4553 No, the band wasn't happy with this video, not the song itself.
Micheal Cera did guitar parts and back up vocals on this song.. that's wild
someone needs to isolate the vocal track, I need to hear that
That’s a rather heavy usage of the impact font
It was quite impactful
makes it memey
I never knew this existed
Same... I just found out... This is no the same version from Hurley...
It took until March 10th for Weezerpedia to update their article
Rivers: Elton John
Brian: Has a wig on
Scott: Ringo Starr with a mullet
Pat: His beautiful self
Brian isn’t wearing a wig
What the hell, the studio version doesn't have that guitar intro and solo
It's better isn't it.
My teacher showed this to me

This is 3 times better than Memories
They all look so fucking good in this video, this is peak

Wow, 23 comments on a Weezer video. I know Hurley ain’t popular but damn haha
Well this isn’t a video that Weezer uploaded some random person uploaded it people won’t see it as much
An exceptional music video.
Easily the highlight off of Hurley for me, so underrated
Cool version of this song

Hurley has one good song, and that's Unspoken

Why did they not release this officially? 😂
