No Holly for Miss Quinn A partner piece to Miss Clare remembers on Watermark. This title is another Miss Reid story. Yet the real story behind the idea is a memory by Enya of her home as a child. Here, on the plain of the winds, holly trees did not thrive. Yet, Enya found a young sapling, struggling on the hillside. It is one of those moments we all experience, when something touches our heart. She felt an affinity with this small tree, blown by the winds, struggling to get a footing. Each time she went walking she would check on the little tree. Once, a small holly tree strived, but in a storm, it was lost. Hence, the title of the book evoked this memory for Enya.
Caribbean Blue As with a lot of the songs I find that there are several threads that come together to create the lyrics. Sometimes the ideas behind them can be completely opposed to one another. This was the case with Caribbean Blue. The first thread was the idea that it is much easier to imagine a beautiful place on a rainy day than to imagine a dreary one, for it is often forgotten that one may create something good merely be thinking it so. A day-dream is as rich a gift as any. Like Afer Ventus, the wind from Africa, or Eurus, the east wind, Boreas from the north or the gentle Zephyrus, the imagination is free and can choose and create its own journey. As with all dreams we reach for the ideal, and Caribbean Blue represents such an ideal. The second thread came from my favourite Aesop fable. It tells the story of a journey that an old man made, with his young son and their donkey. Everyone they met on that journey had an opinion on how the man, his son and the donkey should travel and, no matter what they did, someone complained about it. If the man rode the donkey they were criticized, if the boy rode the donkey they were criticized, if both rode the donkey they were criticized. If neither rode the donkey - yes - you’ve guessed it - they were criticized! They could not please everyone. In fact, they could not please anyone. You have your own journey to make, so make it the best you can. Live your life and learn by your mistakes. Trust your own judgement. Find out what’s important to you. Life is short. In the end you need to find out for yourself how blue the sky is!
Angeles At times we ask for extraordinary things to happen in our lives and somehow, deep down, we believe they will. Someone, somewhere, may have the power to help us - a Guardian angel perhaps, or a spiritual minder, a protector from life’s darker moments. Such a belief can be a comfort in life, an easy relationship with a world beyond our own. A gentle hand on your shoulder to guide you through, though not away from, the harder times.
Hi Enya, I don't know are you actually typing the comments, that would be so cool. I love this note because my mother died when I was 15 in 2015. She is my guardian angel. She's always guiding me event through tough times. You're music has helped me to heal though. I can relate to a lot of your music. I want to say thanks for this music that heals people.
Years ago i had a rough time in my life and decided to end it all. While awaiting for the chosen method to finally kick in i was listening to Enya and Loreena Mckennit. I was so surreally calm and happy, i realized that i didnt wanted to die, i wanted to live in peace and serenity and to not feel pain anymore. I was able to call for help and save myself. Still healing and doing lots of inner work. Thank you Enya for giving us this music. Maybe without its beauty that made me come back from the irreversible, i wouldnt be here.
Evacuee I remember her face. She told of how she had been an evacuee during the Second World War. As she told her story she began to cry like the little girl she had been half a century before. The pain of her separation from her parents registered with immediacy on her face. As a child she could not understand why she had to leave them, and the effect of this stayed with her. The only hope she had as a child was a promise that they would all be together again. It is a great sadness that even today in this world of ours, on our tiny planet, children still endure that same separation.
Shepard Moons proved Enya wasn't just some one-time serendipity. She had staying power and endless originality. Caribbean Blue was the first song I ever heard that I thought of as a "sonic fabric". Still gives chills to this day.
BOOK OF DAYS (GAELIC) When looking at a book of days for each new year that approaches, I continue to be intrigued by the possibilities of each blank page - what will it hold? I experience a mixture of sadness and exuberance when I think of lives laid out on a page or in a book. Personal histories of great loves, of journeys exotic and wonderful, of loss, fear and tragedy, of dreams and simple wishes. I shall do this same meditation this year as the New year dawns. I shall be looking back at what has already been written and looking forward to what could be. It your life could be written as a book, what words would you choose? If your stories could be told, what stories would you tell?
