Omg Yes!!!! I listen to your videos every night before bed. Its the best and most informative GoT podcast out there. Your voices are like golden honey dripping down a waterfall of bliss. Thank you!
Awesome video! Exactly the quality we've come to expect from possibly the best and most informative original content creators in the ASOIAF universe. Aziz has this way of talking for a couple hours that keeps you engaged and thinking without the usual dose of boredom and frequent lapses of attention. Can't wait to watch the next one. Any Livestreams coming up with the usual collaborators?
There is such 'an embarrassment of riches' here that I'll have to listen to it several times to appreciate all you've offered here. I'm on my second go-through and am glad to report this holds up to the high standard of of your very best work.
I love that Marc Joseph is still remembered among the Dragon Rider Patrons. RIP Marc This one is really strong. Michal is on point as always. I love to see Aziz sprinkle his humor throughout. Never apologize for a pun my friend. A thought on the water magic employed by the Rhoynar. Follow me as I digress for a moment. "Fire and Blood" refers to to the element and the "symbol of life". The Rhoynar had a Festival city and a Palace of Love and their descendants (Dornish) have very open ideas on sexuality. Is it possible (best Ancient Aliens voice) that the "sacrifice" for water magic was ritual sex of some kind? Is there anything else to support this wild speculation?
Nothing comes to mind in terms of support for that, but I really like the idea as a foil/counter concept! Like ice/fire etc. The Pentoshi tradition is... slightly similar? It still involves killing off their Princes pretty often, but it always involves sex. But there's no hint that there's any real magic in that.
Dany parallels Nymeria. Davos Dayne was Nymeria’s third husband. Jon Snow could be a Dayne (N+A=J or B+A=J). Dany is going to marry Jon Snow confirmed...... or not.
Woo! I was just highly annoyed at youtube recommending me reaction videos of people watching random videos on youtube when I saw I missed your new, always awesome, always original, video. PS. Talking about reaction videos reminded me I would like to plug someone, a 13 year old girl who just finished watching (and reacting) to Game of Thrones (while keeping completely spoiler/interaction free) with her dad a couple weeks ago (they remind me of Arya and Ned). I thought she had some interestingly clever fresh ways of looking at GoT but her and her dad aren't real interview people, so I thought I'd be pretty awesome if some of you professional long time GoT veterans would talk to them about their experiences/views before they spend years with all the theories out there. Anna, (that's her name) would make a great ambassador for a whole new generation of GoT fans, she already mentioned doing a reaction series with some of her friends (after getting their parents approval, because she responsibly nerdy like that haha) Here a link the her dads channel, where they did the GoT reaction together: ua-cam.com/channels/IMJew3yX_FkjMcpjNVPmOg.html
Ny in the name could be similar to Ni in Celtic which means Daughter of, or Nymeria could translate to Daughter of Meria. #Food5Taught #IdeaMaybe worth a look
wow that was cool and the lady doing the readings was great I never knew where greyscale started what a cool story OMG the dragon lords sucked bring on the DOOM muhaaaa
I just discovered this I have been searching for the story of Nymeria for some time now and I finally found it. Thank you History of Westeros.
The History of Westeros intro music never fails to bring a big ol' smile to my face

Relevant to the Rhoynar story of the long night being overcome with a song is also the Children of the Forest name for themselves - Singers.
Your episodes about asoif topics are like Feynman's lectures on physics.. They just make everything make sense! Thanks for a great episode 😊
YEEEEESSSSSS your back you guys keep me sane while I wait for the next book and tv series.
Everytime History of Westeros makes a new podcast I proceed to do the longest "yea boiiiii" ever.
Who is reading the excerpts in this video? The inflection is flawless!

Who is narrating the excerpts? Very nice work!
Maybe they carried him back to Valyria and dropped him in a volcano like he was the one ring? You nailed what happened to Dany season 8.
Great video love the Dany and Nymeria comparison, interesting! 🤔
thank you for 2 informative hours.
So excited for this series! Been listening to you guys for awhile and have been craving a Dorne series!
The ryonish and valayrian conflict seems to mirror rome and carthage.
I thought the Ghiscari and their wars with the Valryians matched Rome and Carthage more
Great video! Looking forward to the next one.
So.. the important question is: where can i find this fantastic map?
