Warcraft 3 was a life-changing experience for me, and this video is my favorite of all the cinematics in the game because of the volume of serious dialogue it contained in relation to the others.
There was 7 human kingdoms : Alterac , Stromgarde , Kul Tiras , Gilneas,Storwind, Dalaran and Lordaeron . Storwind was destroyed on the first war , Alterac destroyed on the second war for betraying the Alliance , after the second war Storwind was rebuild , during the third war Lordaeron and Dalaran were destroy. Stromgarde was attacked by bandits and ogres and The Forsaken invaded Gilneas . Only Kul Tiras never was invaded , the only human kingdom than don't appears on world of warcraft.
He tried Arthas first, but Arthas wouldn't listen either. I guess since neither of them were members of the Kirin Tor or magically inclined, they couldn't sense the power radiating from the spirit of Medivh.
The eyes of the king when it zooms into his face, the realism is epic. I remeber when i first saw this video when the game was released. Its still shockingly good now compared to whats out there.
Yeah I keep coming back and watching this and feeling some parallels to our times. If you are familiar with world history for the last hundred years then you feel it even stronger.

its because most of the city is abandoned and there'd be no need to view just an empty space it's like being allowed to fly all the way to Kalimdor from The Easton Kingdoms on a flying mount, it'd be nothing there and just pure boredom, and the most of Lorderon is underground thanks to Lady Sylvanis.
Actually the place that is now known as the Undercity was, during the reign of Terenas, the city's sewers and crypts. Arthas DID build the Undercity as it is today by having his undead minions carve out the tunnels and expand it greatly. Then when he left for Northrend Sylvanas came along and took it for herself.
Medivh should've dressed in a more formal attire instead of a raven getup. It's no surprised Terenas and the nobles dismissed him as an insane lunatic.
well knowing that one of the greatest villain is back should lend some credibility to his word. Its not like saying "run,run theres evil coming for y'all!!" without any support would get him anywhere. And I doubt they could get him even if they wanted to,this is Medivh,after all.
Thats one of the reasons 'wow' survived and became huge because they went for stability over graphics. You dont need a High end system to play it. In my opinion id rather it like that.
Terenas with his decision making and lack of decisive action was digging his own grave. Kirin Tor had a clue that Plague was magical in nature and advised in this very intro to setup quarantine. It transforms people into undead and it's somehow not worth to contain it's spreading? Or it's not magical? Sure, people everyday turn into walking corpses, whatever, everyone does that, my cat too. Bad writing or dumb king and elite of Lordaeron?

It's Blizzard's problem, because they can't let Medivh expose entire plot of the game in first 5 minutes of the game, so he instead says vague stuff you hear from your average doomsayer. I don't care about Medivh, but there was Kirin Tor ambassador who was dismissed straight away. Even if plague wasn't magical in nature, it was known to kill thousands of people if not millions (like Black Death or Spanish Flu). Not sure if it can be related to Warcraft with healing magic, but it's worth considering. Terenas didn't mean anything wrong, but if the entire thing was quarantined and investigated faster instead of chasing orcs for weeks, the outcome could be different. Why not listen to Kirin Tor? They were mostly right in all their concerns: Alexstrasza had to be freed and Prestor (Deathwing) couldn't be trusted for example.
And it is actually compensated by an EXTREMELY rich environment. A forest is made of hundreds of trees, animals, rocks, grass, mountains, herbs, ... Games that are prettier, such as Lineage 2 or Aion (same graphics, same game, same suckiness), have forests made of 2 trees and 5 pieces of grass.

@groterichard Cause WoW isn't to scale nor is it meant to be. Could you imagine actually traveling an Azeroth that is actually to scale? A trip from Undercity to Stormwind taking weeks, going from West Orgrimmar to East Orgrimmar taking a few hours, the place you need to be to a few kill boars for quest, on the other side of the region, days away. Any game of that scale/scope with no way of fast travel would be utterly unenjoyable.
If King Terenas had listened to the Kirin Tor, the scourge, and the forsaken by extension, could have been completely prevented. The Kirin Tor were responsible for Aegwynne and the last guardian, so I feel like they would have had the power to stop the burning legion again, with the corruption of Medivh based solely on the fact that Aegwynne chose to ignore the Kirin Tor and had a child. The eastern kingdoms would have still been flourishing, but then they'd most likely have to fight the Nerubians, and it's doubtful that they'd enlist the help of the Horde. If the kingdom of lordaeron had prevented the scourge, they might have been destroyed by the burning legion because they would have chosen to stand alone. Then the Horde would be wiped out as well for the same reason. Then the burning legion would move to Kalimdor and a second war of the ancients would have occurred. Illidan would have to be freed since it was his demonic powers that stopped the legion in the first war of the ancients, but this might cause a civil war among the night elves, either allowing the legion to divide and conquer or be pushed out of azeroth by the survivors of the night elf civil war. Maybe the dwarves and gnomes would side with the Horde and be able to push the legion out, because both the dwarves and the orcs are battle hardened and the gnomes and goblins could share their technical expertise, so even if the high elves and humans were completely defeated, there'd be another fighting force capable of taking on the legion. Also, aren't humans also the descendants of a race that was just as powerful as the na'ru (I forget the name)? Or the ogres, which were the descendants of the titans. I don't understand how all of these groups that were descended from much more powerful races couldn't reawaken their powers to fight the legion.

He completely blew him off and what happened next? His son kills him, destroys Lordaeron, the strongest human nation at the time, and becomes the Lich King. Good job your majesty -_-

Did you notice Vanilla is the continuation of the Third war, that BC is the continuation of the BElf campaign, WotLK the Arthas campaign continuation and cataclysm the continuation of the elements, which weren't even really known in WC3? MoP shows an insight into Pandaren lore, the ones that helped Rexxar. REXXAR, DAMMIT!