Speaking of words in my Books of Days... I remember how spellbound and enchanted I was on the discovery of "Shepherd Moons" (which was my first album of Enya) by "that unknown language" I saw in the booklet. I was pretty sure that "Lothlórien" is of the same tongue too. Only some time later did I learn that this otherworly language Enya sings in is Gaeilge. Hence, if my life could be written as a book, I think I would choose a lot of Irish words too - and it all thanks to your songs.
I would say I was born a pliant, scared tree, ( as all children are ), a circumference nature filled with it’s self, until lightning split the middle. I am two parts, a portion left in organic form, and the lightening that left it’s self inside me. My wish is for a calendar day, when I can take back my center and remove the sword storm of my intruder. I’m fool enough to believe I can, someway. I fascinate over the readings! Very mindful thoughts and images of delightful openings! I thank my trinity, for love, ergo and faithful exploration. 🤍🕯️✨🤍🕊️💫🤍
Bought an audio cassette of this album in Ingolstadt (Germany) in 1991, during my youth orchestra's tour. Listened to every note and phrase so carefully to absorb the new and fresh style that suddenly appears. Enya's music accompanies me all my life. What a unique and brilliant person she is!
Ebudae This title is an ancient name for the archipelago is the modern-day Hebrides, the inner and outer islands that lie of the coast of Scotland. It has been given many names throughout the ages. The Romans, who travelled north to find it, referred to it as Ebudae, and spoke of the fact that were many, many islands - so many they could not count them. The Norse meanwhile referred to them in the opposite manner - as the Southern Isles. Innse Gall is the Scots Gaelic name for the islands. The islands themselves have names that reflect the various stages in their history which was influenced not only by the Norse, but also by England and Ireland. I have an old atlas of ancient maps in which one can still find the name Ebudae printed beside these isles.
Love this song, knew it was Scottish Gaelic as I played it at my mum’s funeral. Our roots lie in the Hebrides, thank you Enya for connecting me through my roots and remembering my mother and Gaelic grandmother.
I always wished as a kid that Enya would be my mum so she could sing me to sleep as I felt neglected by my parents. The music you gave to us all, I hold dearly in my heart. I love you guys! 💜💜💜
How can I keep from singing? At the time we recorded this song, we had thought it to be an old shaker hymn. The shakers did sing this song, but it was written in 1846 I believe, by Robert Lowry (1826-1899) who was a Baptist minister and a prolific hymn-writer. One of the reasons we had chosen to arrange this piece was because the Shakers, among others, had sent aid to Ireland during the Famine in the 1840’s. It is amazing that aid was sent to Ireland from many parts of the world, from Venezuela to Russia, from the Caribbean to the Ottoman Empire. It is one of the most wonderful strengths we humans have; that we can help each other in the hour of need. One particularly touching act was from the Choctaw Nation. They themselves had suffered greatly, having walked what is known as ‘The Trail of Tears’. Even though they had just come through this great ordeal they actually sent donations to Ireland in an attempt to relieve the suffering. Today, Ireland and the Choctaw nation still recognize this close bond between them, and have both participated in each other’s remembrance walks.
While the poetry of the Enya recording is the same as the Pete Seeger recording that I remember of 1958, it is not the poetry that was in our hymnal at the church I attended in my youth. I feel that the Enya team gave the heart and soul back to the song that Pete Seeger tried to remove. I love the Enya interpretation although the Pete Seeger interpretation never gave me the same uplifting feeling, great work!
How to keep what comes to me through music, the song of birds, the scent of flowers, changing light, the dance of planets and stars, which reminds me of the fragility of life, the evanescence of notes, which yet leave the memory of feelings, makes the well of our aspirations overflow, dictate the words, the melodies, and make our songs, happiness to share.
😭😭😭 We are almost Home. A place where Love reigns supreme with no more sorrow or pain. All will be filled with the Light of Christ and pure unconditional Love. ♥️🙏🏻♥️
I remember listening to this music crying in bed at night many years ago. Now I'm in the middle of another phase of life's challenge and I will cry to sleep listening to this all over again. I'm not crying because her music makes me sad. It heals me and allows me to cry. Thank you Enya.
