- There are many different equations used to extract the equivalent inductance, and resistance from S-parameters. The most frequently used equations are 2-port Z-parameters based, 2-port Y-parameter based or 1-port Z-parameter from short-circuited 2-port Z- and S-parameters based. But They give different results. This video explains the best way to extract L/R/Q in ADS with accuracy.

It would be fantastic to see a similar example done for extracting capacitance.
If I have a two port s-parameter of a transmission line and want to pull out the capacitance, do I need to first extract the s-parameters again with Port 2 left "open" and then "stoy" the port 2 open s-parameters to y-parameters and then plot (imag(y11)/(2*pi*freq)), or can I just "stoy" the original 2 port s-parameters and extract c = imag(y11)/(2*pi*freq)) ?
No. If you have already the S-paramters, you should convert your existing S-parameters to the Y-parameters. You don't have to redo the meauremtns.
the video is very nice , but the audio is just terrible
