If you are more of a cat person, skip me loving on my dogs and jump to the 5:00 min mark for a field test.
If you'd like to hear what i have to say about this Leuku knife skip to the 29:00 min mark
I'd appreciate if you watched the whole thing but I'd rather you be able to do what you want. We still live in a slightly free country here in Eastern Tennessee.
    Thanks for watching 🤙🏻

@@MountaincraftOutdoors I am considering purchasing that leuku. I know similar knives have worked well in Northern Scandinavia for hundreds of years; however, trees in that area are predominantly soft woods. It was encouraging watching you using it successfully on our hard woods.
I do agree with you in that we must be prudent in what we expect of knives as they are not axes.
Are you still using this Stromeng KS9 and are you still pleased with it?

Great video Drew! The split-window view is pretty cool. Poor Bergel. Poor groundhog 😆! He’s a good boy. Tough too. Bergel gonna be OHTAY!! 😂🤣😂🤣👍🏻👍🏻.
I imagine Bonzo is very tough as well. My little Jack Russell wouldn’t let me mess with an injury she had. She gives me a Tasmanian hand buzz. But in the end she does see things my way. I’m never mean or abusive but determined. An injury has to be tended to.
Never had a Leuku knife. Really nice looking. I like the history & tradition of these knives. So purposeful. Tried & true. Reminds me somewhat of the tradition of the making of Japanese samurai swords.
Almost purchased a Roselli (Finland) 5” Leuku yrs ago. I bought 4 of his smaller knives over the yrs. Happy with them. They perform VERY well. Ragweed Forge has his knives & various other Nordic type knives.
I use an old Swamp Rat “Camp Tramp” for chopping jobs in the wood now & then. It’s a tank.
Your Leuku is an awesome knife Drew. She’s a keeper! Enjoy that beauty Drew!
Enjoyed your vid very much. Catch ya later! Take care. 👍🏻💪🏻🇺🇸☘️

Jack Russell's are tough! Cool little dogs. Business is business and they know when you mean it. They'll take it to the edge before giving in.Tasmanian hand buzz 😂
I have to check out Ragweed Forge!
      I appreciate you!
I have something like 4-5 videos I need to upload, figured I'd slow roll them but I'm running out of memory space on my phone.
Take care my friend 💪🏻🇺🇸🤙🏻 See ya

I'm subbed. Got a condor gollock machete. Getting used to that but I'd like a Leuku for prepping Reds. Get an evil edge on them or so they say

    • @MountaincraftOutdoors

Appreciate you watching and subbing. The leuku is a lot lighter than your average pack knife or machete. Don't think I mentioned that in the video but it's a plus.

@@MountaincraftOutdoors yes I've hefted one but I want it to cut the arses out of big deer so I can tie it all up clean and tidy. What mountains are you in. I'm in Wales UK 👍

Drew, nice video, and Bergel and Bonzo will be fine, those woodchucks do take “chunks” of skin when they bite! I used to hunt them with German hunting terriers, the bites are “clean” and generally heal very well. The handles on Leuko knives never worked for me, just not right for my hands on a large knife, I have yet to find a Kuhkri that works for me either. Thanks for doing what you do! Steve

Thank you Steve! I tried to get on board with using a kukri a couple years ago, maybe I haven't found the right one yet. I appreciate you watching. Take care!

Check out Rob Evans woodsman for some pointers on feather sticks, he does some great worth watching tutorials on the subject. Not critiquing your skills just giving you a heads up. 😁👍🏻

Thank you Frank! I've started to be slightly desensitized to them getting hurt. That being said, if it had happened to Bonzo as a puppy I would have freaked out. I've learned over time that they are some tough S.O.B's hahaha. I appreciate you watching my friend 💪🏻

My old dog Sadie was a hunter. She found a ground hog an was playing with him. He bit a hunk out of her ear. That’s what caused his end. After he bit her she jumped over him grabbed his throat an two good shakes. She also killed a few raccoons that were in our area. She was one hell of a dog been gone 10 years an I miss her dearly.

Nothing compares to a good companion. It's something special to build that bond with another living creature so strongly. I appreciate you watching and I bet you have some damn good memories of Sadie. Take care Richard.