Afer Ventus The moment experienced when everything in life suddenly makes sense - when everything fits into place and we know why - is a rare moment, but it does happen. If we are lucky enough we can bathe in the brevity of that moment, for it passes as quickly as it arrives. Like Joyce’s epiphanies, they can sometimes seem trivial, but are always crucial and revealing moments in our lives, delicate and fleeting. In Afer Ventus it is those moments of pure enlightenment which are described.
I remember when I heard this album for the first time, in a friend's store, I was paralyzed. When I heard Caribbean Blue next, I cried. I never understood why. All I know is that I bought the album, told him "it's wonderful" and went home. Even today I get goosebumps and my eyes get teared. It's still a unique experience.
Smaointe The story at the beach at Machaire Gathlan (The plain of the Shelter). Many years past a great wave swept onto the land, crashing down upon the small church and graveyard, which stood close to the shoreline. It destroyed the church. All who were in it that day perished. It is in this same graveyard that Enya’s grandparents are buried. Enya often talked to me of how she could see the graveyard as she walked along the shores of Machaire Gathlan, and of how she felt her grandparents were watching over her and guiding her still. Memories of her childhood and days spent with them come to Enya when she walks there, memories which she will treasure always. I wrote Smaointe in response to these reflections. This word translated, means ‘thoughts’.
I think James Horner may have been 'inspired' by this for his musical score of TITANIC. I always hear it in the opening credits theme. It's a well know fact James Cameron was listening to Enya while writing the script and asked Horner to give him something "Enya-like" for the score...
Marble Halls Once again, we have several threads coming together which dictated this choice of track. This aria is from the opera “The Bohemian Girl” by the Irish composer Michael William Balfe with the libretto by Alfred Bunn. It is an opera loosely based on the writing of Cervantes, he of “Don Quixote” fame. Cervantes also wrote a novella in 1613, which included La Gitanella (The little gypsy girl). It was this story that The Bohemian Girl was based upon. The aria is a favourite of Enya’s mother. Hence we see the first thread. The Bohemian Girl was first performed in London in 1843, and in Dublin the following year. Now to the second thread - my mother performed this aria on stage when she was young! Unfortunately, there are no recordings of that stage production. Although she crossed over when my siblings and I were all young, I still remember her wonderful voice, I still remember her singing.
Enya has been one of the few constants in my life. From the first time I was introduced to Watermark in 1991 to the present I have always had at least one Enya cassette, CD or MP3 album in my vehicles. Artists came and went on my playlists but she and Pink Floyd were always there. Her music gives me a calm and peacefulness in tough and turbulent times and for that I will always be grateful to her.
Lothlorien Lothlorien is the name J.R.R. Tolkien gave to a land of enchantment in his masterpiece ‘Lord of the rings”. He gave us a history of imaginative translations of this name, referring to valleys and vales, to a land of singers, of singing gold and of flowers. This place is as old as time and very beautiful. Lord of the rings is one of Enya’s favourite books and, as you can see, this instrumental was titled long before we worked on the film Lord of the Rings: the Fellowship of the Ring.
I first met Enya songs as a teenager, then brand new sounds were kept in my memory. But now entering my forties, I met Enya's aesthetic music again, and this time I was thoroughly absorbed. Profoundly gentle vocal and melody, and lyrics that I could resonate, sometimes mystical, allow me to experience layers of beautiful feelings. Enya music is eternal to me.
Book of days The original version of Book of days is the Gaelic one, which you will also hear in this Anniversary watching party. Ron Howard, who had chosen the track for his film “Far and Away” which as you can see by the footage, stars Tom Cruise and Nicole Kidman, had asked us to adapt the piece to his particular vision of the scene. We found him to be a very sincere man who knew exactly what he wanted for his film, and, in this way, this version of the song was born.
This song was the soundtrack of a stage in my life, when I decided to leave my hometown and embark on an adventure through life, a journey towards a new horizon, following a dream that in the end left me great satisfaction, I found a new land and a new beginning too.
I always think how fortunate we are to live in the same period that Enya has made music. Her music is seriously a blessing for so many millions of people.
Read comments. Her music has already been heard read, by many others in the universe. And this her, her voice, demeanor intent will live forever. Thank you Enya, and you all here!
Shepherd Moons At the moment of writing there are some 82 moon orbiting Saturn, with 59 of them confirmed and named by the IAU. Out of these moons there are 7 Shepherd Moons - including the two co-orbitals - Prometheus, Pandora, Atlas, Daphnis, Pan, Epimetheus and Janus. When we were writing and recording the Shepherd Moons album, we knew of only two, and knew them only by their designations - S/1980 S27 and S/1980 S26. Now we know those first two moons we had in mind are named Prometheus and Pandora. Since then, especially with Cassini, more shepherd moons have been identified and named. These moons are not only found with Saturn, but now we know Jupiter, Uranus and Neptune all have at least one shepherd moon. Interestingly, astronomers are now looking at Centaurs, which are known as both comet-and-minor planet (hence the suitable term for these objects) as rings have also been found around some of these objects. The IAU decided the moons should bear names taken from giants of mythology. They began with Greek mythology, and have now added the name of giants from Norse and Inuit mythology. However, the shepherd moons here are all named for figures from Graeco-Roman mythology, beginning with the Titans. Whilst the planets themselves all bear the Roman or Latin names, the surrounding moons often have ancient Greek names.
Not only have the titans’ names been taken to space and placed on shepherd moons and other objects, but here on earth we still use them in various fields, such as psychology and sport. For example, Atlas is used to describe someone who has had to take on excessive responsibility at an early age. I found it interesting that studies show these children usually keep that sensitivity for the welfare of others as they grow into adulthood. This can sometimes result in them being unaware of their own needs.
Wow, there are not many singers/artists who are this knowledgeable, but I am not surprised given the backgrounds and complexities of the albums and individual songs
Big thanks to you Enya and your amazing team. Thanks for all the interesting information and for revealing the background of your beautiful songs. It's a very interesting read when I have the opportunity to learn what was behind the creation of my favorite songs. Thank you also for the beautiful poems and wonderful music and for the whole annual party, which in this crazy Covid time seems like a cure for the soul. Thanks again 🙏🙏🙏. I am sending you tons of love and health from Slovakia 🇸🇰❤️.
This album belongs in the hall of fame of music. 13+ million copies sold is no joke, and millions more people impacted by the music all over the world. Enya's truly in her own league
AS BAILE Although I wrote a small outline of this track when Warner first released it digitally in the U.S. I thought I might recap and possibly add a few words. As I had said then, As Baile is a companion piece to Exile. One sings of exile and the longing to return home, the other sings of love and of loneliness. They are both part of the same longing. I also love the way Enya sings both these songs. That cry of distance in one, and in the other that pure lament, the immediate sound of an anguished heart. From home… For you My love will guide as a light in darkness For you My love will rise in each night, each day (My love is true day and night) My Love flies free day and night
ORIEL WINDOW This short piece on Oriel window is written in a particular style as it is an excerpt taken from writings you will find in the future…
The three speak on the word Oriel and why it happened The first spoke of the Oriel Window where she could watch the moonlight lay itself down upon the waves, upon the sea, as if it were dancing for her alone. The second spoke. He said: The soft-tempered mongrel I had as a child, I gave it that name. Oriel. The third spoke of an over-kingdom called Airgialla, spoken in English as Oriel, with histories, poetry, song. Hopefully, in the future we will all meet again and you will discover those other words written…
@@vivianavero360 Although I didn't understand this about "Oriel Window", Nicky's note, at the beginning of the video, suggests the making of a future album (or new songs, at least).
I came hear after reading a bit about Enya's way of life, how she devotes herself entirely to her music. I was worried that my living life similarly might not be good for me. Hearing Enya's music again has confirmed I have nothing to be concerned about at all. Simply amazing.
I will say this to Enya, Nicky and Roma (since I know they will read this), The world needs you now, probably more so than ever before. Your fans need you now l, probably more so than Ever. Please come back to us with a new song or album. You all have a way of limiting grief and despair, and in these most unsettling of times, your gift is needed. Thank you all for everything you’ve done. It’s the most exciting time yet to be an “Enya” fan. Much love and thanks to all three of you!
This album is healing my soul. I was growing up with it in Czech Republic and it brings back my memories :) So amazingly done, created, performed... gee. This is a pure musical GEM! I love Enya and her music so much!
Got mine on CD and it also had the original Gaelic version. Apparently in South Africa where I live they didn't change it at all with subsequent prints over the years. If you wanted the English version you had to purchase the single separately
The first time I heard Enya was when I watched the BBC series The Celts back in 1987 I think....my sister went out and bought the record (preCD!) and we played it non stop
I love Enya and I love her kind spirit that she’s brings to the world and to the music industry. Without her, the industry would never hear such angelic sounds or have such touching energy. 💙💙💙💙💙 Thank you so much for your energy and your love for music and fans like me. God Bless you, Enya.
Mr. Ryan's note gives me hope of more music to come. I hope the release will be soon. Slainte ! Doesn't seem like thirty years already. I do not feel that much older... Have been a fan since '87, seems like yesterday. All the best to Ms. Brennan, Mr. Ryan, and Mrs. Ryan. Thank you for all the wonderful music over the years and the journey. My heart overflows with appreciation and gratitude for each of you and your music.💙
I fell in love with the beauty of this album, a masterpiece like this could only come from the divine voice of Enya, a celtic music Goddess. Happy 30th Anniversary!
This album opened the door to my discovery of Enya. Such beautiful music, such a wonderful voice, she has been there whenever I've needed a soothing voice and a calming influence. Many thanks Enya, I love you and your music.

I have to admit, I only guessed a few 😊. A lot of information was new to me and therefore it was instructive for me 👍. Well thank you. Big thanks to you Enya and your amazing team🙏🙏🙏. Thanks for all the interesting information and for revealing the background of your beautiful songs. Enya is one of a kind she's just perfect, unique bravo 👏 it feels like ur in a whole new world when listening to her sing the beat and the flow of her music is just magnificent 🎉
Let’s all hope a new album is forthcoming, I remember purchasing Shepherd Moons on CD at Sam Goody and then going to Sears and listening to the album on a Sony mini stereo at the mall upon its release. Had to hide my tears as it was and remains hauntingly beautiful.
Thank you, Enya, for always saving and keeping my sanity alive. There has been a lot going on. I had to be in so many unexpected places for the last 30 years. Thanks for all the healings. Your music will always be with me from now on, too. :)
This is the album that made me a lifelong fan. In 91 I knew she was the "Sail Away" lady, but didn't own either of her cd's. Then I heard Caribbean Blue at work on the radio from her new third cd, and literally stopped what I was doing to just listen until it was over. I didn't buy it on release day, but my next day off I was at the record store, buying all three of her cd's. Fairytale from The Celts was the song played at my first wedding while lighting the unity candle! I of course now own every cd she has put out, even that 4-song cd that had her Gaelic version of Silent Night on it. Love this woman and her music.
I love all songs on this album, like pearls on a necklace I’ve been wearing for almost 30 years. I am grateful to you Enya! Love, from Mariana, Isaac and Alvin
I truly believe Enya is an amazing artist, so I'm sure she is an amazing person. It would a privilege to meet you or be at one of your concerts. The melody or lyrics of your song really capture what life should be. It takes to a magical land
I hope you see this comment thank you for the music you are truly an earth angel and I wish you could see all the Facebook groups about you and see how much love there is and I wish I could show you all my pictures and tell you just what you mean to us all please keep making your truly special music xxx
We have missed you Enya! cant wait to see what you bring us next, you never disapoint your fans your such an amazing and rare woman, your talent and kindness always shines through, if more where like you the world would be a better place.
Not only my favourite Enya album, but one of the most important albums of all time in my humble opinion. The first time I heard Caribbean Blue and saw the video was beyond magical and ahead of its time. No Holly for Miss Quinn is one of the most beautiful piano instrumentals ever. I didn't understand why Book of Days didn't make it onto the Best of DVD, but I was delighted to find it on iTunes. Lothlorien is probably my favourite, but the whole album is a masterpiece. I bought the cassette for myself in high school with my paper delivery money! I've been a massive fan eversince. Love you Enya! Thank you for the music and influence!
I also still listen to Enya since this album came out. At night when I can't sleep, her music really calms, soothes my soul and invites me to sleep peacefully 😊. She's a blessing, an angel on earth 🙏
30 years…where does time go.. I still have the CD I bought all those years ago and still play it often. Enya’s music has been like a close friend, always there with you as you journey through life, the good parts, and the bad.. I would be lost without her music. Thank you Enya.
I first came to know you from a local tv ad in my home country in the Philippines more than 2 decades ago that used one of your songs "Fairytale"---I was instantly smitten something fierce, so I searched high & low to know about your song. I nearly completed collecting your albums in casette tapes during my college years. You serenaded, enchanted, gave me comfort, made me dream & nurtured the artist in me whenever I sing. You were a very special part in the season of my youth & your songs will remain an ageless, ethereally beautiful & constant barrage of evocative memories for the rest of my lifetime... Sing on, Enya, sing on...
Enya is truly the queen of this universe.soft like pollen, colorful like butterflies, warm like sun in the dawn, fresh like dew yet sharp like platinum blade.
15 years ago I went to a college nerd's room to complete a team paper. We were not friend but on arriving I he was actually playing Enya' Caribbean Blue which happen to be my favorite in the whole world! Today we are blessed with 2 beautiful boys and have been married for 9yrs! My little boys listen to Enya before bed they love it! Thank you Enya'!
Nicky notes in his message that now that some studio renovations are complete they can get on with new music....I pray they are not just starting new music now as it's 6 long years since Dark Sky Island, and a difficult few years and it would be wonderfully uplifting to hear something new from Enya, Roma & Nicky!
One of the things I love about Enya's music is the way it seems to deeply permeate my mind. I am a writer, and I seem to be able to dig a little deeper to find that elusive phrase I am digging for when I listen to an Enya CD. Thank you Enya for being my muse when I am at the keyboard. Thank you for the memories these songs evoke. I hope for many more projects coming out of your studio. Lothlorien is an example of a song that gently pulls out those deeper expressions. Thanks again.
The memories these songs hold for me are simply overwhelming.... Remind me of better days, filled with mum and dad driving into the heart of Wales to collect our Old English Sheepdog. Good days. Great parents, I am a lucky boy indeed. A 40yr old boy sat crying tears of love and sorrow all at once... What a life this is.... What a ride. These are the days fam. Rise above the tyranny and fear, embrace your brothers and sisters of all creeds, colors and religions... We are one human race. Never forget the ones that have passed before us, live our lives in their memory, full of light and love ❤️❤️❤️❤️
La música de Enya O'Brennan es simplemente angelical, divina, excelsa, maravillosa... doy gracias al Hado por haberla descubierto a la temprana edad de 19 años y continuar escuchándola hoy, a mis 48.
I‘ll never forget hearing Caribbean Blue for the first time, it remains one of my favorite songs..right up there with Afer Ventus and the Gaelic version of Book of Days.
Enya, I am very grateful for Your support and help, and for the fact that Your music heals people's broken hearts at this last hard days of this world sytem. You follow the biblical principle: "Do not deny good to those who demand it, if you can help" (Proverbs 3:27). I am sure that God sees Your kindness and will surely reward You for it.
How can I keep from listening???? This inspires us to listen and sing! Listening to this once more, feels like coming home .... A home beyond earthly homes, a home within all, a heart shaped home.
Glad to see comments by so many Enya fans like you. I live in Ireland and I am a proud Enya fan for over 35years. I get mocked by everyone I know here for being a huge Enya fan. But her music speaks to my soul, makes me smile when I feel down or stressed and it is my go to music to keep me positive and it feels spiritual. I love playing her pieces on my different types of recorder instruments.
@@thebigloc1 It's difficult (if not impossible) to explain why, but Enya music transcends geography and possibly ages. I live in Argentina, and altough I speak english I know no gaelic and I miss most of the english words in Enya music. For me, it's the harmony, the music style and of course the melody. Made me search (a while ago, when Watermark came out) about irish culture. We have so much in common. Thenks Enya and team for the beautiful gifts
Enya, thank you for singing me to sleep these past 35 years. I literally cannot fall asleep anymore without hearing your music. Your hard work is very appreciated.
Enya your music takes me to a different place and it’s really magical, deep and beautiful. I’ve listened to your soft tone since I was a child. The hardships, sadness, and despair all goes away when I listen to you. I have ptsd and trauma from my upbringing and ever since this day your music takes that pain away. Thank you Enya🥺❤️
I love you Enya since 1987 and will never stop loving you as long as I live. You are my Angel and always lift me up whenever I am sad. Yono Isung ( London )
No Holly for Miss Quinn
A partner piece to Miss Clare remembers on Watermark.

Caribbean Blue
As with a lot of the songs I find that there are several threads that come together to create the lyrics.

Caribbean Blue is my favorite Enya song and that is a great fable, love knowing how it connects to the song.

At times we ask for extraordinary things to happen in our lives and somehow, deep down, we believe they will.

That is...so beautiful. Thank you. This is a song that deserves more attention.
Evacuee
I remember her face.
This song breaks my heart
No wonder this song lyrics is so deep for me.. 🥲🥲🥲
...💔
I assume that by "evacuee," you mean someone other than Enya. Her mother, perhaps?
Shepard Moons proved Enya wasn't just some one-time serendipity. She had staying power and endless originality. Caribbean Blue was the first song I ever heard that I thought of as a "sonic fabric". Still gives chills to this day.
BOOK OF DAYS (GAELIC)
When looking at a book of days for each new year that approaches, I continue to be intrigued by the possibilities of each blank page - what will it hold? I experience a mixture of sadness and exuberance when I think of lives laid out on a page or in a book. Personal histories of great loves, of journeys exotic and wonderful, of loss, fear and tragedy, of dreams and simple wishes. I shall do this same meditation this year as the New year dawns. I shall be looking back at what has already been written and looking forward to what could be.
It your life could be written as a book, what words would you choose? If your stories could be told, what stories would you tell?
My first love..
Btw my book of days for this year is filled with sadness for my loss of my beloved husband.. 🥲🥲🥲
Ebudae
This title is an ancient name for the archipelago is the modern-day Hebrides, the inner and outer islands that lie of the coast of Scotland.

Esos mapas llevan una gran historia, buen dato que no sabía el origen de la palabra Ebudae.

I am sorry for your crying moments and I hope after a year you found peace of mind...
Afer Ventus
The moment experienced when everything in life suddenly makes sense - when everything fits into place and we know why - is a rare moment, but it does happen.
❤️
I love those moments!
I'm still loking for that moment
Absolutely, Afer Ventus is a pure moment of life enlightenment
I love this particular piece the most.
Smaointe
The story at the beach at Machaire Gathlan (The plain of the Shelter).

Marble Halls
Once again, we have several threads coming together which dictated this choice of track.
❤️
So you read Miguel de Cervantes too? That’s nice

Lothlorien
Lothlorien is the name J.R.R.
Lothlórien is one of my favorite
This song just feels like LOTR even though it pre-dates the movie.
I often play this incredible track on an endless loop while I'm writing.
The Hobbit and Lord of the rings are the books that I remember most from my school years. I was 10 when I first read them! That was 55 years ago.
Lady Galadriel's Sacred Home
I first met Enya songs as a teenager, then brand new sounds were kept in my memory. But now entering my forties, I met Enya's aesthetic music again, and this time I was thoroughly absorbed. Profoundly gentle vocal and melody, and lyrics that I could resonate, sometimes mystical, allow me to experience layers of beautiful feelings.
Enya music is eternal to me.
Book of days
The original version of Book of days is the Gaelic one, which you will also hear in this Anniversary watching party.
Looking forward to hearing the Gaelic version!
I love the play with time signatures on this one! Shows Enya's musical prowess
I love both, but I haven´t found the gaelic version in CD or digital, I have my cassette from the 90´s that has that vesion
Gaelic far and away was the first enya song that I heard. And I fell in love for instance with it.
This song was the soundtrack of a stage in my life, when I decided to leave my hometown and embark on an adventure through life, a journey towards a new horizon, following a dream that in the end left me great satisfaction, I found a new land and a new beginning too.
ENYA, thanks so much for the joy and happiness your music delivers. 🙏🇳🇿
I always think how fortunate we are to live in the same period that Enya has made music. Her music is seriously a blessing for so many millions of people.
And I wish others believe that. Instead of criticizing her for lack of new music.
Read comments. Her music has already been heard read, by many others in the universe. And this her, her voice, demeanor intent will live forever. Thank you Enya, and you all here!

Shepherd Moons
At the moment of writing there are some 82 moon orbiting Saturn, with 59 of them confirmed and named by the IAU.
Jesus, King of the Universe I love you!

AS BAILE
Although I wrote a small outline of this track when Warner first released it digitally in the U.S.
From home…

ORIEL WINDOW
This short piece on Oriel window is written in a particular style as it is an excerpt taken from writings you will find in the future…
The three speak on the word Oriel and why it happened
The first spoke of the Oriel Window where she could watch the moonlight lay itself down upon the waves, upon the sea, as if it were dancing for her alone.
Hopefully!
Oh, let’s hope we will!

This is the album that made me a lifelong fan. In 91 I knew she was the "Sail Away" lady, but didn't own either of her cd's.
Fell in Love to this album in 1993, 28 years strong, Love them both still
Enya is truly the queen of this universe.soft like pollen, colorful like butterflies, warm like sun in the dawn, fresh like dew yet sharp like platinum blade.
My soul are dancing with this music
This music holds so much meaning for me. Thank you so very much. I hope all of you feel connected to the people who love you and appreciate you.
Yea please
Soul soothing songs from a great minstrel. Viva Enya!!!
Thank You very much good Enya! I can not imagine to myself what much forses costs to do such miracle music
I love her style her music and herself
I believe Enya is one of many artists who enrich our universe for the better; there are many. People truly enjoy your music/Roma's poetry.
❤
La música de Enya O'Brennan es simplemente angelical, divina, excelsa, maravillosa... doy gracias al Hado por haberla descubierto a la temprana edad de 19 años y continuar escuchándola hoy, a mis 48.
I‘ll never forget hearing Caribbean Blue for the first time, it remains one of my favorite songs..right up there with Afer Ventus and the Gaelic version of Book of Days.
Enya sou do Brasil e amo suas músicas desde que ouvi pela primeira vez há 30 anos . Sua música toca a minha alma .
Can’t wait for this. First heard her music in a commercial in 2019 while on a trip. Now I really love her music❤️❤️
Hearing one of her track used in part of the opening scene of deadpool 2 made that scene magical to me. I love Enya.
What I've heard Enya since I was a kid
Enya, I am very grateful for Your support and help, and for the fact that Your music heals people's broken hearts at this last hard days of this world sytem. You follow the biblical principle: "Do not deny good to those who demand it, if you can help" (Proverbs 3:27). I am sure that God sees Your kindness and will surely reward You for it.
Enya, la voz, irrepetible , inigualable, única . Simplemente ENYA. Gracias por tu trabajo.
How can I keep from listening????
This inspires us to listen and sing!
Listening to this once more, feels like coming home ....
A home beyond earthly homes, a home within all,
a heart shaped home.
This is going to be epic! Being able to enjoy a watch party with all these fans around the globe. I can’t wait!
@@thebigloc1 Im a huge Enya fan since my college days. Keep it going! -Dave from the Philippines 💙
Enya- thank you so much for your music! It never fails to help me sleep and relax, or to just sit back and think. You're a real treasure!
So beautiful and sweet voice! Great👍 ! Very beautiful upload ! 👍🏾 👍🏾

Enya is the greatest of all time.
Thank you very much Enya. Sheperd Moon's tape with his wonderful songs accompanied me since I was a child to today!
I love you Enya since 1987 and will never stop loving you as long as I live. You are my Angel and always lift me up whenever I am sad.
